I just got a call from this company. They misrepresented themselves as a legal office. The "secretary" would not give me information and said they were legally obtaining my son's information although my son has no contract with them. Never gave them permission to obtain his personal information

We have reviewed the complaint sent in by the consumer. Unfortunately we must deny the allegations being made about our company. We are well versed in the ***** and other state and local collection regulations. We absolutely obey and adhere to all collection laws governed by the ********************************************************** and the Attorney General. Our records indicate that we spoke with the consumer in attempt to reach the owner of the account in our office. The consumer then advised the representative that they do not know anyone by the name we provided. We do not give any information to any third parties. We do not require the consumer's authority for anything regarding the actual owner of the account. We advise that since the consumer stated they do not know who we were looking to get in contact with, they disregard our previous message. We will also be removing the consumer's number from the account. If the consumer has further questions, they may contact our office directly.

Your secretary stated you were a legal office even said she would have your legal officer speak to my son. As I mentioned... The call was for my son, I never said I didn't know who the call was for. I clearly said it was for my son. She said it was a litigation office in ********** that is consita legal office. Which refers to resolving disputes in courts, a litigation company is a legal practice.... Therefore your secretary misrepresented herself stating she was something she wasn't. Because in your website it makes it clear you're a collection agency NOT a legal office. I will check my cameras to verify it picked up this particular conversation

We have reviewed the second complaint sent in by the consumer. We are well versed in the ***** and other state and local collection regulations. We absolutely obey and adhere to all collection laws governed by the ********************************************************** and the Attorney General. As previously stated, we cannot further discuss this matter with third parties. If the consumer wishes to gather more information regarding this matter, we will need authorization from the actual owner of the account. We have already removed the number provided from the account so they should not be receiving any communication from our company. If the consumer would like to speak with us, they can contact our office directly at ************.

I received a sketchy voicemail from this company today. The caller claimed to be ****** from the legal department of Stafford Group and Associates regarding a "complaint" filed against me in their office. I do not recognize Stafford Group and certainly do not have an account with them. Upon checking my credit report, it appears that they are attempting to collect an invalid debt for a company (Tempoe) that can no longer be collected upon to begin with. ****** canceled all leases with its customers due to Tempoe being found guilty of violating the ****************** Protection Act of 2010, and I received a settlement check from them due to this legal decision. Information here:"*********** is permanently banned from offering consumer leases and is winding down its operations. The company was found to have violated the ****************** Protection Act of 2010. What happened to ******'s leases? ****** canceled all existing leases Consumers can keep the leased merchandise without further financial obligation Tempoe will not provide negative information about lessees to consumer reporting agencies What happened to Tempoe's victims? The ************************************ (****) allocated over $192 million from the victims relief fund to compensate eligible victims The **** reached a legal agreement with Tempoe How did Tempoe mislead consumers? Tempoe used misleading and deceptive marketing practices to trick consumers into leasing appliances, furniture, and other household goods Tempoe charged consumers far more than the purchase price Tempoe often led consumers to believe that they were signing up for an installment plan or credit sale"

We absolutely obey and adhere to all collection laws governed by the ********************************************************** and the Attorney General. The **** sent out an announcement about the Tempoe settlement back from over a year ago. The announcement has nothing to do with sold accounts that were outside of the **** findings. This **** press release and fund disbursement has no impact on the enforceability or collectability of any sold Tempoe accounts. This account is still valid. If the consumer would like to further discuss this matter, they may contact our office directly.
