This is the second time we have contacted BBB concerning this same problem. The first time they did contact us with promises to fix the issues but nothing is being done. This claim involves a solar energy system that began in October of 2021. The loan was approved with Goodleap financial acct # ********** with 3000.00 down payment and monthly payments of 219.33. We are paying for a faulty none working product. We were suppose to receive a working Solar Panel power system. We have yet to be provided with a working system and now are not only paying payments on a product that is not working but also very high electric bills due to the fact that we changed electric companies with a buy back product. We have called and emailed company many times and with no result. They keep making promises to look into it but have not attempted to resolve the issue.Business response

We entered into a contract to have solar panels installed in February. It is now about to be July and the company has not finished installation. I have 2 cracked panels on my roof, and they installed the panels and batteries but never completed the hook up. They left a mess all over our property. The estimated completion date was April. I still do not have solar and it is almost July. I have been told multiple times that they had to find a new crew, but they have yet to get anything completed. I would like the job to be finished and I want to make sure the two cracked panels are replaced.Business response

We entered into a contract to have solar installed on 2/5/2022 Installers came to our property and installed the equipment. Two of the solar panels are cracked and shattered but they still installed them. It has now been over 4 months and the installation has not been completed. We have equipment installed on our home and it has not been hooked up and is not usable. The contractor has not gotten back with us when asked for completion.Business response

We have since spoken to this customer and are on the same page. We have a crew scheduled to be at their property next Wednesday (7-6-22) to address their concerns and complete the installation to the home owners satisfaction.Initial Complaint

We hired Sun Energy to construct our solar project at our home in Riverside April 2021. Just so happened, we were looking for a company that could complete an ADU/garage conversion project at our house. They told us that we could finance our solar project and use whatever remaining balance towards our ADU project. That should have been a red flag for us but trusted them and moved forward anyway. We were approved for $100,000 for the solar through Mosaic financing and our solar ended up costing $55,000. Our solar was finished by August/September 2021 with a few hiccups. The project manager dropped the ball a few times but Sun Energy did redeem themselves by reimbursing us for our Edison bill a few months due to their negligence. They claimed they were in in between project managers and dropped the ball. Fast forward, it is now May 2022 and we have not broke ground on the ADU/garage conversion project. The furthest we got was architectural plans almost finished. Our project manager Steve is no longer returning calls, emails or texts. The owner Dennis is not returning calls or emails. Our sales rep Fred is now no longer with the company. All we want now Is just to retrieve our money back that should be reimbursed to us or if Sun Energy can return the balance of the solar back to Mosaic.Business response

As of today (2-17-22) we have spoken to the client and are settling the project by refunding the remaining balance of unfinished work. We have issued the first payment already and have discussed putting together all cost incurred to determine the final amount to be paid out. The client has agreed with this course of action and is allowing us the remainder of the work week to determine that final amount and issue a final check for refund.
