I purchased a vehicle on 02/20/2025 Paid almost $17,000 for the Suv I went to see the vehicle on 02/20/25 and test drove it. I noticed it needed brakes and rotors. I came back and let the owner know. He brought his mechanic and test drove it he basically lied and said nothing was wrong. (Still have shaking when braking)Before purchasing the suv i asked the owner if it has been in an accident and he told me just a very minor accident. I took his word and purchased the vehicle. 1 week later I cleaned the vehicle and opened the lift gate to clean it. I noticed rust and paint bubbling on the top. I inspected it further and found more damage by the rail area. There was a piece of bondo glued by them i can smell the fresh glue inside the vehicle. They tried to cover up the damage and also failed to mention the damage (by law)Initial Complaint

We bought a 2014 ****** Sequoia from this dealer and traded our ****** Highlander. They promised to fix the broken parts of the Sequoia. They said they ordered parts and would call ** to get it fixed. We then found out the car was in an accident and never fixed. ************ said the radiator is held up with zip ties and the frame is bent. We called the dealership and they said they would fix the problem. We have not heard back from them. We took the car to a body shop and they told us the car has $8000 to $10,000 worth of damage. We can not use our insurance to repair the car, because it wasn't our car accident. We want our car fixed or they can buy the car back from us so we can purchase a safe vehicle for our family. I will upload the documents from the mechanic later today.Business Response

My general manager has worked with this customer and had the vehicle repaired. I attempted to respond to this complaint, however had been having issues logging in to BBB and working with support.
With help from my rep today, I was able to find this complaint, but it has been stated that BBB closed this complaint.

I purchased 2015 ***** Camaro 10.21.22 my down payment was $4,000. When I left the air conditioner wasnt working or break light . My check engine light came on, 10.22.22 They said to get the code read. The light went off before I could. The day I also left the car was making a clicking & squeeling noise, they then said that it was just a brand new belt. A week later on, 10.27.22 we went out of town with my husband and children to my father in laws funeral service, but my car ended up breaking down 2 hours from home, and it broke down on the freeway. Had to get a replacement battery, and found out alternator needed to be replaced. They replaced it, and then two days ago on 11.6.22 my family went to Stockton for a family event, started to head home & just barely leaving we were on the freeway and the car started making a noise and my husband said to pull off, it died on us. It was making noises again and called dealership they did towing to the mechanic. mechanic inspected it said motor been going out before they sold it they had to know when they inspected it but still sold it. Baha at Lending auto group stated he would give me a loaner vehicle. I went to the dealership where he instantly started accusing me of blowing the engine and said I hot rodded the vehicle My aunt tried explaining to him to give my money back or give me a different car since this car has left us stranded and has given us so many issues, and he stated in the beginning that I would never be ******* and everything would be covered and that if I change my mind he would switch me to a different vehicle, and that the car was inspected before! Now, warranty isnt covering and said the dealership is responsible because it hasnt been 30 days so they dont cover rental or motor in it. This car was not inspected and they sold it knowing its motor was going out. I want my money back or a different car, the bank agreed they need to because of the cars issues but they are refusing to do anythingBusiness Response

As promised before this BBB complaint was filed we have assisted this customer in getting her vehicle repaired as a goodwill gesture.
This vehicle was sold "as is" with the service contract of the customers choosing, and in addition the customer put in excess of **** miles on the vehicle before the mechanical issue started. A safety inspection can not see future vehicle issues.
There was no intention of fraud with this or any other customer. As goodwill, not legal obligation Lending Group Auto at our expense upgraded the customers service contract allowing the coverage for the mechanical failure. While Lending Group Auto was doing all that they could to resolve this matter, our customer and her husband/boyfriend were threatening the lives of our employees and harassing our staff relentlessly. In addition to the harassment of our staff the customer has smeared our reputation on mulcible social medial platforms, as she has done in the past with Carmax, we ask that this get addressed by the customer immediately.

