I prepaid for rental with Fox Rent a Car thru Wisecars. My travel plans were to drive from ******* to ********. I went to pick up my rental at *** only to be informed that they could not rent to me because ******** was not a "bordering" state. I immediately called Wisecars for a refund but was told that I was a "no show" and not eligible for a refund. After months of dealing with Wisecars poor lying customer service, I never did receive a refund or credit. A word of advice, Do Not rent from Wisecars. They will rip you off!!!Wisecars

Every car rental company has certain geographical restrictions in place, which are clearly stated in the rental conditions before the payment is completed. These restrictions are set by the rental provider and are not unique to Wisecars. Unfortunately, failure to comply with the suppliers travel policy results in a no-show, as per the terms and conditions you accepted at the time of booking. As a result, the reservation became non-refundable.
We are always here to help clarify any conditions before travel, and we recommend carefully reviewing all rental requirements, especially regarding travel restrictions, to avoid issues at pick-up.

Unfortunately the response from Wisecars is full of misinformation, inconsistencies, misrepresentation and lies. I had the same problem as many people did here in the reviews below. Never mentioned a credit card deposit to pick up the vehicle. Also said i would not be able to receive any type of refund on my $400 payment for the car I rented for about 2 weeks. The lady on the phone was very unprofessional and seemed to care about the money more than helping me as if she would be losing money herself if she didn't refund me.Wisecars

Rented vehicle on 4/3/25. From Wisecars online and paid $92.50 same day for a ****** Elantra from the Wisecar 3rd party to pick up at Consolidated Car rental at **************************************************************************************************************************************************** . Great deal. Cancelled insurance option, unlimited mileage was offered, nothing stating that Florida residents have 50 miles per day, $2500 credit card deposit, and especially nothing stating that your rental contract will be cancelled as a no show if not there within hour. Showed up on time, but line was out door. Called Wisecar and was put on hold and problem never resolved after waiting on hold. Will never ever ever ever ever go through a third partyWisecars

I requested a car pickup at 10PM at ***********, Wisecars charged me 300 for the prepaid reservation. I showed up to find that the desk was closed at 10PM. I had to scramble to get a last minute late night reservation, and tried for the next 6 months to get a refund from Wisecars, but with no success. Their customer service lied about being billed by the carrier (Thrifty, who confirmed that they never billed Wisecars for this). **************** kept claiming that I was a no-show because I arrived after the desk was closed, which was a silly argument because the desk was closed when I needed the car. ************ who stole $300 from me.Wisecars

This means the rental process must be completed by this time, not started. Unfortunately, arriving after the location has closed results in being unable to pick up the vehicle. I recently booked a rental car through Wisecars and had an extremely negative experience. The provider listed on my voucher was CarQ Rent a Car, but upon arrival to the site on November 22, 2024, I was redirected to ***************, a company infamous for scamming customers (verified by numerous negative Yelp reviews). Had I known the actual providers name, I would never have accepted this booking.Despite providing all required documentation, including my third-party liability (TPL) coverage through *********************, the rental company refused to honor the booking unless I purchased their own TPL coverage. I even went the extra mile by contacting Progressive twice, and their agents confirmed to the front desk person that my insurance was valid and transferable to the rental car. The rental company still rejected it, making the booking impossible to use.I contacted Wisecars on the spot to report the issue and request a refund. They promised to investigate and follow up by November 23. After not receiving an update, I wrote to them again on November 25 to request the refund. They finally contacted me on November 28, denying the refund request, and calling this event a no-show, even though the rental providers behavior was completely unreasonable and contrary to the agreement.Wisecars misrepresented the rental provider, failed to resolve the issue, and refused to take responsibility for their partners predatory practices. This experience has left me deeply frustrated, and I strongly caution others against booking through Wisecars. They do not stand behind their bookings or protect their customers from dishonest practices by their partners.Choose another platform if you value transparency, accountability, and peace of mind.Wisecars

Is there a way we can zero rating for this car rental service?We booked car rental for our upcoming trip 6 months in advance and nearing our trip they informed that car rental is not available and gave us Phone number for Dollar/Thrifty customer service to directly talk to them. I was informed by Dollar CS that there is no booking done by Wisecars. Wisecars is a scan service and if someone is reading this need to avoid their service. Better use service from leading car rental platform.They did not even honor or attempt to rebook and told me I have to pay almost time and half more for rebooking. Ideally a good company will honor this as this is their fault as they took the payment in advance. Also their refund will be only after 15 days and told me call again if it does not go through. Hopefully some people read this before booking with Wisecars and not get scammed. Worst car rental service ever.Wisecars

***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY***I booked a car for a 5 day period between 10/10 and 10/15. I booked the car on or about 8/18. During that two month gap between booking and landing at the airport I received a notification that the car rental company utilized to furnish the car (Dollar) was not able to guarantee a car for me. This was followed up by a notification informing me that Dollar had confirmed the rental and that there was no worries. When I arrived at the airport to get my car, Dollar informed me that Wisecars had cancelled the contract (for which I had paid a down payment of $258.83 on the booking date). Thus there was no car available. I immediately contacted Wisecars and filed a ticket to ensure I would be refunded the down payment. I have followed up with them on a near daily basis to ensure they are tracking my money they have no stolen. They have assured me with messages they are doing so. It is now a month past the initial problem with no evidence of anything happening. This company is a joke and should not be permitted to do business. This is absurd and not right. Do yourself a favor and dont use them. Secondarily if you do and you receive any slightly questionable notification, immediately file a dispute with your credit card company and work on getting your money back because Wisecars will certainly not help you at all. They are a false and misleading company. I will never use them again and you should not either.Wisecars

The absolute worst-a total scam. I reserved a rental car in ****** for a cheap price. When I arrived, I was informed Wisecars had cancelled my voucher because I was an hour late. The rental car company, Clickrent, was happy to rebook us at over 3x the advertised price.
