I am a former employee of Angelos towing in 348 w *************** in ***********. I was wrongfully terminated and left without pay for half of the time that I worked there and still havent been contacted or paid by this company. Theyre extremely unprofessional and the manager they call *** has no idea how to run a tow company or even communicate with his workers in the slightest form. I was planning on seeing my daughter for her high school graduation and I could not because he said that it was an accounting issue. And then when I called the corporate office he decided to fire me five minutes later after chasing him down 4 days later begging him to fix my paycheck. Honestly my experience when working for this company was horrible and I hope no one ever has to go through not getting paid and taken advantage of because this is a San Diego based company and he is there only point of contact here. I think theyre doing this on purpose to not pay people and by making sure that you cant reach anyone. This is wrong.

******'s Towing is writing this response to the matter that ************************* has been making overtures about since his termination.  In regard to his complaint of not being paid for work hours that are in dispute, he has been informed that a check has been awaiting his pickup for all hours in his final time sheet.  To date he has refused to come to the office to get his final check.  During the 3 weeks of employment that he was employed with ******'s Towing, there had been several acts of insubordination that he was warned would not be tolerated.  ******************** continued to harass management and AAA personnel that were conducting business with ******'s Towing.  In an effort to resolve his dispute about payment, he was given an opportunity to list the days and hours in dispute.  Once he gave his list of days and hours, a check was written in the amount he said was in question.  After that was done, he decided that he was still not satisfied, and he started calling the main office in ********* where he spoke to staff in the finance office, the general manager and he sent several emails to the owner of the company all the while threatening to get an attorney involved.  The conduct of ************************* has become of great concern, and it was decided that it was best to terminate him and end his disruptive behavior.  Unfortunately, he has continued his pattern of harassment and now he has contacted the BBB as part of an ongoing campaign to demoralize ******'s Towing and the manager at that site, *******************.   What's even more shocking, is that throughout this ordeal, ******************** has made repeated attempts to get his job back despite expressing the sentiment expressed in his complaint with the BBB.  We wish him well in his pursuits and if he would prefer, the check can be mailed to the address we have on file.  If the address on file is not correct, he is welcome to let the BBB know what the best address is, and the check will go in the mail the day we get that information.

On Monday June 3rd 2024 I called AAA to have my car towed. Everything was smooth until we got to the shop. I was inside talking to the service managers and was walking out and almost to the street when an employee came running out of the building and told me I needed to stay there so I could run out back and look at my car. But to wait around and see if the driver was going to say anything to anyone first. He didnt say anything and drove off. Well after he left I went to my car to find it wedged into a concrete recession of a ditch and against a fence. After reviewing the video footage that the business sent me, the driver can be seen letting my car go halfway down the flat bed with no E brake on. The vehicle the rolls down the embankment, scrapes against the concrete as it bottomed out and onto the other side where it ran into the business fence and broke it. The driver, after I called and told them texted and called me saying sorry he didnt mean it. He provided some pictures of the only damage he felt there was but didnt look all the way underneath the car or get any close up photos where you can completely see so much damage. I had already taken my own photos. And have them to share. But now that I got my car back I got the car up and got more and better pictures. I called and asked to speak to the ** or Owner twice now and have gotten nothing back. I even offered to release them from claims if they just replaced half of the issues. But still got no call. Damage: Chin ********* brand new and was scratched all up. Bumper- cracked at corners where it was pinned into concrete. Exhaust- H pipe bent and scratched. Exhaust Tips- scraped bad Exhaust mid pipes- bent, coatings scratched off. Splash guard- all scraped up Rear end- paint damage Header down pipes- scraped up Now two complaints filed with AAA. A detective from SAPD is supposed to be coming in see me tomorrow. And will contact Attorney General tomorrow.

I am sending this response to the BBB based on the information provided by the *** MBR concerning alleged damage to his vehicle.  Based on the information provided by my driver, the damage was only to the tailpipe tips from the pictures that my driver took at the scene and the wooden fence that the vehicle rolled into.  The fence will be repaired at a cost of $80.  As for the vehicle, so far, I have not heard from the owner despite his reporting calls that have gone unanswered.  I've taken the liberty of calling the owner without success, but I have left messages for a return call to discuss next steps to get the vehicle inspected and a course of repair determined if needed.  I am aware that my driver gave the owner his cell number, but the driver has not heard back from the owner at this point other than some text messages that the driver shared with me.  It's imperative that the owner contact me directly to bring this situation to a resolution.