I am rejecting this response because: it is not true. Nothing on my vehicle has been approved. Nothing has been replaced. Im yet to receive a rental still. No one has made any threats, so those are very much lies to make us look like the bad guys for their own wrong doing. Another lie is saying the car went up **** miles, when **** said it was ****. So why is mileage changing? Regardless of the mileage, I tried going out of town two times and the vehicle broke down both times. I was unable to go to my fathers memorial service the first week I got the car because it broke down, with my two children in the vehicle in the middle of the freeway. They didnt show any remorse to me missing his funeral service. They stated as promised before the BBB COMPLAINT, that they have assisted me to get my vehicle repaired as PROMISED which is also very much not true based on these text messages with the owner of him not responding, and him lying that the rental was approved yet I havent had a rental. I have been without a vehicle since November 6, 2022. I put $4,000 down on a vehicle, just for the car to break down and now it is effecting my daily life where I cannot get to work, I had to homeschool my children because I dont have a way to get them to school. I cant go to the grocery store because of this. They stated their wasnt any intent of fraud, but in the ******************* the dealership is required to inform you your vehicle you are purchasing was a rental. They failed to let me know that. The Carfax I was also shown was the Carfax for a whole different car like mine. They stated they upgraded my service contract to fix fbs vehicle, but each time I have called warranty they said nothing is still approved. Now regarding lending group auto stating that they were doing all they could, and myself and my husband were calling making threats, I do have copies of my call records as well as my husbands, and their was NEVER of any sort any threats made, and my husband has never called them. All contact with lending group auto has been made via text messages that I have copies of everything and can send copies of my calls/text messages for mine and my husbands phones from Tmobile to prove that this is very much not true, and is just a way to cause issues. They had a fake police offer calling husbands phone, after talking with police to find this officer that called us and they stated they do not have a officer under the name that the fake police call was made under and I do have documents proving that as well. Myself and my husband had not harassed anyone from here, other then myself sending messages to **** in regards to him telling me I was approved for a rental which is not true. **** also promised on November 7, 2022 that after the diagnostic, he would over night the parts for it to be fixed immediately which has not been done neither. Now regarding the response of them stating that the customer has smeared our reputation they do not have a good reputation if you look at the reviews on yelp, ******* and ********* The ******** reviews that are good are from employees at lending group auto, any other reviews are all bad reviews from customers just like myself buying vehicles and the vehicles having issues just like me. It seems almost that every vehicle they sell ends up going bad based off the reviews from everyone. I have attached some reviews as well just to show, I am not the only one to leave a review of my experience. I will not remove any reviews of my experience with this dealership, as I have the legal right and freedom of speech to warn others of our experience we have had. I did write a review on my experience with carmax as well, because my vehicle was in their hands months ago when it broke down, but carmax took care of me and fixed the issue by buying the vehicle from me.. when I have a rental vehicle and know my vehicle is actually being fixed as promised and the warranty company actually confirms it, not just lending group auto telling me its approved because those are lies of the approval,, then I will update the review. Until then,,I will not remove any of my reviews on yelp, ****** or ******** because I have the right and I did not smear their reputation by writing those reviews I just let others know of my experience before they have the same as myself and many many others that wrote reviews.
so once again, I need my vehicle fixed or my money back so I can get a car . This is affecting my daily life each day because a vehicle is very important and when I purchased from you guys and I let you guys know my experience,, you made it clear I wouldnt have any issues with my car as well as stated I would get a loaner vehicle from you guys that I have in text messages you saying I get a loaner vehicle, before you changed your mind and threatened to have your German ******* dog bite me and my aunt for wanting to speak to the owner. Who was in fact not the owner like **** stated, and was actually his wife.,

