It is an absolute scam. You will pay more, they will not warranty equipment, you will be a lot more out of pocket than just paying the power bill. My Last SCE bill was almost $700, the system is working properly and I had to pay out of pocket to replace the inverter that went bad for the second time in 5 years. These costs are on top of the $280 I pay for the solar panels! My electric bill went from around $200 a month to almost a $1000. SCAM!!! I would give back the equipment if I could or take the company that sold it to me to court but of course they closed their doors shortly after installation. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!!!

Thank you for contacting Clean Power Alliance. The Clean Power Alliance (CPA) generation charges for the billing period 1/15/2025 to 2/13/2025 are $30.31. *** is not associated with the solar equipment referred to in the complaint. The customer's last bill was almost $700 due to their SCE settlement bill from 02/15/2024 to 02/13/2025. The billing statement indicates, "Your 12-month billing period for ********** Metering (NEM) is now complete. Your 12-month settlement charges are $615.94. You are billed annually for your energy charges because they can be offset by energy credits over your 12-month billing period. Any charges not offset by credits are due now." For additional settlement details, please get in touch with SCE or visit **********************************************************************************************************************.

CLEAN POWER ALLIANCE IS A TOTAL SCAM!!I arm being charged by Clean Power Alliance for producing 100% Green Power and my electricity bills are almost double. I pay monthly usage charges to Southern California ****** so that my final bill at the end of the year is almost paid up. The last settlement bill which I thought was going to be for $264.48 was actually $2,568.13. My monthly payments I had made to SCE throughout the year totaled $2,458.39 and I truly thought that there was an error of $1,947.9 on my settlement bill but found out that the year's Delivery Charges from Clean Power Alliance was an extra charge of $2166.90 which I had to pay. Can you imagine paying $5,026.52 for one year of power plus another $1,526.40 annually for leasing Solar Panels? TAD K

Dear ***********************************, Clean Power Alliance provides electric generation by purchasing power on your behalf. SCE continues to deliver your electricity, read your electric meter, send you one monthly bill, and provide the same maintenance.Clean Power Alliance ********** Metering (NEM) customers pay applicable energy charges net of credits monthly, and SCE delivery charges are billed annually. The charges you mentioned refer to your settlement bill prepared on 02/14/2024, which includes your CPA generation charges of $228.93 for the billing period 01/11/2024 to 02/11/2024 and SCEs delivery charges of $2,832.61 for billing periods 02/11/2023 to 02/11/2024. Customers are automatically enrolled in the energy option selected by their community but can change to another energy option at any time. Thank you for contacting Clean Power Alliance (CPA). We want to confirm that the phone calls you received are not affiliated with CPA. We believe they are scammers impersonating our employees. We contact customers who request a phone call or have recently applied to one of our programs. A person not in one of these situations would not receive a call. Thank you for notifying us, and we are sorry for your recent experience.

According to SDG&E's website, my bill is up 1051% since last year, with no changes in habits. Only change is being placed under this "Clean Power Alliance" program. WHAT IS GOING ON!? I am also a solar customer, and I now have a $1700 true up bill due, when I would not have normally.

The review was intended for Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) not Clean Power Alliance (CPA).

Per SDGE's website, only two CCA serve customers within SDG&Es service territory, Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) and ********* Community Power (SDCP).  Thank you.

Clean Power Alliance is a total scam. My home has 32 solar panels on it and has always been net positive. Historically I have always had a net credit on my 12-month settlement bill with SCE. This year I OWE SCE $1943.41 even though we are VERY net positive on kwh output. Total BS. CPA does NOT credit the excess energy back to SCE apparently. This is a con and the people running it should be indicted.

Prior to having service with GPA, my SCE bill went from no more than $30.00 per month to $79.00 per month. I hope the city council members that authorized this will be reprimanded for creating an extra expense for those on a fixed income. The merger should have never happened. I will never (again) vote for the city council members that authorized this merger. I am opting out asap.

