1 starCanceled my subscription before the 7 days, and they are still attempting to take $60 from my account. I reached out via the chat within the app and got all AI generated responses. It confirms my subscription cancelation and tells me that the engineering department is aware of my issue and I shouldn't have to worry about taking anything again. Today was my second day contacting them about itReview fromJenna T

1 starThis scam company just stole $50 from me. I canceled my membership on June 11, 2024. Apparently, canceling your membership doesn't mean your certificate charges are canceled as well. Hidden charges. *************.Review fromAdam C

1 starI am very frustrated with this company. I signed up for an online course. I completed many hours of the course, all online. Then the final exam was expected to be completed on different software. That software in not compatible with my computer. So I went to their website to look for help. There is no phone number ANYWHERE, there is no chat option... they just keep sending you back to links of troubleshooting tips. Even when I submitted a ticket (their only option to request help) they just replied with links. This is unacceptable. They literally have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE at all.Review fromLuis F

1 starI recently completed the ****** Cybersecurity Professional Certificate Course with Coursera. I started the free trial on October 15, 2024, and completed the course on October 21, 2024. Which was all within the free trial timeframe. I was informed by the end of the course that I should have been receiving my certificate within a week. Long behold it has been way past a week, and I never received my certificate. I proceed to go onto ************************** just to make sure it was nothing on my end. Just to come and see that I need to pay a 49$ subscription fee to unlock my certificate. It was not stated prior that I needed to remain subscribed after my free trial ended in order to get my certificate. I believe this to be extremely misleading. Considering I completed the course during the free trial period, I expected to receive my certificate without additional charges. It's concerning that I was not informed of this requirement at the time of cancellation. This just completely cancels out the idea of a free trial, if my certificate is going to be locked behind a 49$ subscription fee. I reached out to support, and they informed me that they were going to get me in contact with a human representative and I never heard back from them. Instead, they decided to just close out the ticket regarding the matter at hand. I hope this information helps everyone else before deciding to take a course through Coursera!Review fromAngela J

1 starI signed up for the sole purpose of taking a ********* course to enhance my knowledge of the software. I set up a username and password. I had a few successful logins during the trial period in which I was still unable to find the appropriate course to take. I went in with the same username and password to try again and find the course(s), but the 2-step authentication was turned on and I can't get into the account any longer. I've been billed every month, $49 for several months but have requested a cancellation and refund. There is no customer service or way to reach them for cancellation or refund without login into your account which I'm unable to do. I've communicated to them via email but their response to my request to remove the authentication feature goes unanswered. Every response is an automated one. No real person to speak with. I finally requested a refund since I've yet to get in and find a course. No answer. I don't know why business like these are allowed to operate at all.Review fromChris H

1 starI was charged the day I signed up for their courses on instagram. I received no confirmation email, no invoice and no access or login to their lessons. There were no contacts on their website for "learners", simply resource pages that for the most part required a login for resolution. I managed to find a "privacy@" email through significant research. My first email attempt to resolve the issue was met with "visit our resource pages". Later emails were not responded to. I ended up having to file a complaint with my bank for the refund and to block further charges. Given the reviews here and elsewhere on the internet it seems this is a scam/fraudulent company. I hope they get shut down soon.Review fromCody P

1 starPredatory in their subscription process, they advertise that you can take courses from your phone but don't allow you to take courses from your phone after the first assignment and don't allow for a subscription to be cancelled via the phone either.Review fromBenjamin R

1 starI signed up for a certification program through Coursera. The official course did not have any of the necessary lectures or study materials and instead there were a series of poorly designed tests that were graded by an automated system that provided no feedback and marked even correct answers as incorrect. The discussion forums for this class were nothing but people who signed up asking for the instructors to fix the course but weeks went by and nothing happened. Some of us reported to Coursera that the course was incomplete and broken but we never got a sensible response and our cases were closed without any ************* take away is that Coursera doesn't have any quality assurance for its courses and no concern about its customers.Review fromCurtis R

1 starThe courses distributed by Coursera are top-notch. I've been working through a Data ************ curriculum by ****I signed up in June, initially for a monthly program at $59 per month. About a week later, Coursera sent me an e-mail offering a full-year subscription for $399. I paid for it with a credit card.Oddly, two weeks later, they refunded around $338, and credited my account for a monthly payment on the subscription.I reached out to Coursera, and I asked them to refund me the extra $27.77/month Coursera charged me ($83.31 total), and I would sign up for the annual subscription again.I have had multiple e-mails with representatives throwing up many objections and demands for a wide array of documentation (like MY bank statement). After seven e-mails, I'm forwarding my concern to the *** and the ************************* for Consumer Affairs.I'm pleased with the courses, but scumbags seem to own the business practices.Review fromPaulina V

1 starIn 2024, I signed up to take a certificate program on Coursera. About 3-4 weeks into the course, I realized that this course was not what I needed or was looking for, so I tried to cancel. The billing was set to monthly, where they would charge me around $50/month to complete the certificate program. I was fine with that, but wanted to back out of the course altogether, and stop the payments ASAP since I wasn't interested in moving forward with it. When I tried to cancel my subscription for this course, there was NO WHERE on the site to cancel anything. I tried to look for my cc information on the site to see if I could just remove my cc info. or cancel from that page, and I could not access my credit card information. I tried to use the chat service to see if the could help me cancel, but they only have a "robot" chat that gives you links to answer your questions. When I reviewed the links, they provided me with instructions on how to cancel my subscription, but when I followed those instructions, the buttons to cancel were simply not on those designated pages. I had no choice but to cancel/close my entire Coursera account. ********************** has become a SCAMMY service. Very sad. They used to be reputable. BUYER BEWARE.
