      We were a direct hit with hurricane ***** supposed to go to ********* for my birthday Friday, we ask them for some options to cancel move dates & flat said nope, non refundable

      Minus 1M is my review. No star, NOTHING But their stupid system makes you pick a star, why not deal with reality that their operations are AWFUL and their management inept!!We arrived at IOP and Wild Dunes on Tuesday, May 14th. Our original rental with Avant Stay was at 513 Seascape. This building is encased from foundation to roof with scaffolding. We purchased a week with an ocean view. After closer inspection we could not see the ocean because the scaffolding engulfed the whole unit and the noise was intolerable. All workers wore hard hats, and we (guests) were supposed to enter elevators that were fenced off and noted as construction sites. We had no information of how to contact Avant Stay for the email confirm noted their Los Angeles address. My husband and I drove back to ****** ****** on IOP and went to where we had used years ago to find out where Avant Stay was located as there was NO external signage noting their company name. After over an hour, the sales agent, suggested we try 207 Summerhouse on IOP. So off we went to find yet again another building with construction. The side where our condo was situated was right next door to major construction that occurred from M-Saturday, 7 a.m. - 5 pm. We listened to the deafening generator when the power went off on IOP. The generator ran all day as the transformer blew. So after our first two days of vacation were spent dealing with the ineptness of the AvantStay staff, the fun continued!Daily items broke in the unit and it was obvious that AvantStay had not checked the units out prior because if they did they would realize the situation for both rentals and the items that were not working if they dare to troubleshoot and insure the unit was at full functioning capability. NEVER AGAIN WITH AVANTSTAY, THEY ARE AWFUL AND THEIR MANAGEMENT INEPT!!!!!

      In October 2023 our family booked a large vacation rental in *********, ** from AVANTSTAY through VRBO scheduled for October 2024, a full year in advance. I received an email in June 2024 telling me that the property was no longer available for short-term rental. They had no other comparable properties so I had to start my search all over again. When I told AVANTSTAY that this was not an acceptable practice, I was told that they "manage" the properties, they don't "own" them, so there was nothing they could do. This same situation happened a few years ago (a different VRBO property), and our entire family reunion had to be cancelled. What is the point of starting a year in advance to find a property when it can be cancelled at any time for any reason? The management companies and the property owners should honor their commitments.

      We booked our last-minute stay at AVANTSTAY ********************. We were scheduled to arrive on 5/31 and check out on 6/2. We arrived around 11 pm, the door was unlocked and open, and trash met us at the driveway, there was a reservation earlier in the day that checked out that morning. The home was never turned over. You pay a $700 hefty cleaning fee only to have to wash your own towels, wash your own sheets, sweep and mop the floors, clean the countertops and surfaces in the bathrooms. Items from the earlier reservation were still there. We filed a complaint on the important items on our list, a damaged tub, wrong access lock codes, and the trash that met us at the driveway. We understand it was late at night, but I followed up at 2:00 pm the next day and still had not heard from the local team. Wifi was not functioning, an entire mess. This was the first time our families had gotten together since COVID-19; it was such a disappointing experience. Such a gorgeous estate to be met with such poor customer service. The local team arrived four hours later after having to follow up frustrated that nobody had contacted us. Truly a nightmare of an experience. Imagine having to wash all of your linens before lying down. We couldn't sleep until 4:00 am the first night. If negative stars were allowed that's exactly what I would give.

      I had to cancel 2 days in advance due to serious illness. I offered to provide a physicians statement, however my request was denied. AvantStay has a strict and non-hospitable policy that full refunds must be requested 30 in advance. No exceptions, even though as one can see from the other reviews, occasionally AvantStay fins it necessary to cancel. Evidently, they would prefer their guests show up ill, thereby exposing other guests and housekeepers. This seems short-sighted.

