    I paid for a speed dating event online. I showed up to the speed dating event and found out it had been canceled by email less than 24 hours before. No phone call. Then I go reschedule. I checked to confirm the night before and they had sent out cancellations but failed to mention it to me since I was someone who rescheduled. Would have been stood up twice. I asked for a refund and I am being denied a refund. Im not scheduling another event for it to get cancelled without proper notice. I want a refund.Based on other complaints online, they do this to everyone.

    We're sorry the buyer has had trouble attending our events in *****. To clarify; upon confirmation we do urge daters to check their email for any updates and changes that may occur. We notified you as we did the remaining guests that did not wish to reschedule. While we appreciate the buyer's inconvenience, rescheduled events are the result of fellow daters needing to reschedule. We give as much notice as we receive.

    With events in over 60 cities for nearly 20 years - we have a staff available 24/7. At any given moment, we are having an event somewhere across the world. 

    We do not dictate which events are rescheduled. It is an inconvenience to our venues, staff, hosts and most of all - daters such as yourself. 

    And while we appreciate there may be a handful of daters who become upset that we allow others to reschedule - we can assure you there would be far more upset daters than the few we have if we did not let daters reschedule because of illness, work conflicts or personal issues that may arise. We hope you understand. 

    As well - daters always have the option of reaching out for refunds via their ticket provider such as **********, **********, Humanitix or TicketSpice.

    My friend and I signed up for speed dating but the events keep getting cancelled or rescheduled and its been three times now? - I have about ten emails back and forth with the promoter and I just dont think this is an actual service or company. The company refused to offer a refund, just keeps telling me to sign up for the next event. But they keep getting cancelled.The first date was for Saturday 1/18, Then it was cancelled, and I said I could attend the 2/1 event. That got cancelled and so I said ok- Ill attend the 2/8 event and Friday 2/7 they told me that was cancelled and Ill have to reschedule. just get an email from this one guy named **** saying that were sorry we need to cancel the event and you can reschedule for a new one etc. No last name, just a first name.

We do take an understanding approach to daters rescheduling and do note this can upset some.


    Daters do always have the option of reaching out directly to their ticket provider such as **********, ********** or Humanitix for assistance with refunds. These companies are our ticket processors and are the best solution for any issues one may have with refund requests.     We signed up for an event on 01/18. We did not realize this was a scam. We should have read all the reviews of other people saying they were scammed. The event was suppose to be 6PM to 8PM. The event organizer did not show up until 7PM. They forgot to book the venue upstairs so she just pushed together 4 tiny tables in a loud crowded sports bar and just told us to start talking to each other. We could not hear each other because the sports bar has their own sporting event going on. This is not what we paid for. The event barely lasted 40 minutes. We paid for 2 hours of speed dating. The owner refuses to give us a refund. He offered another event free but from the reviews it seems like they constantly cancel the events and keep the money.

    We're sorry the buyer is upset; She attended an event with nine ladies and 8 gents in *******. The buyer selected one gent she wished to meet again. Unfortunately, this particular dater did not wish to meet her again. We understand how frustrating rejection can be and how challenging dating in general can be. We did not 'forget' to book with the venue otherwise the buyer would not have been welcomed as she was. As the buyer felt the event or expectations of matches was not what she had hoped - we did offer the opportunity to attend another event. There are a handful of daters who are upset at our refund policy in that we are understanding of daters when they need to reschedule. As the buyer did not experience a rescheduled event - we are confused by the reference. Regardless - we are sorry the buyer is upset. It can be upsetting to put oneself out there only to be met with rejection.

    I purchased a matchmaking package in April 2024 which included four matches. As of December 2024, I have been matched with one person, who while nice, did not align with basic compatibility points I expressed (age range, race, family aspirations). Notably, it took months of emailing and requesting a refund to even get the one match. Although the company quickly responds to emails, the only purpose appears to be to stall or to drive traffic to their speed dating events. One incompatible match in over 8 months, especially in a market as big as NYC, is very unreasonable.

    The buyer purchased our Blind-Date Matchmaking & Events package. The buyer was matched with 2 individuals whom we felt met her preferences. For the first match, the buyer stated she 'felt the date match was nice, unfortunately there was no chemistry.' We can not account for chemistry when we match daters. This is what makes chemistry so special and is naturally subjective. The individual whom the buyer met, stated 'we are going to continue to go out'. 