****,
I am assured that the service contract matter has been addressed allowing your vehicle to be repaired. No lie was made or intended.
As far as the treats from your husband, I myself was asked to contact the Sherriff, as he overheard making threats to our staff. I understand that he is frustrated, but it was never our intention to sell a vehicle with issues and have worked diligently to get this matter addressed. If there has been misunderstandings regarding the level of the threats, please know that we would always take a threat to our staff very seriously and would not make a false call to the Sherriff to protect our staff if we did not feel that our staff was being threatened.
I was advised that **** miles were put on this car, If I misunderstood I apologize, but **** or **** miles would not change the fact that the issue was not present at the time of purchase and developed after your purchase.
While this matter may not be concluded, it is as "Goodwill" being addressed to get your vehicle repaired. Given the circumstance Lending Group Auto has made efforts to remedy this matter for you.
I am sorry that this issue has happened and I am sorry that you are frustrated, but we are and have been working to correct the issue.

I am rejecting this response because:
I have several messages from Baha stating that my vehicle would be getting repaired, I would recieve a rental vehicle on November 7, 2022 I should of had a rental.. yet neither my vehicle has been repaired or have I received a rental that was promised. I was promised the parts on my car would be over nighted, but yet the car still hasnt been rnepsired or has the repair started.
This auto dealership is lying about the threats. Their had been no threats whatsoever made to anyone nor the staff their. They stated a sheriff over heard threats and told them to call the sheriffs, but if this was true, after speaking with my uncle who works for Sacramento Sheriff ****. , they would have been more ***** because actual threats that are made, especially if a sheriff over heard them would not be taken lightly. They are using these lies to get away with the scamming they are doing to me because they know what they did. And you are right, regardless of **** miles or **** miles, that little amount would NOT make a engine blow like you accused me of and stated that we hot rotted. I also cannot drive that many miles in a two week period, so the miles you are stating are lies as well. Each time we drove to go out of town, the vehicle broke down. The amount of miles to head out of town, the first time we made it only to Antioch which is 75 miles before the car broke down and had to get a new battery, and the second time when the motor blew we headed to Stockton was only 63 miles and it was towed back. You are very much over exaggerated on the amount of miles you are trying to say we put on the vehicle. This is not a excuse to not fix my vehicle because I did purchase a extended warranty and you made several promised to fix it and overnight parts and have it fixed in a few days as well as give me a rental in the meantime in which all this is covered by the $2000 extended warranty that I purchased. Nothing you have said has been done and now you have also ignored me.
Every review that is on yelp, that is not from your employees making false reviews, is bad reviews stating you guys are scammers and doing the same thing to all your other customers who came to you guys with trust. Now, back to the threats you said were made by my husband and overheard by the Sheriff are not true, and are more lies to make your company and actions look better. The badge number the sheriff gave us, was not a correct badge number and they do not have a sheriff under the name you gave. My husband has not reached out to you guys at all or made any threats. Impersonating a officer is illegal, as well as making false reports. I have our call logs to show no calls have been made to you guys .
You did not let me know the vehicle was sold as is nor did you let me know the vehicle was rental which you legally need to disclose when you sell a vehicle. You said if I had any issues it would be fixed and I would never go without a vehicle. Their is so many lies that were told to me since the day I left with the vehicle. Your stating this issue was not present when you sold me the vehicle, but records show the motor has been going out. Just like you accused me of hot ridding the vehicle and stated my husband cant drive it and that is illegal for him to drive, which is also more lies because he is my husband and is covered by car insurance..after the car was checked like you asked the mechanic to do to see if it was hot rod before the engine blew, the rpm show their was nothing myself did while driving to cause it to blow, because the rpms were 538, which is NORMAL DRIVING. They checked the oil level and condition, and both were good and did not cause it to blow! So indeed, your accusations that you accused me of instead of accepting the fact you sold me a car with issues, were very much false! A engine doesnt blow in that short period of time, after talking to several mechanics. This was a ongoing issue. You stated when the check engine light came on that ut was from the alternator, which a alternator would not cause a check engine light to come on. All these issues were very much known about and if inspected like you legally must do before selling would have known the issues.
you say you are sorry regarding all of these issues and that you are going out of your way to address the issues, then where is my rental vehicle you promised in text messages as well as when is my vehicle going to be ready? Because from what I was told nothing has been approved yet or has the repair been started. The rental you said was approved was also not approved. So no more lies I need honesty and communication .

