Airbnb allowed a host to cancel our reservation after learning we were bringing an infant. Instead of holding the host accountable, they sided with themdespite clear anti-discrimination rules and federal Fair Housing protections for families with children. After we booked, the host retroactively added misleading language claiming the home wasnt suitable for children (not having outlet covers we visit the babies grandparents and they dont have outlet covers! Our baby isnt even mobile yet!!)purely to justify the cancellation. Airbnb support acknowledged the reason was infant not allowed but still did nothing. No compensation. No accountability. Deeply unethical and unacceptable. The airbnb is listed as Cozy Cottage! Champagne on a Beer Budget! Steps2Sand. The host allows pets but would not allow an infant.

They charge high fees but they do nothing to stand up for the customers when theres an issue. I was not able to connect with the USA based representative and only had bad experience with **** who barely spoke English. The issue with the host was not resolved and my Review regarding bad experience was removed !!!

"You will not be charged until your host approves your stay." Yet Airbnb and ****** immediately charged my account before the host approved my stay. Minutes later the host contacted me stating the rental was not available for the 3 days it stated it was available, so she would not approve the request. So, not only did Airbnb falsely list this properties availability, ****** immediately charged my account, but then wants to tell me it will take up to 7 business days to issue a refund...EVEN THOUGH THEY TOOK MONEY THEY CLEARLY STATED THEY WOULD NOT BE TAKEN!

I stayed at an Airbnb in ********** (Confirmation Code: HMBMZKDKPX) that was entirely misrepresented. It was filthy, smelled of urine and feces, had stained linens, visible bug infestation, and was in a loud, unsafe area. I have ******************, and this posed a health risk. I submitted clear photos and was told Id be reimbursed and relocated, only to later receive a 10% credit and no relocation helpdespite Airbnb having all of my money and knowing I had no backup funds. I have used Airbnb daily since January and have 5-star reviews. I request a full refund, relocation compensation, and cleaning reimbursement. This is a breach of their Guest Refund Policy and a failure in customer care

5-1-2025. About their algorithms evaluating your human risk. Today I tried Airbnb for the first time to rent a 2 bedroom cabin rental for my relatives, on by birthday ****** weekend, that is 1/2 mile down the road from me. Perfect. I know the owners but they are busy with their greenhouse business so decided to use Airbnb. In short order Airbnb after submitting my cc info, return a rejection of my rental. Review of their info indicated risk of unauthorized party! I am a professional, 73 years old, 825 credit score, member of this community and live on the same road. Maybe that is the problem. I called Airbnb and talked to a human. Explained their algorithm is wrong. Referred my case to their specialized team for review. They would respond within hours. They did. Twice by email. They stood by their initial decision, twice. End of story. Wanted to help me find lodging else where. To be honest I was outraged. So I think maybe that was my first and last interaction with Airbnb. Just FYI about their algorithms. ******************

After a horrible stay, I reached out to Airbnb. I provided proof, I cited their own policy about their listings and how the Hosts should disclose being on the property and they denied refunding my stay saying the host denied the refund and they could not help me anymore. $600, a lot of traveling expenses, a bold face lie by a host, terms and conditions that say hosts should disclose themselves being on the property later- I see why they are being sued by many wronged consumers. Allowing this business to still run the way it does is not okay. I do not recommend using Airbnb anymore. Ive used them for years but after seeing how they treat customers and what customers have to go through to be heard, its no longer worth the brand loyalty.

Airbnb is no longer a sustainable business model for honest hosts. We are experienced property managers whove worked hard to maintain high-quality listings, clean homes, and clear communication. Yet, Airbnb has shown again and again that it will side with guestseven when claims are exaggerated, untrue, or made in retaliation.Guests are learning how powerful a bad review can be. Many now use that power to demand refunds or concessions. Airbnb classifies almost anything as guest experience, even if the guest never contacts the host, and even if the issue was fixable during the stay.Weve had well-maintained homes, transparent listings, and still been left vulnerable by a system that does not protect its hosts. Weve reached the point where Airbnb is creating debt, not income, for hosts and managers. The stress of supporting a property full-time, handling turnovers, guest services, city compliance, and platform limitationsonly to be discarded when a guest exaggerates or retaliatesis simply not worth it.We are transitioning our listings to long-term rental only. We no longer recommend Airbnb to other owners or managers. If you are a host, understand that this platform will not support you when it matters most.

Overall great experience! I really love this appsuper easy to use and everythings clear. The place matched the photos, was clean, and check-in was smooth. The only downside was the price changing a few times during booking, which was a bit confusing. Still, I had a great stay!