On the night of January 30th, ******'s towing, towed my vehicle a 1985 Oldsmobilecutlass, 2 blocks down the driver called me back stating that there was an accident and the my vehicle was damaged, the vehicle was only held by 2 straps and not 4 point strap as it should've been, I requested insurance information from the driver and said they didn't have it. But I would be contacted by someone the next morning, the next day *********************** from ******'s towing called. They did accept and acknowledge it was their fault. They wanted to send me to mission hills autobody which I called and they said they don't work on 2015 vehicles and older. Then ****** asked me to get some repair quotes and it was very difficult because of the age of the vehicle. I was able to obtain 2, I submitted on email and made multiple calls. I kept calling and emailing and simply got the run around with no answer. Last week I was called by ****** to take my vehicle to mission hills autobody and when I spoke to ******* he was not aware of the estimates and damage to my vehicle. Called and emailed ******'s towing again with no response again. I also requested insurance information again, my preferred method of resolving this would be for their insurance to take care of this. It's been 6 weeks today with no answer or attempt to solve this

To whom it may concern, I have had my staff working diligently to resolve the damage to the vehicle owned by ********************. Most recently, I took the liberty of calling an associate to ensure that they would be able to do the body work necessary to restore ************************ vehicle back to its original status once parts were located. I was told that ******************** called to speak to the shop staff and insisted on new parts for his vehicle. It has since been determined that that information was not correct, he insisted on getting replacement parts if they could be located. I then instructed my staff to work with both the body shop and ******************** to locate the parts if possible and to get the vehicle repaired so that this matter could be closed to the satisfaction of all parties. I truly hope this clears up any and all misunderstandings that have impacted getting ************************ vehicle restored. I was informed that ******************** has agreed to allow the process to move forward.

On 11/24/2022 I had to call AAA insurance for roadside assistance. AAA sent out a contracted company named Angelos Towing to replace my dead battery in my vehicle. On 11/19/2023 my vehicle stopped working and would not start. After multiple battery jumps from AAA, I had to get my vehicle towed to the Jeep dealership. I was informed by the Jeep dealership that Angelos Towing installed the incorrect car battery in my vehicle which resulted in the drainage of the Jeeps auxiliary battery and damage to the *** system in my vehicle. I have filed a case complaint with AAA and they filed against Angelos Towing. Angelos Towing is only willing to repair the main battery and refuses to repair or reimburse the damage done to my vehicles auxiliary battery and *** system. The negligence of improper installation of the incorrect battery has damaged my vehicle mechanically and is both a financial & mental stressor. Angelos Towing was given prior vehicle information to fit the correct battery installation but they incorrectly installed the wrong battery. This could have been a safety issue. My car is a 5 year old car therefore the auxiliary battery will not fail unless it has been completely drained by the wrong battery since the auxiliary battery lasts 5-8 years. Angelos Towing installed a flood battery instead of the required *** battery. My vehicle requires the *** battery due to the start to stop system in the vehicle. I would appreciate Angelos Towing to cover the cost of the repair of the vehicle at the dealership or reimburse the repair of the vehicle. That is all I am asking for. I have had no vehicle for a week and I am awaiting for a resolution. Thank you.

******'s Towing has tried to address the *** Customer as can be seen from the attached information that was provided. ******'s stands behind our statement that we are more than willing to address the warranty issues for the main battery. In accordance with the manufacturer determination, both batteries need to be replaced and ******'s Towing is willing to replace the battery that was labeled "Flooded". Clearly the dealer that the car was diagnosed at did not make the correlation that the "Flooded Battery" caused the Auxiliary Battery to fail, even the *** MBR stated that the battery was designed to last 5-8 years in her letter to the BBB. The vehicle is 5 years old, and the battery needs to be replaced. In accordance with the specifications of the vehicle, once the Auxiliary Battery fails, other components that are connected to the Auxiliary Battery tend to fail and that's the situation that she is experiencing. The dealer writes in their report that even though the "Flooded Battery" test "Good", it's not the manufactured preferred battery for the Jeep that she owns and that is what I pointed out that ******'s Towing is willing to replace. It's not ******'s Towing responsibility to replace the "Auxiliary Battery" or any of its related damage, that's the owner's responsibility to replace. The owner stated that that battery was installed in November of 2022, but a year later, the battery still tests "Good", but the "Auxiliary Battery" is bad, and the dealer is recommending that both batteries be replaced along with a fuse that was taken out as a result of the bad "Auxiliary Battery". The only reason the dealer is recommending that the "Flooded Battery" be replaced is because it's not recommended by the manufacturer.  In the case of the "Flooded Battery", ******'s Towing is willing to replace it with a manufacturer approved battery at no cost to the customer. The Auxiliary Battery has reached its shelf life and it's time for it to be replaced.

