  Shady business practices, basically still money from my business with no results of gaining new business, theyre a scam. When you ask to speak to a manager they send it via email so you never get to speak to someone that can possibly get your money back that you spent for absolutely nothing.

  Professionals get charged for leads who dont even respond. We get charged even a client talked to us saying I hired another person. I got bitten by clients dog (my watch was broken and long sleeve for 2 big holes - I could have been dead without my watch) but nothing gets done. I got clients who didnt pay after 10+ hours of works. They did nothing. I lost my business because they suspended my account and only listened to a client who lied for refund - without asking my side of story. She complained something I didnt do and pics of something totally irrelevant. Im so furious Ive worked so hard and was destroyed my integrity and my business over false accusations.

  I am a top pro as a photographer in **********. I had a potential lead enter the wrong city for their gig. I requested a credit refund, and thumbtack told me it was my job to message the customer to fix THEIR inquiry in order to receive my credit back.

  I have only used Thumbtack twice. The first time was to do some drywall work & roof work. The drywall work was fine, tho the Pro had many excuses for putting off the days he was coming, but the roofer never showed! They were partners. I paid the drywall guy $1285 in advance because he was the one who employed the roofer. They were partners roofer just kept not showing. I filed a complaint with the *** because he had a blurb on his profile that eleuded to him being a contractor. He was not! The 2nd.and last time using the service.the Pro messaged me and agreed to meet the next day between 1-2 pm. He never showed! I texted him at 2:53 asking if he was still going to make it today. He replied at 3:02 that where I lived was out of their normal work area and that he was sorry. How about a text message or call in the morning saying that you wouldnt be making it? I would been alright with that mistake. Thumbtack says they Vet their Pros, but I dont believe them will NEVER use thus service again!

  I've had a consistently frustrating experience with Thumbtack as a vendor. Despite setting my availability and service preferences, I still receive (and get charged for) leads that are completely irrelevanteither outside my service area, requesting services I don't offer, or even from customers who never respond.Worse, there have been times when I set my lead budget to $0, yet Thumbtack still charged me for leads. On multiple occasions, Ive attempted to contact leads through the provided number, only to find out they were fake. It feels like a scam to vendors who are just trying to run their business.If you're a service provider considering Thumbtack, be very cautious. You might end up paying for useless leads with little to no recourse.

  This is one of the worst plateform. They will charge you for nothing. I registered as a service pro and they charged me $45 and the lead I got was for connecting a HDMI cable to a TV. This was scam and I sent an email to Thumbstack and I got an email from do-not-reply(at)thumstack(dot)com and they mentioned "Unfortunately, the charge for *********** doesn't meet our criteria for a refund" I don't know this person and without getting job I even lost my own money. I think they are doing scam and please keep away from this platefarm.

  Dear BBB,I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the unqualified and fraudulent leads being sent to us by Thumtag. Some of these leads appear to originate from regions like ******, ***** and ******** where individuals seem to be engaging in scams. It has become clear that these leads are not properly vetted, and we are left to deal with the consequences of wasting both time and money on leads that are ultimately fake or part of scams.Thumtag has on occasion, refused to offer a refunds for these unqualified leads, even though Ive raised the issue by explaining the type of scam to them. Thumtag continually sends leads that do not meet these criteria. Even worse, many of these leads are from scammers offering fake jobs or payments, similar to the common scams were all receiving by phone daily.For example, one scam involves a supposed homeowner offering a large sum down payment for a house painting job, then they ask for the contractor to return the difference, only for the contractor to later realize the check is fake and the scammer pockets the difference. These types of fraudulent leads are now being passed on through lead generation platforms, including Thumtag.After I encouraged Thumtag to call and verify these leads themselves, they refused to take responsibility and claimed they couldnt refund ****** seriously considering to find out more about my legal rights to pursue Thumtag and other lead generation platforms involved in similar ************ this point, trust has been severely damaged, and I can no longer justify giving my money to a company that continues to send fake or unqualified leads. Its unacceptable that more than 45% of the leads they provide are either unqualified, not in my category, too expensive for the type of work or, like in this case, entirely fraudulent.I strongly believe that these practices should be legally challenged to protect businesses like mine from being exploited.Sincerely,******* *******

  This is a lie, they give information that is not true. I opened an account for house cleaning with $200. ****** ********** told me that the price of the leads ranged between $53, the highest paid in the month, and they sent me 2 leads the next day that cost $70+ and $80+ each. I called this man and he told me "you're unlucky, leads cost more now." Definitely don't fall for the lies of this company. They charge very high prices and DO NOT GUARANTEE THE WORK.   1 star is more than I would like to give. The lead quality was terrible. I wouldnt have estimated the jobs sent to me if thumbtack paid me for the lead. Complete scam