CPA is not treating NEM customer's fairly and is not paying customers for net surplus energy.
    1.0 CPA NEM POLICY
If you have produced net surplus energy at the time of annual true up, CPA will mail you a check for net surplus credit greater than $100, calculated at the current NSC rate. An NSC of less than $100 will roll over for the next relevant period, and any remaining energy credits that were not refunded are reset to zero for the start of the new relevant period.
    2.0 UNFAIR
    • NEM Customers with surplus (credit greater than $100) gets paid via check.
    • NEM Customers with surplus credit (less than $100 ) gets a roll over to next relevant period.
o NEM Customers who has no remaining energy credits benefit from roll over (paid out).
o Customers who have surplus remaining energy credits beyond the roll over amount
do not benefit at all. (CPA is getting FREE energy) Customer's system generated enough monthly energy and does not require the roll over credit; CPA did not pay the customer for net surplus energy. CPA needs to payout "all" customers.

For two years, I received a NSC roll over credit less than $100. During annual true up my total credit is in excess of the roll over NSC credit and is zeroed out. I did not have to use the NSC roll over credit. In reality, CPA is not paying me for surplus credit, instead deceiving me and other customers they are by roll over. (AND CPA GETS FREE ENERGY)

We apologize for your negative experience with Clean Power Alliance's (CPA) Net Energy Metering (NEM) program. Solar customers are an important part of our vision of a greener future and CPA strives to support our solar customers as much as possible. Your review includes concerns about our NEM program, we wanted to provide some specific details regarding this program.

Clean Power Alliance will true up all customers on an annual basis each April, rather than on a unique date for each customer. During the April monthly billing cycle of each year, any current customer who has a combined NEM generation credit and Net Surplus Compensation value of $100 or more, as determined during the Annual True-Up process, that exceeds any outstanding charges, will be sent a payment by check via U.S. Mail to the customer's U.S. mailing address on file at the time of mailing for the credit balance on their account, as determined through CPA's Annual True-Up process. Customers receiving direct payment will have an equivalent amount removed from their NEM account balance at the time of check issuance. In the event that customers do not have a combined NEM generation credit and Net Surplus Compensation value exceeding $100, such credit balance will be carried forward to offset future CPA charges. All NEM accounts will be reset to zero kilowatt hours annually as of the customer's May monthly billing cycle and the only NEM credits that will be carried forward on the customer's account will be the combined NEM generation credit and Net Surplus Compensation credit balances less than $100. Clean Power Alliance customers pay their bill each month instead of once a year as is the default in SCE's NEM program for some types of customers. The amount you are charged or credited depends on your energy rate product. CPA has three rate products: Lean Power, Clean Power, and 100% Green power. CPA customers can change this rate at any time to the option that works best for them. In addition to these rate product options CPA provides a Net Surplus Compensation (NSC) rate that is always 10% more than SCE's most recent NSC rate.

Our NEM policy is available on our website https://cleanpoweralliance.org/nem/. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 888-585-3788 Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm or via email ***************@cleanpoweralliance.org.

CPA NEM roll over process is the problem.and needs correction. As stated CPA is not paying me for surplus credit, instead deceiving me and other customers they are paying by the roll over process.

(In the event that customers do not have a combined NEM generation credit and Net Surplus Compensation value exceeding $100, such credit balance will be carried forward to offset future CPA charges. All NEM accounts will be reset to zero kilowatt hours annually as of the customer's May monthly billing cycle and the only NEM credits that will be carried forward on the customer's account will be the combined NEM generation credit and Net Surplus Compensation credit balances less than $100.)

    MY EXAMPLE
Net Surplus Compensation credit was $31.12 (NSC Rollover 2021). This was added to May's NEM generation credit. My NEM Credit balance(7/14/21) is $177.56 (which includes the NSC $31.12). My NEM credit balance (2/13/22) is $203.81 (which includes NSC $31.12). My NEM credit balance (4/13/22) is $231.71 (which includes NSC $31.12). All NEM accounts will be reset to zero kilowatt hours annually as of the customer's May monthly billing cycle. My NEM credit balance (5/15/22) is $70.94 (which includes NSC 2022 NSC rollover $26.34 and May NEM Credit balance.

CPA ZEROED my Net Surplus Compensation credit of $31.12 (2021)
Next year May 2023, my Net Surplus Compensation credit of $26.34 (2023) will be ZEROED.

    CPA owes me $57.46,
