I opened a loan with Good Leap for an HVAC system for work that was competed on 3/1/2024. The loan was interest free if paid in full in one year. The loan start date was 3/15/2024 with a promotional period end date of 3/15/2025. I paid the loan off in full on 2/7/2025 and received a statement on 2/24/2025 that the account had a zero balance. On 3/27/2025 I received an email from Good Leap that I had a payment due on April 15, 2025 for $26.92 and I had a balance on my account of *********** contacted customer service on 3/27/2025 and was told this was an error and it would be fixed. They had to transfer to their back office team to resolve. The back office team is still waiting for management approval and for the accounting team to credit my account. Nothing had been resolved and the payment due date of 4/15/2025 is quickly approaching. Im concerned about a negative credit reporting for an error of Good Leap. There seems to be no urgency from them to gets this fixed.Business Response

This loan provider was used by *********** a company that went out of business. Titan Solar was supposed to fix at no cost to me my inverter/solar panels etc. Now that they are out of business I have had to fix my inverter already out of pocket. I have tried to work with Goodleap to try and lower the $56,974.22 principal balance some percentage that way I can use that money to pay for repairs myself. I am a disabled veteran and I do not have extra money to spend on repairs. I do not think I am asking for much since no one is there to repair my system nor my roof in case of leaks anymore. I just want some help lowering that principal balance since I have to pay out of pocket for everything now with the exception of parts (in some cases). Can you guys help? Thank youBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because: Hi, the inverter died on me prior to having this problem with the cellular card. I had to pay $950 to get that fixed. Doesnt that qualify as it not working? also, I was told about a 25 year free fix and replace in case of any issues. doesnt that in turn bridge contract? It didnt even take a year for the inverter to fail.
As for the cellular card i had to call another installer and at the price of $75 he took off the cellular card so i could use the wifi. How can you guys help correct this? Remember im a disabled veteran and i cannot work.

The company doing business as Goodleap, created a financial contract/loan without our approval and not even showing us the terms of the contract. ***** ****** is the owner of ***** energy contractors who came to our home on about 6-28-2024 to sell us a new air conditioning unit. He told us that he would submit our names (*** and **** *******) and some of our personal financial information to a loan company to seek approval for a zero percent loan if we wanted to buy the air conditioning unit. We wanted to wait and talk about it, decide if we wanted to buy it or not. ***** said we shouldnt wait because there were only a certain number of people in our area of living that would be approved for the zero percent interest loan. A few months later, we received a letter in the mail from the Goodleap company informing us of a loan we were approved for with a nearly 13% interest rate. This letter outlined all of the terms of this loan. What the monthly payment would be, the length of the loan, etc., etc. We were never shown this loan that the GOODLEAP company created for us and we never signed any loan documents or approved any loan. Isnt this fraud?Business Response

Goodleap, based in *********, ** provided the financing for the solar panel system for my house. The solar system was installed in July, 2024. I was told by the salesperson that once I had the solar rebate from the state and feds, I could throw that money towards the solar loan and my monthly payments would be decreased accordingly. I now have those rebates and called Goodleap last week. They said that they would take the money (about $25K) but would not reduce my monthly payment until December 2025! This seemed strange and bizarre. I asked to talk to her supervisor and she said no. She said that the contract says that I have to pay the $281 a month until December 2025 and then they could lower my payments. I would like to give them the money now and have my payments reduced ASAP (days or weeks, not 9 months).Business Response
Date: 04/18/2025
GoodLeap is in receipt of the complaint filed on April 4, 2025, with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), concerning your solar loan with GoodLeap. In Summary, you expressed dissatisfaction with the re-amortization timeline of your loan agreement and are requesting a manual re-amortization.
Our records show GoodLeaps loan agreement was signed by you on June 21, 2024. The terms of the loan are clearly reflected in the agreement. Page one (1) clearly outlines that the initial monthly payment will be $281.56 for the first eighteen (18) months. Additional information is also available in the Welcome Package; Welcome Letter, Closing Certificate, and Truth in Lending Disclosure, originally sent on June 21, 2024. See attachments.
As reflected in the Truth in Lending Disclosure, it is explained, the Payment Schedule shown assumes you will not make any voluntary prepayments on the loan by the eighteenth (18th)month. However, the loan was designed to re-amortize at the end of the 18th month after the Loan Start Date. As a result, if the borrower makes all scheduled payments on time and makes sufficient voluntary prepayment(s) to reduce the total loan amount to the Target Balance by the Target Balance Date described in the agreement, the payments from month nineteen (19) through the end of the loan will be approximately the same as the initial monthly payment.
The fixed payment structure during the first 18 months is intentionally designed to provide borrowers with sufficient time to pay down the loan and/or receive their tax credit if eligible. Upon re-amortization in month 19, the monthly payment is adjusted to ensure the loan is fully repaid within the original term, without requiring additional voluntary prepayments. Please reference the Loan Closing Certificate for your Target Balance and Target Balance Date.
After the nineteenth (19th) month, borrowers with an outstanding balance exceeding $5,000.00 may request a manual re-amortization once per year, which may be used either to pay down the principal or to reduce the monthly payment amount.Should you have further questions or concerns, please contact our ****************** at ************** or via email at *******************************************Initial Complaint