    With respect to the second match; The buyer declined and expressed that while both wanted to be married soon, the potential match was unsure of the buyer's insistence of being married and having children so quickly. Dating takes time and daters tend to be apprehensive of those who want to skip the stages of dating and relationships and move straight to marriage and children. 

    We also note the buyer attended zero of our events. Attending events is part of the buyer's package and we highly recommend daters attend at no cost to them. We often hear from potential matches if who they are going to meet has attended events. Not attending events typically expresses to others a lack of confidence in oneself and a fear of rejection. 

    We're happy to continue to help the buyer and appreciate the challenges dating can bring. The buyer need only reach out to us and we would be excited at the opportunity to continue to work for the buyer.

    I am rejecting this response because: (1) it is factually inaccurate and (2) doesn't adequately respond to the issue of a matchmaking service that does not match you.  As an initial matter, I was only matched with one person - who ended up being nearly a decade older than my stated age preference AND what I was told by the company was his age, among other things.  There was an offer for one other potential match, which, on paper, was clearly not someone I would be compatible with.  It's unclear why the business mentioned the potential match - who I never met or communicated with in any way, and who I could not contact even if I wanted to since all communication is through the business - said I was insistent on marriage too soon.  How, and why, would the match say that about me - a stranger they've had zero contact with?  Or is the company admitting to offering me a potential match who had already expressed he didn't think we'd be a good match based on what the company shared about me?  In either case, the alleged statement of the potential match, if it even occurred, is evidence that the company attempted to match people who are not on the same page with relationship goals.  Notably, both the matched date and the potential match were offered to me on the same day, and only after approximately 4 emails (over as many months) inquiring about any matches.  These were the only two matches offered since the matchmaking service was purchased.  

    Although matchmaking should certainly not be rushed, we are now at approximately 9 months with one match - one match in one of the largest dating markets in the country.  Although the company faults me for not going to speed dating events that were offered, I didn't purchase an unlimited speed dating service.  My simple request was for the company to deliver on the service they advertised - matchmaking. 

    Finally, and perhaps most telling about the company's irresponsible handling of their customers, is the effort to equate not attending speed dating events with insecurity.  Besides being nonsensical - because why would a potential match know that I haven't attended the (from what I hear often cancelled) speed dating events, this accusation is quite transparently an effort to turn attention away from their failure to deliver on the promised service.

    Once again, the buyer did purchase our Blind-Date & Events package. The buyer states she did not purchase an events package - when in fact she did. 

    In review of our interactions with the buyer:

As we stated this is not common and is a popular question among our matchmaking daters whom we inquire to about possible matches. The company offers our services in 60 cities and has for 18 years. Typically with 1-4 events a week in each of our 60 cities. There are times when events are rescheduled at the request of fellow daters. We are understanding of our daters and their rescheduling needs. This is quite rare and we do understand this can at times be frustrating for daters. Those who appreciate our understanding considerably outweigh the few who become upset at our policies. 

    As we have illustrated extensively - we have attempted multiple times and through multiple avenues in both the offering of matches and the offering to attend our events at no additional cost - as this is the service the buyer purchased. The buyer seems to ignore the notion that daters have to want to meet her as well and they often ask many questions in deciding if they wish to. Daters are not items off a shelf we can simply send to the buyer as she wishes. 
    Regardless - if the buyer would like to reach out to us, we would be most happy to assist.

    They canceled on me. And they continue to cancel on me. They lie about his services they never host any events they just lie.

    Buyer purchased a single event that was unfortunately rescheduled at the request of fellow daters. The buyer was rescheduled for one (1) event. We do take an understanding approach to last minute reschedule events as we would do for the buyer. With so many events, there is always another around the corner. Buyer expressed to us that due to having a 'girlfriend' - rescheduling was not an option. We are not for those that are in a relationship or looking for anything other than to meet a compatible mate for a relationship. This is simply misuse of the service. Buyers always have the option of reaching out to their ticket provider for additional assistance. In the past 4 months - we have held over 50 events in the ***** area. Here is a list for reference:

    I paid for a ticket for a speed dating even and it got cancelled. The company requested I reschedule to another event so I did. And that event got cancelled as well. I requested a refund because I was not provided the service I paid for. The company refused the refund and requested I reschedule again. When I expressed frustration over having planned my day off around attending this event, just to have it cancelled less than 24 hrs before, they were not willing to offer any sort of meaningful solution. Instead, they requested that I reschedule to another event yet again and gave me another ticket. A free ticket to an event that gets cancelled every time is meaningless. I do not trust this organization will actually ever host the event I paid for so as far as I am concerned, this is fraud.

