One the the many victims of this fraudulent company. They email you out of nowhere after completing several transactions saying Your information is needed asking for a bunch of documents and information. Once youve submitted everything, they close your account and send an email stating you can not access your money for 120 days and after that you can possibly get it back. This is plain theft in my opinion. It doesnt even give you an option to refund the customer back their money so they can pay in a different form. NEVER TRUST WEPAY AS MENTIONED BY SEVERAL OTHERS.Review from Sam L

THEY ARE A REAL SCANDAL!!Wow. i wish i would have read this before i used we pay but i never even knew that ***** used a third party for the credit card payments! Weve accepted credit card payments before but all of a sudden when we accepted a 10k payment it didnt come in. We thought the customer didnt pay or something but he insisted that he already paid his credit card! We called chase who transferred to we pay who said yeah we have your money but we emailed you to verify and you didnt respond so we closed your account and well hold it for 120 days.. what?! we checked every email and they never even emailed us!! But what?! This is a real scandal! As soon as they get a large sum they steal it guys! Now we got the same email garbage as the rest of the reviewers and theyre asking for an insane list of paperwork (verification) that im not even comfortable giving them as I dont trust this company. We will definitely *** them. Im horrified with chase too for partnering with them, roping us into this and not standing behind their actions. ***** begged us to sign up to take credit card payments. We will be looking for a new bank and will, G-d willing, settle this!Review from Frank E

WE PAY IS A SCAM. THEY WILL HOLD YOUR MONEY FOR NO REASON AND NEVER RELEASE IT! FIRST I WAS TOLD 120 DAYS. MY LAST MESSAGE STATED THEY CAN HOLD FOR UP TO 3 YEARS. DO NOT USE! ***************** SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE. WE SHOULD START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. LET'S COME TOGETHER. THIS BUSINESS SHOULD BE FORCE TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES IT HAS CAUSED AND BE FORCED TO CLOSE.Review from Dan H

Our company had a payment from a contracted client of 10k on 6/6/24 for the down-payment of our job. We pay which hides behind chases pos system held the payment for 2 business days plus the weekend then Monday morning get an email saying they have closed the account due to "high risk of charge backs or disputes" with the appeal process asking for information on our client/job and 3 months of bank statements and we can't talk to anyone as they only work through email which they won't respond to engineers 3 business days have passed. We are contracted to start a job with money that they are holding hostage from the client and from us. With a short window of work time and this will probably ruin our company as employees won't get paid due to their beyond shady practices. To anyone reading DO NOT USE WE-PAY.Review from Hector P

I had recently closed a contract with a client and with my Chase banking business account. They had a new form of accepting credit card payments (we pay). From the moment of accepting a deposit from the client to current date (6-5-24) it has been a disaster!!!!! Not only Were the funds being held by we pay, but they were asking for documentation between the client and contractor (me), aswell they dont have a customer service team to call. Everything is through email so response time was not the best. Anyways the funds were processed on 5/7/24 and almost a month later the funds were still on hold by them. The company stated that they need proper documentations to release the funds or it can be held for 120 days (4 momths) after the payment was processed. As of today 6-5-24 since when does a credit card processing company need proof/ documentation of any form as it is through a business account. I was finally able to get a refund to the client and we are seeking a different form of payment. This inconvenience almost cost me the contract With the client whether it was a small amount or large sum this is still unacceptable!!!! Now we are behind on schedule for this client and will need to make up the time so much for quick and simple.Aswell the company we pay as send deactivated/ closed my account so I am no longer able to accept credit card payments as the stated that my account was to high of a risk for charge backs while I have never had a client that has disputed a charge or filed a claim. Honestly I am glad to not be working with them anymore and would highly suggested that you look elsewhere when looking for a payment processing company DO NOT USE WEPAY !!!!!!!!!!!!Review from Michael S

WePay has destroyed my business and Life. They held $20k payment for 120 days.. I am a small business and rely on the payment from jobs, especially 20k. As a result, my account is over drawn by $2,000 and after filing a compliant with the ***** ********** Closed my Business account. My credit is ruined. NY reputation is ruined. My business is ruined. My life and Family is ruined. I am losing my house now.... I hope the WePay Employees that take 3 days to respond and deny appeals and hear REAL People and small business owners crying to them over the phone some day realize that what you are doing and have done is worse than anything and a Sin... You get paid to destroy Business Families... WePay has cost me everything... even my Family!Review from John S

Horrible company. Every time I get paid from a credit card lately they hold onto it for days telling me that it needs "extra security screening". It's now to the point where I have stopped taking card payments and am still waiting on them to release almost $6400 to me for 5 days now. Never use this company and they need to be shut down. It's companies like this that kill small businesses.Review from Maria S

Wepay by ************************* ( parent company ) its a complete fraud and scam . I use FreshBooks for my accounting and Wepay is offered through it to receive credit card payments and ACH transactions . Wepay for no reason shut down my payment account and kept the money in my account that they were supposed to transfer to my bank 1-3 business days . They then asked for me to send 3 months of bank statements and proof of invoices for these transactions as a standard procedure . I sent them all documents required and they Wrote back stating its closed and they will see if they will send back the money to the Payee in 120 days !!!! Which means I cant get paid and the payee is in limbo getting their funds back as well !! This is beyond unacceptable! This company is not even legit with a customer service phone number , only communicates through email and does not even respond back ! I filed a claim with the dispute department and trying to get my funds as a small business owner , its hard not to being able recover your funds for more then 4 months if I ever get them back ! DO NOT work with Wepay or FreshBooks . I contacted chase directly and they are to no help. All they said was there is no phone number , just email them !!! I will continue to fight this .Review from Adrian C

This company held onto my money for days and now they're saying it'll take up to 10 days. When I called to inquire, the customer support agent, ****, was rude and refused to let me speak with a manager. When I put my foot down about speaking to a manager, the agent hung up. I have seen a lot of reviews stating the contact number is hard to find, if that is the case, here is the direct phone number for customer service, although I can't say they will resolve anything. Eight Eight Eight, Six Five Nine, Four Nine Six One, ask for ****.Review from Julian R

We have been using WePay for roughly two years. They suddenly disconnected our payment system and bank routing. They are holding roughly $10,000 of our company revenue and are not paying it out as agreed. Multiple times we have complied with their demands to fill out IRS forms and Personal details, Company details and Banking information, but they simply keep asking for the same information in a loop. There does not seem to be any way to get direct support from the company, and this point we are considering the possibility of theft and fraud on the part of WePay if they do not resolve it quickly.CONCLUSION: WePay has accepted money from our clients in the form of invoice payments, but has not deposited the money to our bank accounts as agreed. This is a time-consuming and costly matter for any small business to navigate. We highly recommend that NO ONE enter into a business relationship with WePay.
