From a broken HVAC system that we have had to repair multiple times (no heat, no AC, improper ducting, etc) to having our kitchen sink fall right out of the counter we have had countless issues with our home. The biggest issue being a leak from the primary bathroom shower. During the claim, it felt as if KB swept the issue under the rug and now that it is back (and we are out of warranty) they are claiming false reasons for any water damage (like cracked caulking). It appears KB does not do their due diligence to make sure they are building proper homes or even standing behind its product when problems arise. Their limited warranty expires just in time before the house truly starts to settle and bigger issues start to pop up. I have still been unable to get copies of the inspection reports from our claims representative, so I reached out to the inspection company directly. Turns out they have not completed it yet. How can KB deny our claim without even having all of the information? At this point, I do not want them in our home anymore. I cannot trust them to provide accurate information or trusted workmanship. These problems dont even include other issues that were never submitted as a claim (unlevel flooring on the second level or an improperly supported bath in the second bathroom). This was supposed to be a home to raise a family and plan a future. Instead, we are met with constant problems that simply arise from what appears to be KB cutting corners and not caring about the people giving them money to live in their homes. They have left me with no other choice than to consider legal action.KB Home

On behalf of KB Home, we sincerely appreciate you bringing this complaint to our attention. We take complaints very seriously and regret that our customer is dissatisfied. Communication is very helpful to us as we strive to achieve complete customer satisfaction. We sincerely apologize for the owners experience and have noted owners concerns. KB HOME ************** (KB Home) received a Notice of Claim on March 31, 2025 (the Claim) regarding what appeared to be a leak on the ceiling of the first floor under the master bath shower. A KB Home customer service representative along with Steamatic Restoration inspected the moisture on the ceiling of the first floor and in the master bathroom. At the time of inspection, it was noted that after the shower was used, water was seeping into the side of the silicone cracks where caulking was needed, which is considered a homeowner maintenance issue. Because the caulking failure was determined to be a matter of homeowner maintenance, we respectfully declined to make any shower repairs. We have no record of any other current claims, including HVAC, but would be pleased to receive one at KB HOME WARRANTY DEPARTMENT Email: ******************************* Phone: ************** to file a claim for inspection and determination of warrantable repairs. Our scheduling hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, and you will get a response from our team within 24 hours to discuss any additional items. 1 starIf you are considering buying a house, please consider going with a different builder. We are only a month into owning a new house with KB and we are having major issues with the house. Mainly, the ** vent is leaking every time it rains, which is causing visible mold growth and damage to the dry wall that gets worse each day. Mind you, this is a brand new house. We've contacted the warranty advisor at **, but the process for getting the issue fixed is very slow, considering the severity of the issue. We waited days for the original builder to come and he came for 10 minutes, only to say there was nothing he could do for us. We then waited for the A/C contractor to come and he told us there's nothing he can really do for us. He thinks there may be a plumbing issue, but can't say for sure. Meanwhile, while we're waiting for answers, we were told nothing can be done about the mold until the issue is fixed, but there is no certainty about what the issue is or how long it will take to fix it. I've been crying the past few days, because this home was our dream and we're beginning to question if it's going to be safe to live in much longer if the mold keeps spreading.Review fromMohamed I

They brought us onboard with another salesperson that promised us a different amount for incentives - which is why we decided to go with KB. On top of that, their loan officer that we were working with to get prequalified was slacking and didn't progress on our application until we constantly pushed for something to be done. This led us to signing paperwork 2 months after we went to see the model homes because they had internal shifts in their team and our documents were getting tossed around and even "lost". Now, that we are nearly 6 months past that point and almost to closing, there have been many delays due to them painting our house the WRONG color, and many more reasons such as a leak after our third party inspector found it. There are also discrepancies in the papers that we signed and the figures that we were given. They purposely delayed everything in order to s**** us over and made it seem like they are always open to helping - but they're not. They don't honor their word, and because they've gotten sued so many times, they've left every stone unturned just so they can take advantage of new homeowners. We were lied to and misinformed and they won't honor what was presented to us at the time that we went to see the model homes because they purposely delayed us and our paperwork. Do NOT go to KBhomes. They are terrible with their customer service, they are doing unethical practices because of misinformation and misrepresentation of their incentives to get us on board, and then doing a switch up because of THEIR OWN INTERNAL delays. Not only that, they up'd the original $3k deposit to $12k and didn't honor that either. We were new to homeowning, our realtor sucked and didn't help us, now KB is s******* us by false advertising and not honoring their word from the original salesperson that we spoke to. Then they offer the incentive we are asking for to other homeowners in our faces saying it wont break the bank but refuse to help us. They are HORRIBLE.KB Home

