In October 2024, I asked for the corporate number for *** Lewis multiple times to file a formal complaint after we felt unsupported by ******* **** ***** *****. We did not feel like he had or best interests at heart and he was only out for his interests for many reasons, so we explained we wanted to use our own lender instead via email. Once this was expressed, ***** **** became argumentative and demanding towards us, requesting another Preapproval within 5 days and that we need to pay approximately $12,000 more, as we were no longer entitled to the builders' discounts for no longer using their preferred lender. Very unprofessional.Initially we had a good relationship with ***** ************ ***** but now we feel unheard, it's unfortunate. I was requesting to speak to management to explain the reasons why we had lost trust in their preferred lender and try to come to a resolution to continue to move forward and for that reason were requesting all discounts to remain intact, as the reason we were not using their lender was unsettling, discriminatory, and he did not have good communication with us leaving us confused. I was given the run around by ***** **** ************************ Manager) and ***** ***** (Team Lead). As of today, November 5, 2024, I still do not have the corporate contact information and they have become nonresponsive since we canceled the contract. They kept having me wait multiple days to have a meeting with one another, or wait for Mondays to talk with the team, ***** claimed to be out of the office. I feel they used these strategies to have us get less than 30 days from the "closing date". They know the rules with closing dates (they didn't have a closing date and quoted us late November or December, but when I asked to make a complaint and cancel, they magically came up with a closing date. To Whom It May Concern,
We apologize that ******* and her family felt that their homebuying experience with Tim Lewis Communities was a stressful experience. Per the below statement, it seems as though the ******** Family did not feel that our preferred lender at ******* had their best interests in mind, however, that is definitely not the case. The lender did his best to explain the various options available to their family. The type of loan they were hoping to secure unfortunately did not align with their current circumstances. VA loans have many rules and restrictions, and the ******** Family was very confident that they did not want to sell the current home that they own. Our lender tried to give them several other loan options. After securing a conventional loan with *******, they ultimately chose to go with another lender. Our Sales Consultant was directed to find out just what we could do to make ******* happy. She chose not to work towards a resolution and said she was done. We are sorry to hear that they felt unsupported by our lender and have brought up all of ******** concerns to the President of our company.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Hi There, can you please reopen this? I just found this email in my junk folder. I just read the response from the property and they flat out lied. We were not done a VA, we were doing a conventional. Also, they never gave us any information to talk to the corporate office. We never heard anything from the president and lastly, they lied and told us they would give us the corporate offices number and instead have us the number to escrow (who doesn't work with *** Lewis). They were confused why *** Lewis kept giving us the run around. Please help.Business Response

We stand by our original response. We are very sorry that ******* did not agree with our recount of the situation. We wish her and her family the best. Thank you.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: it involves falsified information. It is clear that *** Lewis is using shady business practices with potential buyers and are continuing to defend their preferred lendor, *******, who has used discriminatory practices. For that reason, we continue to feel betrayed, unheard, taken advantage of as consumers. They still have not produced evidence that they forwarded our original complaints about them and the lendor from October 2024, and this is one of the reasons why we canceled our contract as we did not feel supported and have been treated unjust.
We are requesting a full refund of all of our holding deposits, ******* money deposits, etc. Please provide our requested refunds.

*** Lewis is scalping down trees and building houses on top of the roots and also they are not fixing the problem the right way I have reached out about this tree that pushes my fence back causing damage they acknowledge its there problem but the owners are giving the construction manager no feed back so he cant do the work Im seeking legal advice and calling ****** right after this I have emails and documents and pictures and videos of them coming out doing crappy jobs by hand the tree ***** needs to come up its causing damage to my fence and it will damage future home owner residence as well this is a horrible company and need to be penalized for the wrong they are doing to people!Business Response

This complaint is regarding a tree ***** that is located directly on the property line between Lot 19 of our ****** *************** and ************* property located on *************** in unincorporated ************** ************* previously had ************* remove this tree several years ago, but failed to ask them to remove the tree *****. When we asked Mr. ******** why they never followed-up with the County to remove the tree *****, we did not receive a response. It is absurd that ****** ******** is claiming that, "TLC scalps down trees and builds houses on top of them," when in fact it was The ********** that had the tree removed.
Since the prior removal of this tree (by The Hargroves & Placer County), a root ball grew between the two fences directly on the property line [See attached pictures]. In order to alleviate ****** ********* request, our Construction Team opened up the fence and removed the root ball and all growth. The remaining ***** is now completely flush with the ground. After removing the growth, we reassembled Hargroves fence.
The only work that may need to be done in the future, is that if any baby saplings grow by the *****, they would simply need to be snipped with some pruning shears. We also suggested using some foaming root killer from the hardware store, that prevents future growth of tree roots, however The Hargroves were not interested in this option. Due to the fact that this work was previously done by the Hargroves and *************, we feel that we have gone above and beyond to address the issue. Again, this is a property line tree *****, and is not the sole responsibility of Tim Lewis Communities. Please see attached three pictures supporting the work that we have done to assist The ******** Family.Initial Complaint

My husband and I had put a deposit on a home began the loan process, within two week we unfortunately suffered hardship and were not going to be able to move forward with the purchase of the home. In addition to this, the documents requested by the underwriter we were not going to be able to provide, which would result in the loan not be granted. We then requested to cancel the transaction and it was assumed due to the loan issue we would be able to have our refund. We have yet to have the refund accepted, or refund issued this cancellation was requested on 8/22/22.
