The Beard Club is a cancel at any time subscription service.On March 7th, this customer signed up for a monthly renewing subscription for selected beard growth and grooming products. On March 7th he was sent confirmation of his enrollment in this subscription as well as an invitation to register for our online portal for easy subscription management.On April 4th, this customer was sent emails reminding him of the upcoming scheduled renewal order. He declined to make any changes to his account before each of these orders processed. On April 7th after the renewal order processed as scheduled, the customer contacted customer support via email. He received a response from our support team within a matter of hours and the order was canceled and refunded at his request and the subscription was canceled.Initial Complaint

They said I signed up for a subscription. I made a one time purchase. I was sent 2 shipments 8 days apart for a price of $93 each. Conveniently there is no form of Phone support. Takes 48hrs from an automated system to try and offer you a half assed discount to make it better. The WORST SYSTEM for cancellation Ive ever dealt with in my life. All I want is a *** to send the items back. And so far its a **** hassle to acquire said item. This company is so misleading its unreal and to be in business with absolutely no phone supported customer service to cancel and deal with actual complaints in a timely manner is way out there. Ordered the ultimate kit 12/07/2024 for my Husbands birthday on 12/17, it said it was going to arrive the 16th, its now the 30th. I believe the whole site is a scam they dont actually have support the button doesnt work. The email they send says contact the post office its not our responsibility and the post office is saying the exact same thing, so whos responsibility is it because I paid to have a product delivered to my home then Im left in the dark and its not their problem because they got paid.Initial Complaint

The Beard Club engages in predatory subscription practices including making cancellation of each individual item of a package hide behind many different links of cancellation. This makes it extremely easy couple steps of subscribing to a package only to have to individually cancel each item in the package 4 times a piece.Business Response

Our subscriptions are highly customizable and subscribers are able to add, remove, and set the desired shipment scheduled for each individual item in their subscription. We want our customers to be able to receive the products they want exactly when they need them. As such, subscriptions for each item must be canceled separately; however, the whole subscription cancellation process takes less than one minute.Initial Complaint

I made a ONE TIME order on October 13, 2024. I have a receipt for the order, it does not reflect any enrollment in a monthly plan. In fact, along with the order, I received a separate email indicating that I can get a discount if I subscribe for a refill. I ignored it, I did not want any refills. I was not notified that I was enrolled in a monthly plan at the time I made the purchase. I opted out of creating an account, when I signed up. I looked carefully to ensure that I was not being signed up for anything, when I paid with ***** Pay on their website. I did not see any authorizations for auto-enrollment or authorization to keep my card information and to charge it every month.On November 13, 2024, I was unlawfully charged over $90, without my permission. I did not authorize it and I did not authorize beard club to store my credit card information. I made a one-time purchase last month. I expressly opted out of creating an account on their website and do not have one. Upon learning about the unauthorized charge, I immediately requested cancellation via their support email. There is no phone support or an option for me to cancel, they claim there is a 48-hour response time via email. I am concerned they will quickly ship the product and make me jump through a bunch of hoops. I likely wont even live at my current address, at the time the package arrives (I am in the process of moving).This appears to be fraudulent and I am very upset that I even have to deal with this - I usually dont go out of my way to submit complaints like this, but I just cant let it go. I anticipate, based on other similar complaints I see on this website, they will claim that I enrolled or authorized monthly charges at the time of my purchase. I believe that to be false, I did not authorize anything of that nature, I have a receipt confirming only the purchase - no receipt for any enrollment in a monthly plan at the time of original purchase.Business Response

The Beard Club is a monthly cancel at any time subscription company. This customer placed on order on our website on October 13th for selected beard growth and grooming products. At the time of this order, he signed up for a subscription for the consumable items in this order.Immediately after placing the order, the customer received an email confirming his enrollment in this subscription. He was also sent an email inviting him to create an account in order to manage his subscription through our online portal.Opting out of creating a log-in to the customer portal does not ****** the subscription that the customer enrolled in at the time of purchase.
On November 10th, the customer was sent an email reminding him of his scheduled upcoming renewal order. He declined to make any changes to his subscription prior to the scheduled renewal date. On November 13th, after the renewal order processed, the customer contacted customer support via email and requested for the order to be canceled. The customer received a response from customer support in less than an hour letting him know his order had been canceled and refunded and his subscription had been canceled.Initial Complaint