I will forward our concerns to management, as I don't know what was promised only that they have gotten the coverage to get your vehicle repaired.
You misread or misunderstood the over hearing of threats. I did not state that a sheriff over heard the complaint, but multiple employees and I was asked to call the sheriff because it was alarming. Their definition of threats may be different from yours. I don't want to debate this or offend you any longer, I am stating the facts as I know them.

To whom it may concern, my name is *****************************, I am 18 years old. I purchase my 1st vehicle from lending group auto so I can get back-and-forth to work. I purchased an extended warranty for $1200 which got canceled by the owner. The owner made contact with me to come in and redo my contract after he stated he had to fire all his employees for cutting corners. The new contract included canceling my extended warranty. I asked the owner to give me a couple of days to think about it he said if you don't sign the new contract you cannot drive my car off the lot. I felt pressured so I went ahead and signed the contract. A few weeks later my car started to overheat, I had to replace a pump, then a Thermostat then a radiator. Now I'm being told my head gasket is gone and the engine need to be replaced. So far I have had my vehicle for 5 months and no more than a month after the purchase I've been having problems with the car overheating please help me get into a reliable vehicle so I can get back-and-forth to work. Thank you for your time PS, *****************************.Business Response

We here at lending group are sorry to hear you are having these issues and truly hope you are able to work through them. However only portions of your statements are accurate. First of all yes we were unable to obtain financing that would allow for you to carry the extra money for the warranty in your loan due to your credit profile and inability to provide the necessary documentation to support the content of your application for credit, not our access to lenders, and not because we did not want you to have the warranty. You along with your father were given the option to return the vehicle and receive a refund of your down payment and there would be no charge for the 30 days you had been driving the vehicle. You took several hours to make your decision and it was yours to make with no pressure at all. You along with your father made several calls and engaged in several long discussions between the two of you prior to deciding to move forward and keep the vehicle as you needed it for work. All though we can appreciate your frustration you must understand that vehicles do break and their repair is the responsibility of the owner. Good luck to you in the future.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: We understand cars do break down. But a car purchase for $14000 plus the amount of interest of $10000 like I mentioned before I already had to replace the pump to the coolant I had to get a new thermostat and I had to replace the radiator. I even had to get an oil change now the mechanic says the engine is no good.Sounds like a Lemon to **** haven't had the car for more than 5 months. The Salesman told me to trust him so I did to my demise I would like lending auto to replace The engine or allow me to return the vehicle with a 0 balance and no damage to my credit. I made all my monthly payments on time with the burden of having to replace all the parts to get the car running.Thank you and I Pray this situation get resolved.Business Response

Again we appreciate your frustration and hope you are able to resolve it. We stand by our previous response and reiterate the fact that you had the opportunity to return the vehicle and opted not todo so. It is time for you to take the responsibility of ownership upon yourself as you are the owner of the vehicle. Good luck to you.Initial Complaint

We purchased a vehicle for $7300, on March 21, 2022. Within 44 days the check engine light has come on, and the air conditioner needs major work. When we contacted the dealership, they said that it was not their problem, even though we had just purchased the vehicle, less than 2 months ago. We paid $150 to charge the *** so it would work for the time being. The dealership should reimburse us for that, and also any repairs the car needs, to fix the check engine light, and to completely repair the *** As of yet, we have not received a quote for the check engine light, so we dont know what the problem is, or what the cost will be.Business Response

