We purchased a solar system with Goodleap as the loan company. They told us that if we pay the tax credit back 1 1/2 year after payments start then the monthly payments with them will stay the same, if not the payment will go up by $200 a month. So of course we agree thinking we can easily pay the tax credit back when due. Well, filling taxes this year we find out that is not how the tax law works. You get the tax credit yearly till you reach the 30% of the loan you got. So basically if your loan is let's say $30,000, your tax credit is $10,000. That money will not be credited to you in one lump sum. It will be credited yearly - so if you owe $5,000 in taxes the first year, then that is the money you get back. If the following year you also owe $5,000 then by the second year you have received your full tax credit in which case you may be lucky enough to pay the 30% when Goodleap has made the deadline, but low and behold if your tax credit is more, like it was with us, we won't be able to pay that money back in one lump sum because it will be disbursed over 3 or more years. That means we would have to take out another loan just to pay Goodleap what they want (30%) 1 1/2 year after loan payments started. We are retired folks and can't afford to have our payments increased by $200 a month. One of the reasons we got the loan was so we could make monthly payments that fit our budget. As it is, we were lied to just so they could make a sale and we will have to pay more than our budget *********, be aware when you sign loan papers that you understand your tax credit for solar panels or other such environmental causes that can qualify for tax credit. Talk to your accountant before signing any paperwork.

They paid a company ******* window company the funds without confirming with us that the job was actually started. Their customer service is horrible and only wants to blame the customers. Already talked to two people in customer service. They dont apologize and dont help. They started charging interest without notifying the borrowers

Everything was confusing there was always some kind of additional fee that wasnt on my statement. I ended up getting some money elsewhere to pay them off. I only ever spoke with someone who sounded like they were in *****. The first time the loan amount was incorrect the second time they changed the interest rate up a half point and when I did the final payoff it was 236$ higher with no way to dispute it or get a real answer from someone other than a woman who couldnt understand me (*****). Everything is deceptive and meant to hurt the customer. If theres any other actions I can take from here I will pursue them.

Absolutely horrible!! The interest accrues daily and if you pay early one month and then pay on the due date the next month, your entire payment will go towards the interest because it'll be longer than 30 days from your last payment. They were running a "promotion" that you don't pay for the first 2 months but fail to tell you that when you do start paying, your payments will go to the interest first. I have been paying for 8 months and almost $800 and less than $100 has gone to principal.

So, a few years ago. My husband got a loan through Goodleap on the solar panels for our home. We have had issues with them and the company he sold us the solar panels. They will not speak to me to discuss payments when we first got them simply because my name wasnt on them. So as time went on there were still issues. My husband filed bankruptcy. We later found out that good leap put a lien on our house the day my husband signed the contract. We surrender the panels in the bankruptcy case. They were to pick up the solar panels and lift the lien. They never did. My husband is now incarcerated for a crime. Im going through a divorce. I have called them to tell them about the situation. They told me they couldnt get them. Unless it is paid in full and then theyll move it. Then they said my other option was to sell my home and solar panels included. Or refinance it in my name. But I told them I didnt want them and my house wouldnt be sold unless the lien was lifted and thats if someone else wanted to buy the house. They would transfer it to the new owners. But my house isnt worth it. Im being forced to sell my house in order to get rid of them.

Good leap was friendly and informative. The easiest loan Ive ever done. Y house is paid off so I set what I wanted to use and its great for home improvement projects and I picked exactly what I wanted to use for the loan. Terms were okay.

Im disappointed with GoodLeap due to their miscommunication and lack of support. I took out a loan with a promotion of NO INTEREST and payments for a year in Jan 24. On Jan 25, I called since I didnt receive any updates. I knew my payments were due since the promotion will end in Jan, but I couldn't find my loan agreement and didnt receive any bill statements in the mail. The agent told me I had to pay accumulated interest, but she said I could avoid paying the interest if I paid the full loan before the first payment due date of Feb 19. I knew the payment was due in Jan, but I trusted her since she didnt mention paying that month, and I didnt get a statement either.I paid the whole loan in installments and finished by Feb 18. On Feb 19, I called to confirm if they received the payment, and I was told I STILL owed accumulated interest. They also claimed the payment was ACTUALLY due on Jan 19. I only received a statement in Feb, and if the payment was due in Jan, shouldnt I have received a statement in Jan which is the entire reason I called? When I tried to resolve the issue, they refused to let me hear the recorded call where the agent stated the Feb 19 deadline. If I had known about the actual due date, I would have made the payment on time. Also, the remaining balances of the interest keep changing every single time I call an agent after I paid my whole loan off. There was no empathy when I called the loan and settlement offer department; they didnt care about my trust and had no respect. I even got rejected when I wrote a letter to negotiate. No customer service. They see you as a profit, not as a customer.I would never recommend them. Im not alone as I see a common theme with their lack of transparency in their previous reviews. It has been happening to other customers where they miscommunicate dates or charge you more than what you initially owe. They made me feel misled into a financial mess and I would give them zero stars if I could. ******.

Good leap has attempted to strong arm me into a loan they constantly low balled first promising 50k dollar, then dropped it at the last minute to 25k and finally 8k. This is a shady untrustworthy company do not work with them.