I reject the business response because I have already paid the repair of my vehicle at the Jeep dealership. Due to the negligence of Angelos Towing and Recovery, I was held responsible for the cost of the repair because I do not trust business to occur with their company again. According to the certified Jeep dealership technicians, their report concludes that the wrongful installation of the incorrect battery was the cause of the damage to my vehicle. The ****** of ********** Repair has also concluded that it was negligence of workmanship.

      Business response

      12/11/2023

******'s Towing stands by its original decision that the Auxiliary Battery is the owner's responsibility, and the owner was notified that the Flooded battery that was installed was warranted by ******'s Towing and would be replaced at no cost to the owner provided we could exchange batteries, the original that ******'s Towing installed for the *** that the dealer recommended.  In this case, this offer was provided to the owner prior to her going ahead and having the dealer change both batteries. The vehicle is more than five years old, and the Auxiliary Battery failed due to its age and only due to its age. The owner insist that the dealer shares her sentiment that the battery and fuse failed due to the battery that ******'s Towing installed is not true and nothing that she has shared with ******'s Towing suggest that. At this point, if the owner wants to exchange the original battery with an *** replaceable battery, ******'s Towing is more than willing to accommodate that exchange and that is the extent of what can and will be done to assist this owner. The owner has made it clear in her response that that our gesture is not wanted as she has taken the position to pay the dealer to replace both batteries and that is her prerogative. Our goal is to aways provide our customers with the best service that we can offer and it's unfortunate that we could not make this the case with this customer, but that does not change our goal of providing good customer service and standing behind our warranties as was offered to this customer and remains the offer if this customer wants to exchange batteries.

      Customer response

      12/11/2023

How will I have entrusted Angelos Recovery and Towing to replace my battery when in fact they are the ones who installed the incorrect battery in the first place? It would be absurd to assume that I would willingly comply to their business principles seeing as their business has damaged their reputation after their first incident. I would accept it if they admitted to their negligence and at least offered to pay part of the damages but this business should not even be allowed to provide their services.

my vehicle was encountered from September 7th to September 11th and they are charging me for 5 days of impound when it should be only 4 days for example:9/7 to 9/8 = Day 1 9/8 to 9/9 = Day 2 9/9 to 9/10 = Day 3 9/10 to 9/11 = Day 4 4 days obviously unless they're days do not contain 24 hours.also outside it is clearly state that the Lien fee is $70 and I was charged $85.and a merchant fee that appeared at the last minute I need to know if that is legitimate or not.so I'm looking for a reimbursement of one day that equals $67 $15 overcharge on the ****** fee. Merchant Fee of $19.95 that was not explained to me when asked for an explanation.$67+$15+19.95= seeking reimbursement of:$101.95 PLUS interest for the time I was not able to use my money and they were able to use it.Really appreciate your assistance.

I got off work at 6pm and called them when I noticed my car wasnt there and had been towed and they said I called too late because the people didnt leave the paperwork. So since I couldnt pick it up that day they charged an extra 95. And the next day was Monday Presidents Day and they said I couldnt get it that day so they charged an extra 95. They said if I were to pick it up Presidents Day then there would be a fee of 100 because of the holiday so it wouldve just been cheaper to wait a day. And then I went to the office, Tuesday 2/21, and they said I couldnt get it because my dad is the registered owner even though the insurance is under my name and Im paying for the insurance and registration fees. They told me I could get a notary letter but my dad works until 5pm so I had to pick it up today,Wednesday, which adds another 95. Which makes my total about $704. I called Sunday at 6 pm and they told me my total would be 615 if I picked it up Monday because of the holiday and after gate hours and 609 if I picked it up Tuesday. I even called last night, Tuesday night, and they confirmed my total was 609. When I went to get my car today, Wednesday, the total was about 800. So from last night to this morning they charged two more days of storage fees. I dont think it was fair of me to get charged all of this because I called Sunday night and it wasnt my fault they didnt have the paperwork. And I called that day and asked them specifically what I needed to get my car and they said license and registration papers they didnt say owner of vehicle. This has never happened to me before so it was their responsibility to tell me what I needed after specifically asking them to.

I am a ****************************************************************** a parking lot for too long and was charged multiple different fees for random towing services when I was told by the tower that I would be charge only $200 when in the end the company has ended up with all my debit card information, PIN number, my father's identification card (driver's license) and new credit card information. I am concerned because in the end $519.99 was charged to my father's credit card and I feel as though I was taken advantage of as a woman not knowing how this process works and the towing company was very rude and insisted on having a lot of my personal information on file.

In order for us to release vehicle we need to have proff that the vehicle owner is who they said they are. This is the reason we ask for registraion and identification. For auditing purposes we make copies of both. We do not keep record od the complete card number only the last four of the card number which is shown on receipt. After ten years that is all shreded and discarded appropriately.