You paid $6,395.00 for a 10 year old vehicle with ******* miles on it and opted not to purchase a service contract that would cover these types of issues. Unfortunately vehicles break down on occasion and require repairs. I am sure this is not the first time this vehicle has needed to be repaired over the last 10 years and I am also sure this will not be the last. This is exactly why we offer and recommend all of our customers invest in a service contract in order to protect them from unexpected expenses. I am sorry you are experiencing these issues but you opted to go with the $6,395.00 used **** rather than the new one for somewhere around $17,000.00 which you must have known came with the possibility and likeliness of more frequent repairs being needed. Good luck to you in the future and I hope your family enjoys the vehicle moving forward.Initial Complaint

Traded in a 2017 **** Transit for a **** ***** Suburban on 4/12/2022. I had negative equity in the 2017 Transit and paid $4600 to cover the negative equity and down payment for the **** Suburban. During test drive and visual inspection of suburban, I noted the bald tires and rear disc brake pads that looked worn. Part of the agreement that was added as a "Due ****" was to replace the brakes if under 50%, new Michellin Tires and rear A/C to work. The engine compartment was clean as well as under the car. No oil leaks or evidence of oil leaks were noted. I was offered a car off the lot to borrow as they performed the repairs on the suburban. On 4/14/2022, I drove to the dealership and picked up the suburban. I was told the brakes were almost new and the tires were cheap new tires (not the tires noted in the due ****). On 4/15/22, I woke up to multiple oil leaks under the suburban. Brought it to a third party mechanic (************** in *********) and was told/shown that the brake pads in the front are the wrong size, brakes in the rear are serviceable, and 4 major components are leaking totaling over 7k dollars to repair. Reached out to dealership requesting either car be returned or repaired to the condition it was sold to me as. Was lead on until I made contact with "Baja" the operations manager who had me come in with the vehicle on 4/29/22 where he directed me to bring the car to one of his mechanics down ********************* verified leaks and issues but argued against the brake condition without removing the tires. It was relayed to me by "Baja" that his intention was to have his mechanic repair the vehicle while expecting me to pay 50%. I did not agree and took the vehicle back. I asked about returning the vehicle as an option and was told that it was not. On 5/2/2022 I contacted a local mechanic not involved to perform the repairs in hopes of getting a more conservative quote. Same day the suburban lost brake control as we drove it to the mechanics shop.Business Response

Tyler,
We have attempted to work with you and address your issues and you have declined.
The suburban has been thru a safety inspection (see attached). The estimate for repairs that you provided is aggressive and unwarranted. If the vehicle was truly
experiencing some of the failures listed; you would more than likely have a check engine light on and drivability issues to which are not listed in your concerns.
We attempted to have a technician look at your brakes, but you refused to allow the technician to remove your tires for a closer inspection. If there was an issue we would have
had that addressed immediately, but you chose to take the vehicle.
We have sold you a used car as is and offered to sell you an extended warranty to cover failures should they occur and you declined.
With regards to the tire issue. We installed new tires on the vehicle as per your request. You wanted Michelins, but agreed with the owner that
the tires placed on the vehicle were satisfactory.
We stand by our offer to have the work done, by our recommended technician, as the estimate you provided was out of line and reason.