This is the ******************* in *********, **. I do not feel comfortable disclosing the exact address on here, but you can reach out to me via email or provide me a contact that I can reach out to in order to discuss this situation. After speaking extensively to all the parties involved, ********** provided us with inaccurate figures in our estimate - then KB home sales delayed our purchase agreement because of internal shifts causing us to lose out on those incentives - which did not matter that much since **** gave us an estimate that seemed doable. After escalating the matter, ********** admitted that every party in this transaction had messed up. Whether it was the Loan side, the Home side, and the construction side. The construction team ended up painting our house the wrong color AND punching a hole in the wall for a window that didn't belong there and it led to a really poor patch job and they have to re-do the WHOLE front of our house. Our salesperson misclassified and even WITHHELD this information stating that it was just paint - but failed to mention that a hole was made and poorly patched causing more delays on the construction side. They failed to send a fully executed contract to ********** - which led to a late discovery of inaccurate figures and discrepancies, ultimately leading it up to a decision for ********** to direct our Loan to *******. KB Home is now saying that they had no participation in the delay of the closing of our home - stating that it was us who failed to provide loan documents to the title company. So, you're telling me that if there was proper oversight on the construction of our home (AKA painting it the correct color, and making sure that the windows are placed in the correct spots) that we would be in the same position now? What about if KB Home sent over our fully executed contract to **** Loans earlier so that way we can discover these discrepancies earlier? Is it our fault that we are constantly waiting on KB Home, KBHS Loans, US Bank, and construction to fix things on our end? I am sick of this.Review fromCharlie A

My experience with KB Homes has been extremely frustrating, and I deeply regret choosing them as my builder. Cracks appeared on the stucco before I even moved in, and despite bringing it to their attention, they refused to fix it, taking over a year to simply patch it up. The pipes are so loud when flushing the bathroom ***tairs, its incredibly disruptive. The walls are paper-thin, the floors squeak and are misaligned, and there are numerous paint touch-*** needed throughout the house. These are not minor issues, especially in a brand-new home. When I raised these concerns, one of the workers told me these problems were normal, which is absolutely ridiculous. I spent a significant amount of money on this home, and the quality is far from what I expected. I could write an essay on all the issues, but Ill leave it at this: I should have gone with another builder. KB Homes has been nothing but disappointing, both in construction quality and customer service.KB Home

They do not stand by the quality of their homes and use substandard contractors. Since I moved in to my new home, I had one toilet that wouldn't work because the workers decided to throw all the drywall trash down the drain pipe. As I noticed this immediately they did send someone to fix it but it should never have happened. Later when I had an issue with massive cracks on the exterior of the home, they tried to tell me it was not covered by my warranty and refused to talk to me. I had to file a complaint with their legal department to get this resolved. Currently, I found that they knowingly installed a cracked water pipe in my walls and tried to hide the crack with a ton of pipe glue instead of replacing the pipe with a non cracked pipe. When I contacted them with the issue they told me my house was no longer under warranty and refused to help. I am taking them to civil court over this issue. Be careful if you buy from them. They will take every short cut possible building the home and then try everything they can to not fix any issues you find.KB Home

On behalf of KB Home, I sincerely appreciate you bringing this complaint to our attention. We take complaints very seriously and regret that our customer is dissatisfied. Communication is very helpful to us as we strive to achieve complete customer satisfaction. On October *******, our customer service manager (CSM) received an email from our homeowner requesting reimbursement for work he had performed himself or by a non KB contractor in regard to a water leak. Pursuant to our KB Home Limited Warranty Agreement between KB Home and Owner, Owner is obligated to contact KB Home of any warranty issues so that KB Home may inspect first and, if applicable, make necessary warranty repairs. This homeowner did not contact KB Home in accordance with the terms of the KB Home Limited Warranty Agreement and went ahead and performed his own repairs. In addition, he did not report this incident before the expiration if his 10-year warranty period which expired in January of 2023. Based on the foregoing, KB is not in a position to assist this homeowner with this situation.A. B.

