On Thursday 6/29/23 I was shopping online for an ******** Tortoise to purchase. I came across the Tortoise Mart through my ****** search and emailed the owner to inquire about availability. The owner responded promptly via email that the product I was looking for was in stock and to go ahead and place my order on the website. I places my order and was soon texted by the number listed on the website to discuss payment, delivery, and tortoise care such as food. I was told to pay with ***** or Cash app and they provided me with the payment information. I paid 250 for the tortoise and 35 dollars for overnight shipping. The individual sent me the tracking number and stated the tortoise would be delivered on 7/3. On 7/3 I received an email from the freight carrier asking for 250 dollars to deliver the tortoise. I texted the number and suggested a scam I refused to pay the additional fees and they refused to deliver my tortoise. The number later sent me pictures of another person claiming to have my money and told me to threaten him with the police. I will attach copies of all information, conversations, etc so you can follow. Not all pictures will upload due to file size but if you want more than I have attached, i will send them separately. I have not gotten a refund or the tortoise.
