Mechanic Supervisor covered up bad repairs on my vehicle. I took my vehicle in due to raddling sound in the front when accelerating. They determined it was due to worned engine mounts. They fixed the problem by replacing them. It was completed on a Friday and the very next day while driving the car, it was misfiring and a burned smell was coming out of the engine. We stopped the vehicle immediately and had it towed to Alfred Matthews GMC in Modesto.They checked it and determined one of the electrical coils to the cylinder needed to be replaced. I noticed this particular coil happened to be almost directly above one of the engine mounts. I told the supervisor it seems coincidental that the electronic coil that went bad was near one of the engine mounts. We never had any problems with the electronic coils.They repaired it for free. But in the process of repairing the coil, the three catalytic converters went bad while they were making the repairs to the coil. They informed me that I would need to replace them at my expense. We never had any problems with the catalytic converters. The supervisor even mentioned to me that possibly when the electronic coil burned it might have caused back pressure to the catalytic converters. But he quickly mentioned that he was only speculating.Now I had to pay for the replacement of the three converters which ran almost $2,000. After they replaced them I drove the vehicle home. On the way home I noticed the vehicle occasionally hestitated when accelerating. It had never done that before. I took it back to Alfred Matthews. They informed me now that the torque converter needed to be replaced and that it would run about $1,600. To this day, I have not it replaced because when I asked them to replace it but give me a break on the cost because I already have spent over $4,000. They refused to negotiate and informed me that they did not want to ever service my vehicle again.