Beard club doesnt allow me to cancel my subscription, once I get in the cancel page it just never loads , forcing me to get another package from them every month, this place is a scam, stay away, places that dont allow you to do a simple task like cancel anytime, I even cancelled my credit card and somehow they still managed to charge it !!!!Business Response

This customer signed up for a monthly ********************** box subscription on December 21st, 2023. Customers are able to manage their subscriptions through their online portal. On March 31st, the customer logged into his account and elected to remove the derma roller replacement head from his subscription. He left the subscription active for the other 5 items in his box.
The customer was sent an email on April 18th prior to the scheduled April renewal order to remind him of the upcoming charge. This email detailed all of the items he was scheduled to receive in his box. He made no additional changes to his account prior to that order.
On May 25th, the customer again logged into his account and applied a promo code to his upcoming June order, redeemed a special offer for a body trimmer at a drastically reduced price, and skipped the renewal for 4 out of the 5 items on his subscription. He was again sent an email on June 18th confirming the contents of his upcoming renewal order and the amount of the charge.
On June 21st, the customer's June renewal order charged and processed as scheduled. He contacted customer support via email that day stating he would like to receive the order that was just placed, but he would like to cancel his subscription going forward. Our customer support team processed the subscription cancellation as requested and the customer has received no additional charges.Initial Complaint

I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent order I received from your company. Upon delivery, I noticed that the package containing the beard growth kit appeared to have been previously opened and the contents used.This is quite distressing, as it not only raises hygiene concerns but also suggests a lapse in the quality control process. The photos provided by the customer clearly show the package was damaged in transit, causing one of the products to leak. The customer contacted our customer service department on June 27th reporting this damage and a replacement package was sent out the same day. I made a one-time purchase from Beard Club for my boyfriends birthday about a month ago. They just tried to charger my card $93.96, no where was I told that I would be paying a month subscription. And then they dont even have a number for customer service just an email. The site is set up like a scam when you try to figure out how to cancel it doesnt even let you go back. Why would anyone need to keep ordering some of these things?? Especially the derma roller. I am livid. I looked at reviews before I posted and didnt see anything bad but I wish I looked on here because I see others having the same issue. I hope they get shut down, this is not professional at all. I made a purchase for beard care products in December through the website (order number TBC *******). At no point during the transaction was there any language or indication of an enrollment in a monthly subscription. I also did not agree to my payment method being stored for future use. Further, my order confirmation email had no subscription language in it only a simple outline of the items ordered as a one time purchase. One month later, a second charge appeared on my credit card statement, and I received an email stating that The Beard Club had processed an additional subscription order of products I had purchased the month prior. I did not place this order, nor did I consent to this transaction. I ordered the company to cancel the shipment and refund the fraudulent charges of $92.22 on January 11 and February 12. It is clear that the company blatantly operates with deceitful practices and is knowingly not forthright with customers.Business Response

On December 11th, the customer placed an order and signed up for a monthly recurring subscription. He completed our standard sign up agreement and a separate agreement authorizing a monthly recurring charge through PayPal.Right after the order was placed, the customer received an email confirming his enrollment in the subscription. On January 8th and February 8th,he was sent emails reminding him of the scheduled renewal orders. We confirmed that he received these reminder emails and he confirmed with our customer support team that he had. The customer declined to make any changes before either order was placed.
On January 11th, the customers first renewal order processed as scheduled. He received an order confirmation for this renewal order as well as a shipping confirmation email. The customer did not contact us to request for this order to be canceled. This order was delivered to the customer on January 22nd. No action was taken by the customer to return this order or cancel his subscription after he received the order.
On February 11th, the customer second renewal order charged and processed as scheduled. He was again sent an order confirmation email and a shipping confirmation email. The order was successfully delivered to him on February 17th. On February 19th, after receiving 7 subscription related emails and 2 shipments, he contacted our customer support team to cancel his subscription. His subscription was canceled and he was given return instructions for his February order. We were not able to authorize a return on the January order as it was no longer eligible for refund under our return policy. This policy is stated on our website and was available for the customer to view at the time of his initial purchase and after the January order was received.
We will be happy to issue a refund on the customers February order, provided it is returned in accordance with the return instructions he was provided.Initial Complaint

I made an online one-time purchase for a holiday gift for my son. I did not subscribe for a membership. They charged my card over $90.00 this month for a product I NEVER requested. I never set up a subscription account so I cannot log in. There have no customer support number only email.