This was not a warranty issue. A warranty is when you build a hime correctly with non defective parts and then a part accidentally fails. When you build a home knowingly with a cracked water pipe, try to hide the crack with glue, and pray it outlasts the warranty, it is called fraud. However, a civil suit has been filed and you should be getting served this week. So we shall see who the court agrees with.Review fromAngela D

1 starIf you plan buying a house closed to a train track built by KB homes I'll advise never you make attempt. You will live miserably. I write this review with a heavy heart expressing my concern and deep frustration about the excessive train noise surrounding our new home, 15......77044 built by KB Homes. The constant noise and vibration has significantly impacted my quality of life and well-being. Prior to becoming a new homeowner, I have all the excitement, the dreams and passion to call a place a home. I relocated over a thousand miles with my family for the purpose of having a home unfortunately this excessive train noise and vibration to the house has turned this dream into nightmares, mental torture, depression, sleeplessness, anxiety and stress. This excessive noise and vibration has caused me sleepless night making me wake up in the middle of the night at every train that passes through 10 to 30 minutes. As a result I stay awake hoping to get back to sleep but another comes some minutes after. In the past months I've tried many options to see what can be done to reduce the excessive noise and vibration. To the point that I had to sleep in the masters bedroom closet. The last option was for my husband and I to bring in ********** to install and replace starting with the second floor windows to a sound proof one. The cost in replacing the master bedroom and toilet windows only is $5,250 and the total cost for the second floor windows is over $20,000 which we can't afford. During the project, when I realized there's a freight train track, I asked KB Homes staff if this will be a concern in future but I was told it won't be and once i'm inside the house, i won't hear the train noise. I was also informed, the train does not operate at night but this was false information given to us. Little did i know that my worst fear had just begun. As a construction company, I expected KB homes to make provision for sound barriers for houses built close to the train track.Review fromMichele L

1 starKB homes refuses to help me with my roof on my home that is under 2 years old just because an issue happened around the time of a hurricane. I have proof that this was before a hurricane even hit our area but they will not accept it and want me to go through insurance instead. Complete and utter BS from a warranty department on something that costs as much as a house!Review fromWhitney K

1 starFeb 2025 is our 4 year time in this KB Home. We are in ********* in *******, ** (suburb ***********). In the beginning small indoor issues were noticed & fixed in 90 days. At this point, our yard has continued to sink/settle and causing more bumps & dips in backyard. A lot of grass died. We made a garden area around A/C in backyard. Otherwise, yard would have completely sunk around small cement supporting it. We built up lots of plants along entrance to front door, yard would have sunk in that area too. Our backdoor had started to have rain leaking through it. We made a decision to buy much better quality back door for ourselves. When outdoor frame was removed it was rotting and splitting apart. It was pointed out that indoor or very cheap caulking was used around outside door frame. On our own, we noticed that garage door frame had caulking splitting. We have 4 corners of outside trim that is splitting from siding. Recently moving furniture in living room, we have noticed movement of one downstairs corner. Our master bathroom is upstairs and there is a noticeable splitting of sheetrock above doorframe and it no longer completely closes. We are well past the 1 year **** of living in this house.Review fromEileen S

KB Home uses cheap materials and subpar labor. Weve had massive issues with our home. Its taken 10 months to get all the repairs done. Weve had major plumbing, electrical, insulation, drainage, landscaping, floors, windows, closets, and stair problems. Unbelievably poor service from their warranty department! I would never buy another KB Home. I caution anyone who would buy from KB Home to not do it unless you want a tug of war to get necessary repairs done. I would give them less than 1 star if I could!KB Home