[1] Under a contract dated August 15, 2023, a Credit Amount of $23,349.60 was subject to the following term: If you voluntarily pay the full Credit Amount before the end of the Promotional Period, all accrued interest will be waived (Key Terms and Credit Terms,Section 2.a, Interest and Payments). The Promotional Period ended on February 21, 2025, with a First Payment Date of March 21, 2025.[2] The full "Credit Amount" was paid by February 4, 2025 -- 17 days before the end of the promotional period. A text message from GoodLeap confirms this, as does a screen capture of the GoodLeap app.[3] On February 12, 2025, the GoodLeap app also reflected a principal balance of $0.00.[4] On March 4, 2025, I received an email asserting that payment was due. Upon checking the GoodLeap app, I discovered that over $2,000 in interest had been added to the account. This prompted a call to GoodLeap on the same day. In that call, the representative indicated a $54 UCC fee was charged, improperly capitalized, and appears to have triggered (1) an erroneous belief that the Credit Amount remained unpaid (which was wrong) and (2) the subsequent listing of over $2,000 in interest as allegedly due by GoodLeap. In that same call, the representative indicated a case had been opened and that I would receive a follow-up call from GoodLeap. [5] While the $54 fee was disputed, I made payment of the fee on March 4, 2025 - minutes after the call with the GoodLeap representative. [6] Having received no further follow-up from GoodLeap, I sent a certified letter on March 22, 2025. [7] GoodLeap has still not responded as of this complaint filing. [8] Nothing in the contract suggests that a *** termination fee becomes part of the "Credit Amount." Indeed, it's not credit. Further, the condition precedent for charging such a fee is the Agreement being paid in full (which it was). Something cannot simultaneously be paid in full and also not paid.Business Response

GoodLeap is in receipt of the complaint filed on April 2, 2025, with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), concerning your Home Improvement loan with GoodLeap. On September 9th, 2024, we entered a Retail Installment Contract with Goodleap, LLC with the purpose of financing the **** system installation for our new home. Sadly, the contractor, *********** A/*****************, turned out to be a huge scam and never completed the job. The contractor did not even provide the equipment we paid for. This matter was brought to Goodleap, LLC attention and after weeks of back and forward communication, Goodleap, LLC determined that the contractor did complete the project. In short, the contractor affirms that the **** system was installed and Goodleap, LLC backed that statement. We have evidence to prove the **** system installation was never completed. However, the contractor received full payment for this job, and we are paying back Goodleap, LLC for products/services that were never provided. During our initial conversations we only asked Goodleap, LLC to void the contract, remove the UCC1 filing, remove the loan from our credit reports, and chargeback the contractor. Unfortunately, Goodleap, LLC never agreed to it because after careful investigation it was determined that the **** system was installed, and the contractor was right. At this moment, we have spent a lot of time and money to resolve this matter. It is obvious that we have been defrauded by the contractor and Goodleap, LLC, there has been a breach of contract, several violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practice, Texas Property Code, Texas Finance Code, Consumer Credit Act Sec 75, The Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other applicable laws. Additionally to this compaint, we will contact the ************************************** of Savings and Mortgage Lending, ************************************, and the Civil Court of ****************, **.Business Response