Unlike other companies - if a group of daters reschedule limiting the group to a small number, we would rather remove the event from the schedule than have a very small amount of daters.     This "dating service" is inept at best, but truely just a scam.I signed up for a 4x dating package almost two years ago. Over that time they connected me with only 2 "dates", that were women with whom we had absolutely no connection, nothing in common, no physical attraction, and no potential for connection.It is extremely clear that they absolutely do not care what their daters are looking for, and are thereby not a "matchmaking" service. I regret every ***** I gave them, and regret every bit of emotional energy wasted hoping for connection from their "dating service".Also, they refuse to give refund when after years time they have not arranged the agreed 4x dates. They are scammers. Avoid this company.

    We're sorry the buyer is so upset; let us address his concerns. For the buyers first match, we never received any feedback that would lead us to believe the buyer did not enjoy his date. For the buyer's second date in which we arranged we noted quite a number of commonalities including both wanting children one day, one being currently a teacher and the other a previous school teacher. Both lead extremely active lifestyles including camping, cycling and playing volleyball and pickleball. We are sorry the buyer's matches did not fancy him. We also note the buyer attended two events with us as part of his package - where unfortunately there was no interest by the ladies in attendance. We absolutely appreciate how frustrating and disheartening this can be. 

    We recommended the buyer continue to attend events as they are part of your package and perhaps the buyer could gain more confidence and matches. The buyer declined. In the time the buyer has signed up for his Blind-Date Matchmaking and events package - we have held over 100 events in the ****** area and the buyer was welcome to them all. 

    Such things as attraction - can not be quantified. We match primarily on interests, goals and what we find to be a suitable match for a lovely date arranged by us. If the buyer would like to reach out directly to us - we would more than welcome the opportunity.

    I bought a matchmaking package from this company which agreed to set me up on two dates I believe. I began working with them in January 2024 and have not had a single date as of late July 2024.The company finds the people and then sets up the dates by communicating with both people separately. I received information about two potential matches and agreed to go out with both of them and provided days/times/locations as asked. The company failed to make either date happen.The last time I heard from the representative I was dealing with was in **** **** I asked for a refund, the representative told me they dont offer this. She also said I had to be patient as they try to find people that meet my criteria. I think six months is long enough to find one date.

    We are sorry the buyer is upset. The buyer purchased one of our Blind-Date Matchmaking & Events packages ($289.51) consisting of two arranged dates and unlimited events throughout. In regards to the possible two matches we sent the buyer, one did find the proposed location was too far and elected to meet another of our Matchmaking clients instead. For the second, we did not hear back in time to assist in matching with the buyer. 

    The buyer does have extremely specific requests that fall outside that in which we specialize in and outside of what we offer in our service. The buyer at 52 years old is older than that of our events and therefore the majority of our daters and his request to meet someone that is divorced and has children, is a specificity that exceeds that of preferences. As a result, the time it may take to find a suitable match is naturally extended as we stated to the buyer. 

    As described in detail on our website, our Matchmaking & Events packages are a lovely way to meet someone who shares your preferences, hobbies and aspects of your lifestyle for a night arranged by us.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I paid for a service I havent received which was two dates. 

    The package doesnt say that the company will attempt to find me two dates for the fee. It says I will go on two dates.

    I have gone on zero in six months.

    Thats the bottom line. 

    As far as the rest of the response goes, I find dozens of people everyday on dating apps who fit my criteria of women divorced with children who are within 10 years of my age. Im sure I even mentioned an age range.

    This is not challenging to find.

    If you thought this was too hard for you and/or I was too old for your pool of daters, you should have said so and not accepted my money.

    You didn't do this.

    You did say it would take some time, but have failed to arrange one date in six months and have not presented me with any possibilities in three months. 

    This is totally unacceptable. 

    Please refund my payment.

    We are happy to see the buyer acknowledge his challenges and requests that fall outside of that in which we specialize in and cater to which as a result - would extend the time for a potential match. 

    As we stated to the buyer and is very clear on our website, the ages of our matchmaking daters reflect that of our events. We do not use dating apps or other methods such as *********** LinkedIn or other means to find daters. They are drawn from those that register with our Matchmaking and/or our speed dating events - as we are a speed dating & matchmaking company. 

    Those who are within the ages of our events tend to not be divorced with children - which was your request and as we explained to you. As well, we note you live outside the city of *********, which also presents its own challenges which is reflected on the two dates who discovered you did not live close by. 

