SunPower has been sold and there has been no way to contact them for a roof leak that should be under warranty. I have been trying to reach them for 9 months including reaching out to the other vendors listed on their website. All emails have been returned as undeliverable. The leak has now caused interior damage which will also need to be repaired under the warranty terms.Initial Complaint

I purchased a SunPower system in 2015 and entered into a lease with SunPower financial. My decision to purchase a SunPower system was based primarily on their Production Guarantee. The system has failed to meet the "guaranteed" amounts from day one. On average, the system produced about 50% of the guaranteed amount, during the 8 years I was able to monitor it. I have been unable to monitor it since then. I recently requested a UCC release to facilitate a HELOC on my residence. Despite a promise of a release in 25 days, it came after twice that long and only after the HELOC was refused. At the same time, I requested a buy out, and received a quote of all the remaining payments plus tax (over $25000), even thought tax was already in the payment amounts. I have made several requests to have the system repaired and/or brought up to the guaranteed performance, with no response from installers or repair personnel. With SunPower in bankruptcy, I am not confident of getting any help. However the new bill collectors, ****** ********** are relentless in trying to keep getting payments for a system that doesn't work as promised, with issues that no one will address. I am withholding any future payments until I receive some indication that anyones cares about anything except collecting money for a system that doesn't work as guaranteed. I hope other SunPower customers will follow my lead. Perhaps, if enough people stop making payments, SunPower, or anyone, will listen. Just a note. After the system was installed, I had a major leak in the roof which I had to get repaired at my cost. I knew the installers, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The inatallation company, however, also went bankrupt a few years later.Initial Complaint

Sunpower installed panals on our roof. A year after the installation the panels have caused a leak in our roof. They have gone bankrupt and apparently nobody is taking over their warranties. Not sure who we should contact.Initial Complaint

We purchased our home in 2021, We took over a lease of Sunpower Solar Panels, They were not working, We made dozens of requests for repair, the panels were never repaired. Sun power owes us our monthly premium, plus damages for the solar power we could have used to offset our electricity bill had we used another company during this period.Initial Complaint

Dear Sunpower Legal & Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally demand immediate resolution regarding the reimbursement owed to me for non-production in 2023. Despite multiple complaints and direct communication with both your company and the servicing entity that took over, I have yet to receive any response or payment. I have upheld my end of the agreement by continuing to make payments, yet I have received no service in return. This is a clear breach of contract and an unacceptable business practice. Given the ongoing lack of communication and failure to fulfill the agreed-upon reimbursement, I am left with no choice but to escalate this matter legally. If I do not receive the full amount owed to me along with confirmation of service cancellation within 60 Days, I will be forced to take legal action, including but not limited to: - Filing a formal complaint with the ******** ********* ****** *** *** ******** ********** ******. - Pursuing legal remedies to recover funds and damages resulting from your company’s breach. - Reporting this issue to relevant regulatory authorities overseeing solar energy contracts. This is my final attempt to resolve this matter amicably. I expect an immediate response with confirmation of my reimbursement and service termination. The system was installed in Feb. 2022. Ran fine till last year. I contacted the company telling them I needed a roof replacement. They refereed me to 1 of Their installers. That company temporarily removed the panels for the roof replacement. When they replaced it ( Last July ) the system failed to work. When I told that Sunpower / ****** referred company that it wasn't working they told me that squirrels had damaged the wiring and I should report that to SunPower. In September 2015, I entered into a lease with Sunpower for my residential solar system. The contract states that Sunpower will repair and maintain my system at no cost to me during the period of the lease so long as I am a customer in good standing. I have been and am currently a customer in good standing. Currently, Sunpower deducts over $95 monthly from my checking account. Months ago, I received notice that my system has not been producing energy since at least July 2024. I repeatedly tried calling Sunpower but my call was never answered. I tried to chat online at their website but the chat function was inoperable. I have emailed Sunpower at their support address on several occasions over a period of months, the last being sent in December 2024, and have only received an automated reply with a trouble ticket number (*******). Months have passed and I have yet to receive any reply, assistance or effort to repair and conform to the lease. My monthly utility bill has increased substantially due to the solar system not working. Sunpower continues to deduct money from my checking account for a broken system but will not respond to repeated requests for assistance, cannot or refuses to repair the solar system and therefore is in violation of a lawful lease contract.Initial Complaint

I purchased a SunPower solar system with battery in November 2021 for $41,000. It was sold with a 25 year warranty on everything but the battery, and the battery has a 10 year warranty. My battery has stopped working entirely and won't communicate with the rest of the system. The app no longer works so I can't even tell if the system is functioning at all. I've requested help but have received no reply. I want SunPower to repair or replace the battery, and mini's that, I want them to refund me for the system. We are leasing customers of SunPower Solar, and our system has been non-functional since June 2024. Despite numerous chats, emails, and phone calls, we’ve been repeatedly told to “sit tight” due to the company’s bankruptcy filing until a new service provider is secured. Communication is only initiated by us, and we receive the same response each time: payments are due, and we must wait for a contractor service agreement to be arranged. We stopped making payments as of September because we cannot afford to pay for a broken system while also covering our electricity bills.Initial Complaint
