    I opened an immigration case with this company on 08/2020. I paid **** to get the case started. On 11/2020 They asked me to mail a $35 money order to get police records. Which I did . On 03/2021 I got a call from a lawyer saying they were still waiting for the records. On 3/2022 I was asked to mail another $35 for police records. which I did again. On 11/2022 I went to ask what if anything was going on with my case. I was told, they were still waiting on police records. I asked to cancel my case and a refund. they said to wait a few weeks and some one would contact me. next day they called stating they finally got the police reports and I didnt qualify. However, they were looking at the wrong police report. On 12/10/2022 I received an itemized invoice for $2427 of everything they had done with my case. Not only was I not gonna receive our money back, but I now have an outstanding balance.

    1/28/22, 1/29/22, 4/21/22, 4/25/22, 4/26/22. 11,000 has been sent for******************************* case filing I-918 form for ******* They promised before 6 months starting January it's been longer than 6 months. Nothing has been done they have lost documents several times. They changed our lawyer 2 times have to start over every time. They didn't reach us for a while and when I called they sent our case from ****************************** without letting us know changing our lawyer once again losing several documents asking us to send again. I talked to them asking them to cancel and I would like our money back. I would like to get my money back and our documents.

I don't accept they're response. They're charging us for the police report, but we had the police report in less of a week we gave it to them they didn't have to do no work on looking for it. Also, I would like to get the psychologist report papers back as well.

    On May 27, 2022 I retained liga defensores (a lawyers group) ************************************************** for a criminal matter. I was promised they would talk to my son that same day or next day Saturday in the morning, which was not done. I immediately tried calling them and sent an email of termination. On 5/30/22 I received an email of my approved cancellation. I was told that I would get my refund within 21 business days. Today is June 27, 2022 and I've yet to receive my refund of $********. Please advise on what else I can do. I will also be sending a complain to the Lawyers state board of California.

    Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/01) */ On May 27, 2022, the consumer retained Liga Defensora to represent her son in a felony DUI (Driving Under the Influence) case in which a third party was injured. It quickly developed that a second DUI case had been pending for which a warrant had been issued but for which Liga Defensora had not been retained. The written retainer for only one of the DUI cases was memorialized in a written agreement and dated May 27, 2022. On May 30, 2022, three days later, the consumer called Lega Defensora to cancel the retainer on the ground that she had not been able to reach the law firm over the weekend. The law firm has no record of these attempts. Nevertheless, a full refund was made to the consumer by check dated June 27, 2022 in the amount of $******** upon receipt of a writing requesting cancellation of the retainer. The consumer was advised on June 14, 2022 that the refund request had been received and was being processed. As of this writing this writer is informed that the check payable to the consumer in the amount of $******** has been negotiated and cashed so that the full refund has been made. While we regret any delay in responding to the consumer's inquiries, we believe that this matter was handled properly and in a timely manner. I have not as of today July 1 received a refund of $******** from lugs defensora. I have included emails to them of my cancellation and the acknowledgement of them accepting my cancellation. I will also be sending a complaint to the California state Board of there complete failure of giving me my refund. They are lying to you. On June 27, 2022 at 10:03am I spoke to ****** and she told me I would have to wait another 2 weeks for my refund. She also refused to transfer me to a supervisor by the name of ******. On June 30, 2022 at 8:47 I received a call from ********* saying that I needed to reach customer service that they would handle my refund. Please advise on what other steps you need me to do. Thank you ************* Consumer Response /* (2000, 9, 2022/07/03) */ On July 2, I received my refund from La Liga Defensora, The check was dated for June 27, 2022 the same day I complained to BBC. The check was actually mailed out on July 1 per **** envelope stamp. I do believe that my refund was only given because of my complain. Thank you to the BBC for your prompt response. I have also sent a complaint to The State Bar of California.
