    At the outset, it is important to note that Grain is not a Debt Collector but rather the first-party servicer for creditor partners. By definition, creditors and first-party servicers are excluded from the debt validation requirements because they are not debt collectors under The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (*****).

    To open an account through **********************, a user must first acknowledge and agree with the Grain Terms of Service, Partner Credit Agreement, and Account Opening Disclosure, which specifically go over our credit reporting policies. After that, the user can refer to their Account Opening Disclosures and Credit Agreement at any time on the Grain Application or refer to the copies sent to the email address the account holder used to sign-up to Grain. 

    During the life of the customers credit account, that account is serviced by Grain, including the provision of monthly statements and, through Grains technology, the payment of monthly minimum fees to the associated creditor partner. If the user misses a payment, they will receive notices via the Grain application and/or the email used at sign up. In doing so, Grain is not a Debt Collector as defined under the ***** but rather a first-party servicer. 


    If a customer seeks to report that an account was opened without their consent via identity theft or otherwise, a case is opened with Grains compliance department, and an investigation is conducted.

Failing that, the items must be deleted from the report as soon as possible.In addition please provide the contract signed between GRAIN TECHNO, notarized and sworn under penalty and perjury for GRAIN TECHNO ability to collect this alleged debt.The non-creditor advised that they have sent me records via mail in the past explaining this debt however I never received these alleged documents. Were these documents mailed certified mail? I dont believe this non creditor and feel that they are not being honest . Please send all validating records through the BBB and certified mail to my address. I have uploaded a copy of my ID showing my mailing address.

    Our compliance team completed an investigation into this account and found no evidence of fraud. All the information provided during the application process, such as phone and email, were verified. The customer was also required to take an image in real-time and upload a picture of their identification for us to verify.

    Grain is probably one of the most unscrupulous companies Ive ever inquired with. I advised info compromised with ******** breach They shut down account and prevented me from using this decreased credit line twice charge fees monthly for over two years I never authorized or knew about I have been contacted their office everyday for 60+ days advising for them to credit all fees zero account and close I could not even make a payment they said system issues preventing change or add of bank I read tons of negative reviews advising ************** destroyed from them if they do not zero this account out and close I will be seeking legal action Zero out close account and delete personal info from your database

    This company placed a collections on my account. I have been trying to contact them for almost 8 months now to try to get it removed. they will not answer the phone or emails.

    Because of a app error that was not the users fault but Grains fault specificalty where we could not update/edit bank account information. let alone go into the app for months my credit report has been destroyed by Grain. after weeks of resolution with customer service after my credit report reported it was in a "Charge off" status i was able to contact customer service where they told me if i paid and closed my account it would be removed from my credit report! No now it is marked as paid in full after it was originally a charge off then open then charge off now paid closed. Remove this from my credit report as you have seriously ruined the finical situation of so many of your users it is the nice and correct thing to do here.

    We take claims of inaccurate credit reporting very seriously. Upon looking into this account no payments were made from May 2023 to July 2023 and as a result, the account was accurately reported as late. 

    Please note, that while the user can make payments otherwise (via check or request of e-payment) a linked bank account facilitates payment via ACH. Users receive a monthly statement to their email address on file with their minimum payment due and specific instructions on how to pay by check.

    My account was reported as a charge off for 4 months, and paid to be closed and removed from my credit report. But all your company did was remove the charge off status and replace it paid closed. That was not the agreement that was made between your customer service team. Your are provide false information and this needs to be removed due to you charging off my account, i paid and closed it for removal.

    On October 20, ************************************************************************************************** the process of purchasing a home as a goodwill deletion, due to the payment history and status we could not honor that request. In looking at all the previous communication, the customer was never promised that if the account was paid in full we would be remove the account from the credit report, we advised we would update the account to reflect closed - paid in full but that does not remove the previous charged off status.

    I am writing to formally file a complaint against Grain Technology. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve the issue with the company over several months, I have been confronted with non-responsive customer service and, consequently, damaging impacts on my credit.I requested the closure of my account and asked for the return of my security deposit several months ago. Although I was refunded the deposit, I was subsequently locked out of my account, leaving me unable to view or access the unknown balance of $4.This balance was typically paid through autopay; however, due to being locked out of my account, I became "late" for a payment I wasnt aware of after I thought my account was closed, which negatively affected my credit score. It feels unfair and deceptive that I lost access to my account, couldn't oversee my balance, and then suffered a negative impact on my credit score.I reached out to Grain Technology to dispute the $4 charge and asked for a resolution but their team has been regretfully slow to react. I've been waiting for more than two months now for an address or contact information to escalate my complaint directly with the company.I am frustrated and feel deceived by Grain Technology's concerning business practices. I believe their action led to unnecessary damage to my credit score and financial standing.I look to the BBB with the hope to get this matter properly addressed and resolved by Grain Technology.Thank you for your attention to this matter.*********,*******************************

    I am rejecting this response because: I did not have access to my account after the security deposit was returned to me after I requested several times to have my account closed.  Your company made it extremely difficult after requesting account closure to even view or access the account requiring that I repay the security deposit again to even login. When I reached out to **************** again after realizing that my request to close my account was actually not completed, I personally had to request a link to pay $4. This is absolutely ridiculous that this company would ruin my credit after I asked several times to close my account and I believe it's practices were predatory.

    THIS COMPANY HAS PUT 30 DAY LATE MARKS ON MY CREDIT REPORT AND WOULD NOT POST MY PAYMENTS THAT WAS SENT FOR WEEKS. ALSO HAVE SEVERAL EMAILS WHERE I REQUESTED INFORMATION ON HOW TO MAKE MY PAYMENTS WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THEM. I ALSO HAD TO EMAIL THEM ABOUT MY PAYMENT AND WHY THEY HAD NOT POSTED MY PAYMENTS.     It sad that I have to reach to this point of filing a complaint. I have sent over 10 email and yet to get response from live person. The app provided is not allowing me to make a payment, I've reached out to find other alternatives ways to pay but have not been able to contact anybody at grain. The numbers for grain is just an auto system no live rep. I mailed payments and non have posted. This is extremely frustrating because now my credit is in jeopardy because grain doesn't want to communicate. Only email I got was from.auto system saying account past due. I NEED TO SPEAK TO LIVE REP TO GET HELP TO MAKE A PAYMENT. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
