I am a licensed provider and ***** has copied my information and put it on their site without my permission. They are making it look like I am a provider in their network and that is not true. I am not and do not want to be affiliated with them. I have asked they remove myself from their website and received no response.Business response

Hi there,
Thank you for contacting 7 Cups. 7 Cups is the worlds largest mental health community. We have over ******* trained volunteer listeners across 189 countries that provide support in 140 languages. We have reached over 73 million people. Often, we need to make referrals to licensed clinicians, shelters, and food pantries. That is why we built our provider directory and local support service. We are now starting to make referrals to local clinicians.
The goal of the local support systems (************************) is to connect people online to services offline so they can get better help. We believe therapists are an important part of local support systems. We are providing therapists the option of a free month of being listed on 7 Cups. We are also providing this service to therapists free of charge if they cannot afford it as we think it is important for therapists to get referrals and build their practice. We want to feature as many therapists we can as part of the local support system.
We have deleted your listing several days ago when you had requested deletion. You're welcome to join our local support system at any point in the future to help you help even more people!

To the Better Business Bureau,I am submitting this complaint regarding 7 Cups' refusal to cancel my account and issue a refund, despite multiple requests. This situation has caused me significant frustration and financial inconvenience due to their lack of response and customer support options. On October 29, 2024, I submitted my first request via their website to cancel my account and process a refund for charges. However, I did not receive any response. There is no email address available for direct contact, and messages sent through their website have gone unanswered. Moreover, the company does not provide a phone number for customer service, leaving me with no way to resolve this matter promptly.Despite my initial cancellation request, I was charged again on November 29, 2024. After this charge, I submitted a second request to cancel my account and process a refund. To date, I have not received any acknowledgment or resolution to either of my requests. This is unacceptable. I expect 7 Cups to:Immediately cancel my account.Refund all unauthorized charges made since my first cancellation request on October 29, 2024.I am requesting the BBBs assistance to ensure that 7 Cups addresses this issue promptly. If this matter is not resolved within a reasonable timeframe, I will explore additional avenues, including disputing the charges with my financial institution.I trust the BBB will take the necessary steps to hold 7 Cups accountable for their lack of responsiveness and customer *************** Information:*** ********** ************ ***********************Business response

7 Cups website listed my professional services without my consent, copy and pasting my verified psychotherapist ******************* profile information. After requesting my unauthorized profile be removed, instead they provided a limited time sales offer to join their professional registry at a discount. I declined and again requested my information be removed from their website. My information listed on their page jeopardizes my licensing credentials due to false representation of professional services, may deter prospective referrals from using verified sources to contact me directly for services resulting in profit loss.Business response

7 Cups has stripped my name and information from a paid professional profile (I believe PsychologyToday) and posted it on their own website. They are claiming that I am a mental health provide within their network, but I am not affiliated with them in any way. They have left out my contact information so that potential clients who see the profile are not able to contact me directly and are rerouted to another provider. I know that they have done this to many other providers as well. Basically, it is a bate-and-switch. I made a request for the profile to be updated to state that I am not affiliated with them and to provide my contact information, or to remove the profile. They have not responded or adjusted the profile. I am reaching out again, but am very frustrated.Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. While I need no further action from the business, I would like to make it known that they only took action 4 days ago, following my complaint to the BBB. Their response reads as if they resolved the issue a long time ago on their own, but that is not accurate. I simply want that information in this record.

The nature of the dispute is that this company is committing fraud may be breaking copyright laws, etc. They stole and are using my Name, Profile picture, and Biography information from my Psychology today service that I pay for so clients can contact and seek therapy from me. I'm an LMHC Licensed Mental Health Counselor in ** and have never worked for this company who seems to scam people seeking counseling, take their money, and not provide them the service. I sent them an email to resolve this and have heard nothing back. There isn't a phone no to contact, or a Contact address available on the site. I also reported to ****** and they cannot remove it. I will be reporting it to the *** as well. I do not want my excellent therapist rating, or my reputation defamed by this third party. It is also causing people seeking counseling harm.Business response

The website for 7 cups has my professional information listed on there as a mental health therapist. I have never consented to having my information listed on their website and their practices are fraudulent and misleading. There are several other therapists who are experiencing the same issue. The website uses our Professional information to lure mental health clients to use their services and it is without our consent.Business response

I am a licensed mental health counselor in *************. I recently discovered that 7 Cups has created an unauthorized profile for me using information from professional directories without my consent. This profile misrepresents my practice and could mislead potential clients, as I have no affiliation with 7 Cups. Through a professional peer network, I learned that this issue is not unique to me. It appears that 7 Cups has created profiles for numerous therapists without their permission, potentially misleading clients and violating our rights as professionals.7 Cups provides an option to claim my profile for $29.99/month, but no easy option for removal. I request that 7 Cups immediately removes my unauthorized profile and that they confirm this removal. Additionally, I urge 7 Cups to stop the unauthorized use of therapists information to protect the public and ensure accuracy in representing professional services.Business response

On 11/7/24 I was made aware that 7 cups has harvested my data and stolen it off of my business website and posted on their website for their own personal gain. I am a reputable LCSW therapist and they stole my information and posted on on their site to make it look like I was affiliated with 7 cups. I have never heard of this website or company in my life until this evening. When my colleague told me she found my name on there. They are harvesting data and stealing information thats protected off the Internet for their own financial gain. They need to be shut down. They are also posing as an actual therapy service when in fact it looks as though most people are volunteers and are not even licensed as Therapists. This is unsafe and can cause real harm to people in need of an actual therapist. This is also unethical as they are misleading people who could be vulnerable.Business response

There are many directories on the Internet, medical and otherwise. For example, have you ever looked at a house on zillow? That is an example of a housing directory.

This is unacceptable. The example of a house being posted on Zillow is compelely erroneous. No one would look at Zillow and think that the house posted there is being sold by ******. Everyone understands that Zillow is a site to help people look for a house. By my information being posted on 7 cups, it looks as though I am affiliated with 7 cups. There is no such thing as "expert listeners" and this site is unethical for that reason, taking away from the actual trained profession of being a psychotherapist. I have not going to school for 6 years and gone through 4 years of supervision to be categorized as a "volunteer expert listener". It is unfair for therapist to have to "opt out" of having their data posted on a site that they did not consent to.Business response