Occasionally, we may have to cancel stays at specific homes, but when this does happen, we as a company do our best to find the guest a home that meets the guest's needs. We try to be understanding in everything, but we also have a cancelation/refund policy that we must adhere to.       We stayed in one of the cabin at *************************************************************. At first walk in the place looks really nice, until you start to check things out for yourself. First noticeable things was the long black hair and dirt on our pillowcase in the master bedroom. We had to remove them and wash them, they didnt smell fresh. Ceiling fan in the master bedroom needs to be fixed when on high it wobbles like its going to fall down. Also, there needs to be a curtain or blinds at the front door, not everyone feel comfortable with an open window. The master bedroom needs a better door with a lock having a barn door that slides is not enough privacy. The laundry room door kept getting stuck. The furniture in the living room is to low very uncomfortable. Some of the beds are to low and lumpy very uncomfortable. The toilet seat in the master bedroom and 2 other rooms was unbolted and wobbly. Need hand railing in showers to hold onto for elderly. Need shower Mats. Not enough towels and wash cloths for a large group.Windows in the bedrooms on the first floor and basement had water leaking in from the rain But the worst part about this trip was to be accused of bringing a dog and having dog hair on one of the beanbags in the entertainment room, which nobody ever used, and there was never a dog there we are not dog people. And then to try to charge us $578 for damages for so called dog hair on the bean bag after all we put up with in this cabin is ridiculous. All the damage in this cabin was there before we got there. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this cabin until they put some work into it to improve it.

      On our about January 1, 2024 I booked a vacation rental in *********, ** for December *****, 2024 via ****. On April 26th of 2024 I was contacted by the property manager, AvantStay, saying they double booked my rental due to a "synchronization" issue between various booking vendors (VRBO type venders). They offered an alternative property that was substandard and not even in *********. The property I booked was two blocks from the "Town Ski Lift." They offered a property that was "driving distance" from the ********************. Of course, now finding a comparable property at a comparable price is nearly impossible. I most certainly will not be doing any business with ********* in the future.

      In January 2024, I booked a AvantStay rental property in ******** for December 2024. I was notified at the end of April 2024 that my reservation was cancelled due to a synchronization issue. When I followed up they clarified that they had priced the property lower than it should have been. The property is now listed for rent at $800 more per night than our confirmed reservation. This is a disgraceful business practice to get more money for a product that has already been sold. We are now scrambling to find a rental property for our large family over the holidays since they notified us of the cancellation nearly 5 months after we booked.

      Booked a stay through AvantStay and Marriott. We had immediate issues upon arrival including many broken items, filthy furniture, AC not working properly and many more. We called for maintenance, which came the following day, and they were unable to fix any of the items. I have followed up every day, via email and text, without any resolutions. If I could give less than one star, I would. So very disappointed in the customer service and lack of resolving the issues.

      Booked a house through Avantstay but the day before check-in I got an email saying they had to cancel my reservation because of a broken water heater. Why wouldn't you CALL instead of just emailing? My reservation was less than 2 days away, call and leave a voicemail. I called Avantstay immediately after I saw the email and the call gets routed to some overseas call center. The person can't help and says they'll reach out to the **** that handles this and I should hear back within the hour. 1.5 hours later I still haven't received a callback so I call again. Same response, said I should hear back in an hour. 1.5 hours later, still no call, I call again, now they say I should receive a call by 5pm (5.5 hours later). My check-in date is the NEXT DAY! 5pm might be too late because what if they don't call me back and everyone goes home for the day? Then they change their answer to someone will call back in an hour. But I've heard that one before.FINALLY someone who can help calls back and finds me a replacement property. After we ****** I discover a hiccup. One of the families staying with us was planning to bring their dog they noticed that the new property doesn't allow pets. We paid a pet deposit so this is something that Avantstay should've caught and pointed out. That family had to find a last minute accommodation for their dog so that was another added inconvenience.Another hiccup: I was told I'd receive check-in instructions the next morning. On the way to the property my wife asks for the details of how to get inside the property so she could send it to the other families. Realized I didn't receive those details. Had to call Avantstay once again. Another inconvenience.This is all BEFORE we even stepped foot onto the property. While on the property we discovered someone was MURDERED in that house. This spooked everyone and no one was able to sleep well. "Unparalleled service", yeah right. Stay away from Avantstay.
