    On August 28 of this year, I responded to a Meetup popup ad and ordered some Grove products. Unknown to me, I was setup for "product subscription" and "auto-ship" and another box was sent out on Sep. 28. When I contacted them to mention that I had not ordered this, they did email me a product return label. However, now I have to go through the effort of printing out a label shipping products back that I did not order. I then attempted to remove my credit card from my account but could not do so. I contacted customer service and they told me that I needed to have an open credit card on file in order to have an active account, and sent me a long stream of gobbledegook about how I could "delete my data" as if I had a ****** account or something. As if I want to go through that much trouble to "maintain" an account on what purports to be an online store. Then they warned me that if my account was deleted my sales history would be lost and I wouldn't be able to get a refund for my returned items. I told them to delete my account immediately.The "auto-ship" product subscription without my knowledge or consent, in addition to requiring an active credit card on file smells like "MLM"I'd bet that a lot of their "sales" originate from these sorts of tricks, and they are hoping that the customer won't notice or won't bother returning items. In the future, if I am trying out a new vendor, I will take the extra step to make sure my credit card is not saved on file.

    The reason this company is called Grove is because their practices are SHADY. When you to go order something your cart keeps filling up with things you didn't select. When you try to remove the items, they put more in. That should have been the first red flag, but I really wanted to like them. After ordering a few things I learned that I had unwittingly signed up for a subscription service that had monthly orders and a yearly fee. I didn't even realize it. I am not usually snookered by these types of things. When you contact the company about it they tell you how it's written in their policy, you agreed to the terms. Yeah, OK, sure, it's in the fine print, so maybe what they are doing is not illegal, technically. But it's certainly unethical. Avoid this company, or be very clear on what you are dealing with. I hope they are investigated soon. This kind of Opt Out practice is just another way to trick consumers.

    I ordered last month and put nothing on subscription and got the exact order this month. Now my account is overdrawn. *** sent emails and text messages and it says they respond by 1-2 days. Not Acceptable. Ive canceled everything from them.

    Grove sent me an email with my order ready to process. I clicked to confirm which sent me my cart to purchase but the prices had all gone up exponentially. I screenshot lt and sent it to customer service assuming it was an error. I was informed that unless I had a portal to a promotion the prices they sent me would reset when I clicked on it? I asked for a link or something they said I had to find it? Bottom line they use deceptive pricing to get you to click checkout and then switch the price last minute. Consumer beware. They have access to your bank and they are deceptive.

    I, as in the reviews below, really wanted to support this business but have had issue after issue. Initially they were resolved by customer service (damaged products arriving in poorly packed boxes etc.).They began pre-loading items in my cart. If I ordered an item once, Grove would pre-load it again for the next month. After several complaints Grove explained it was my responsibility to de-select these items. If I didn't, and there were enough items in the cart to meet the minimum requirement, Grove would ship order without any interaction on my part. This is predatory - period. Over time this was only an issue a couple of times due to not meeting the minimum requirement OR I was actually on the website and purposefully placed items into the cart that I intended to purchase and would then see items in my cart that had been preloaded by Grove that I had to now remove. Last month - via chat - I complained about this as I had received another shipment that I did not want nor did I order. I was told that they would now turn this feature off. Why wasn't it turned off the other times? Believing the issue to be resolved I was shocked to receive another order last week that I did NOT order. Today I got back on-line via chat with Grove and spent over 30 minutes going over this. I was assured they would now turn this feature off. IT WAS ALREADY SUPPOSED TO BE TURNED OFF! She stated she didn't know why it hadn't been turned off but would issue a refund if I could return the items. I said absolutely - let's do that and asked her to please send a box as the box the shipment had arrived in has already gone with the trash. I was told that was not a possibility but that I could go to *** (20 min) drive away and buy one. So Grove is asking me to spend 30 min of my time resolving THEIR problem and then another 40 minutes round trip to return what I never ordered. This is a predatory practice. Not OK. Send me the *********** and have *** pick & close my acct.

    This company is a total rip off, they claim to be climate friendly. Be prepared to be ready to pay out the.... Starting each glass bottle you buy is 15. 00 each The cleaning chemicals are s joke. Save n go on vacation and go yo dollar tree or dollar general with the money you will save

    This company is horrible! Is it a total SCAM that uses green-washing and *************************** to appear trustworthy.First Red Flag--They put items in your cart I found some products that I wanted to buy on their site and added them to my cart. The first red flag should have been that my cart already had 10 items in it that I NEVER added...ok? So I look at my cart and notice the items are free, maybe they're promoting products and these are samples, that seemed fine, but then I get towards the bottom of the list and there are products they added to my cart that aren't free. Also, don't add stuff to my cart, period! I'm the customer and my cart should be 100% under my control.Second Red Flag--They sign you up for a subscription service without your knowledge or consent On a normal site you put products in your cart, checkout, and the company keeps you informed about when you can expect to receive your items. With Grove Co. you put items in your cart, delete items they added into your cart without your consent, then you checkout like normal and that's it. I wanted to know when I should expect my items, so I poked around on my account. That's when I noticed I was a member, huh? Just by virtue of purchasing products, you get signed up for a trial membership and then will get charged a yearly subscription fee! They are super sneaky about this. BEWARE!!!Third Red Flag--Trouble canceling the membership I tried three times to cancel my membership so I wouldn't get charged. Every time I went through the user flow, I would get a green banner that said my membership was canceled. Then when I navigated back to double check, my account showed that my membership was Active. That's super SKETCHY! I had to email customer service for it to actually get cancelled.Will I get the items I purchased? /_(?)_/ They don't communicate any sort of timeline.This company is PREDATORY as sh*t. I seriously hope that a class action lawsuit moves forward. How they operate can't be lawful.

    Grove Collaborative is not a company who is transparent to their customers. I have used them for almost 2 years and even signed up for a VIP membership. I wanted to support a small business with their eco-mission. However, I do not like to get spam. I set up my account to only receive direct notifications about account. I reinstated my VIP membership in February, received 2 orders... then suddenly while preparing my June order I notice they are charging an extra "supply chain fee" to ALL orders regardless of VIP status. Apparently they sent this notice out to all customers in January, but it was not deemed as a notice "regarding my account" to pass thru the filter.First of all, i understand that with the pandemic that everything is getting expensive. But why are you charging people for a membership with the benefit of free shipping when you're tagging on a "supply chain fee" that pertains specifically to shipping?Second, I was NEVER notified of this even though it directly pertains to my account. I signed up for VIP again unknowingly.When I asked Grove to cancel my VIP they refused to reimburse my VIP membership because I was past the 7day window of cancelling.They gave me a $20 credit on my account which I can apply to another order, which is ridiculous because now I have to spend over $50(?) to get "free" shipping now, AND still pay the ridiculous supply chain fee.It's a shame because I loved Grove's mission and the products I can't access elsewhere, but the company is NOT transparent in notifying customers or being understanding of their own shortcomings and accounting for it.