    We urge all buyers for any product or service to ask questions prior to their purchase. We are happy to assist and can be found 24/7 at *************************** or 866 We Speed. 

    Once again, we clearly stated how our service works and the challenges you would inherently face. We offer a lovely service based on preferences, hobbies, goals and commonalities. Such a specific request that falls outside of our age range and falls outside of the service we offer as expressed to you.

    In December 2023 I paid over $500 for their service, which advertised to include finding 4 women that would be potentially compatible for me to date. (in addition to being able to attend their local speed dating events which often get cancelled at the last minute) The following day the price dropped almost $100 and they declined my request to refund me the difference. Now in May, almost 5 months after signing up, they have done nothing in terms of fulfilling the service they claim to offer. Not one potential date. I have emailed and tried to call to request a refund, since they are not delivering the service I paid for. Through email they continually decline to provide a refund. I have attempted to call who I think is the owner (****** at ************) but calls go to voicemail. There is no contact number to speak with a human otherwise, only email replies - which may even be bot driven now. This business seems like a scam. I just want my money back as they are not delivering the service I paid for

    Let us address the buyer's concerns;

    Prior to the buyer purchasing his Blind-Date *********** and Events Package, we did reach out to the buyer upon his inquiry about the package. The buyer had expressed his age of 53 and we stated that as reflected on the website - our ages for our *********** tend to reflect those from our events. Unlike other *********** services who search for daters from ******************** or the local gym, our *********** daters are curated from our events and as a result - the ages for our *********** program reflect the same. The company made sure the buyer understood this, urged the buyer to once again read over the site prior to his purchase so he fully understood. We also stated that as his age was outside of that in which we specialize in - the time it may take to find a potential match may be greater. As a company, we can not turn away anyone based on age - as that would be discrimination. What we do instead - is firmly let those that fall outside of our typical age ranges, that it may take a bit longer to find suitable matches because of the age challenge. 

    With respect to events being cancelled - just in the last few months we have held 20 events in ******, to which the buyer attended 3 and unfortunately only matched at one event. Here is a list of our most recent events in *******

    I purchased a matchmaking package six years ago. In that time, I went on one date who didn't fit any of my desired qualities. I was stood up once as well - most likely a fictional person the company concocted. This company is a poster child for services not rendered.

    We are sorry the buyer is upset; let us address his concerns; 

    We reflect the buyer purchasing his Blind-Date Matchmaking & Events package shortly before the pandemic. Despite this - we do show the buyer refused 2 ladies who wished to meet him. We also show that for one of the matches whom he met - he stated 'she was only there for a free meal'. We do have a zero tolerance for daters insulting each other - it is unnecessary, offensive and can be indicative of other problems at hand. For another match the buyer was set to meet, the lady we believe saw the buyer and based on her initial feelings - elected to not meet the buyer. 

    We also show the buyer has attended two events - where he received matches at both events. 

    The company holds approx. 5-6 events a month in ****** and the buyer is welcome to them all. All we would ask is that the buyer treat the ladies at the events with the same courtesy he would ask of others. Below are 17 events we have held in ****** the last few months alone.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Providing incompatible matches that by any standard of reasonableness would not work is a failure of the company; placing blame on me falsely shifts responsibility. It's not an insult to state that a match attended for a free meal - if provided a comprehensive profile, incompatibility would be self-evident and my claim is further supported by the match choosing an expensive restaurant instead of a more reasonable coffee or drinks date. Furthermore, admonishing someone for what you perceive as an insult (but was not) but then insulting them (based on unfounded claims) in the following paragraph is hypocrisy at its finest. This barely scratches the surface of this company's misconduct. My settlement offer is as follows: the company deletes all of my data and signs a privacy agreement in exchange for me dropping my claim.

    ***** was presented detailed information with respect to his matches and agreed to meet. In particular, the lady with whom the buyer states only went on the date for a 'free meal'. ***** had the opportunity to voice any concerns with respect to his potential date or potential venue. At no time, did the buyer voice concern over either. We can appreciate dating is hard and highly emotional. However, we don't believe rejection should equate to one being out for a 'free meal'. Once again - the buyer had every opportunity to discuss more about his potential date and could have suggested places more comfortable for him. Only after being rejected, did the buyer suddenly become angry at his date, and in turn, angry at the company.

    The business' reply is untruthful as they withheld pertinent information that would've altered my decision process. Furthermore, the business did not address my resolution proposal or any course of resolution for that matter.