I am rejecting this response because:
There was no safety inspection or list of repairs provided by the dealer before, during, or after the transaction. (No attachment was provided in the dealers rebuttal)
The amount of issues related to the vehicle was listed in the inspection document I attached originally. My complaint was a broad overview of the situation.
After multiple attempts to contact the dealer over a 2 week period with no call backs, I was told that the local ***** Dealership would look at it. After arriving at the dealer I was told that the option I had was to take it down the street to a mechanics shop that works closely with the dealer. The mechanic lifted the suburban and immediately identified multiple leaks that directly supported the inspection I was provided by my mechanic. After several back and forth discussions, it was relayed to me that I would have to pay a minimum of half the costs of the repairs, while keeping the suburban there over the weekend at a minimum. Verbally I was told that the costs were in the 3-4k range. This was the first time I was told that I would have to pay anything to fix the suburban. The mechanic then attempted to persuade me to allow him to look at the brakes closure before I left since he already got paid for it.
I immediately relayed to the mechanic that I did not intend to pay for any of the repairs and requested my vehicle back. I relayed my position to the dealer and left.
The following week, my wife was driving the suburban and the brakes failed while leaving my house. She had to slam the suburban into Park to prevent an accident. She attempted to drive back into the driveway and almost hit the garage. This whole ordeal was caught on our security camera. I notified the dealer one last time that the suburban had major issues. I was told I would get a call back. Never received one.
I immediately had the suburban brought to a separate mechanic and had them perform an inspection. This inspection coincided with the original inspection and was more exhaustive in the items needing immediate attention. The total for the repairs were well over 9k.
As for the tires, I have a Due **** explicitly stating that Michelin Tires were to be installed on the suburban as a part of the purchase. The dealer decided to change their minds and install the cheapest tires available without telling me. I was not ok with this change.
Not at any point did I feel like the dealership represented themselves with any integrity. I had no reason to trust them or the mechanic performing the work. The vehicle was completely washed down before I purchased it which hid the amount of leaks. When I purchased the vehicle, no leaks were present.
To date I have spent more money on repairs than the vehicle itself. I gave the dealership multiple opportunities to take the vehicle back. The only option I received from them was for their mechanic to do the repairs and for me and to pay half of it.Business Response

I apologize for not attaching the documents. Please see attached documents.
Lending Group Auto did not attempt a cover-up of leaks, that is not at all how we do business. Lending Group Auto sold to you in
good faith a used vehicle "as is" with the option to purchase a extended warranty that you declined.
Out of goodwill, Lending Group Auto has offered to pay 1/2 of the repairs agreed to by the repair shop that we deal with on a regular bases and you declined. We attempted to have your brakes inspected before the failure and you declined.
I will will pass your message back to the general manager, he has had an injury and has not been here, but will return on Friday of this week

On Feb 19,2022 I purchased a **** ****** Titan 4x4 with around ***** miles on it. Low miles, nice clean truck. On the way home the head lights went out and had to drive home with no lights, fine replaced plug next day. Had to replace main window switch in driver door, no big deal, the washer nozzel had to be replaced next. Now the radio, antenna, Fine its used and there will be things that need replaced after time no problem, **** even said he would take care of it. I said I already fixed the things that were taken care of no big deal. The interior lights do not turn on when door is opened and have to replace the whole upper councel for the switch that controls them, ok fine I will deal with it. So 3 weeks ago driving home from work the radiator springs a leak, the bottom tank sprung a leak. so I then replaced it with a new one ******... when replacing it I noticed that I was missing the front drive shafts for the 4 wheel drive. I called and talked with Garret and his dad **** and they said we sold it as a 4x4 and it is not, give me a call on Monday so we can take care of this and make it right. Well been calling and calling to find **** on the other line he will call you back. Well today 4/16/2022 I am still waiting for the call back. I was fine with replacing the other things but not having to make it a 4x4 on my own, I am so upset that once they made the sale they are done with the ****( customer ). This is what they look at the public as is a **** they steal there money that they work hard for. They don't call back or help when you drive away. I regret the purchase that I made. The truck has ***** miles on it. I was scammed after all this.Business Response

***************,
I have pulled your documents and there is nothing indicating that this vehicle is a 4wd.
The vehicle was advertised as a 2wd, all of the documents to which you have signed and been provided indicate that the vehicle is a 2wd vehicle. (see attachments)I apologize for your misunderstanding. Lending Group Auto did not misrepresent this vehicle, nor was there any deception. You were given the opportunity to test drive the vehicle and all of the documentation clearly states that this vehicle is a 2wd. In addition you have had the vehicle in your possession for 2 months, this is long past any goodwill consideration, you have had ample time to discover that this vehicle is infact a 2wd and not a 4wd.
It is clear that there has been a misunderstanding, but not a deception. Should you have any documentation otherwise Lending Group will always stand by our word. If it is a 4wd vehicle that you require, we are happy to take the vehicle back in trade for a more suitable vehicle.
