I was scammed by them as they were posing as a debt relief company. Information was sent to them from my employer, because I unknowingly thought that they were a legitimate debt relief company. I was told that if I sent a payment of $145.83 for six months, I only paid them for 5 month's. I that my debt would be forgiven. I would like to just resolve it by just getting my money back if it is at all possible.

SLFD told me they would help negotiate my student loan repayments so that they would be low and would also help get into programs that would help pay a portion of my loans for a fee. This never happened.

It's not so much as a complaint as it is to inform others of the problems and how to get their money back. Please bbb bureau post this so others can get their money back. All those wondering how to get your money back from the supposed scam company is you need to contact your bank that you paid them with. Tell them the truth of what is going on with the business and that you're disputing the money that you have sent to them because under federal law you have a right to goods or services for what you paid. Since this place has now been shut down and will continue to be shut down services were not rendered for the money you paid you have a right to dispute the charges and have a reverse payment made from this company. Call your bank right away. Before the government seizes this business's assets and you lose what you paid them and then still have to pay the government for your student loans. Sincerely a friend of the people and a man of the law. Per Federal commerce law(those who wish to know more on the law).

As of this September 2023, I will have been in the loan forgiveness program for two years. When I entered the program two years ago, it was explained to me that my federal student loans would be forgiven with six months of $200 payments. I saw the posting of my payments made to SLFD but not on my Federal Loans website. They told me it would be transfered over to SLFD. After six month sof paying $200, I got confirmation that I was entered into the program for forgiveness. I was told I would have to recertify for the program yearly to keep my payments of zero dollars for the loans to be forgiven. As of October, 2022, I had fifty six "payments" remaining. When I called SLFD this afternoon, a recording saying they had been sued automatically played. I am scared out of my mind and don't know what to do.

I was under the impression - after being contacted by SLFD Processing - that they were a student loan repayment company. I had spoken at length with the office on numerous occasions since Feb 2023, and they would regularly explain the "loan forgiveness program" I was applying for as a public service professional/government employee. They explained that I would pay $75-150 payments over a 6 month period and the government would place me in a income-driven repayment program.Specific staff I spoke to were named "******", ******* and "*******", who specifically told me to save her number *************). There was never a site where I could check up on my status - they were always meant to call or email me about status updates regarding how soon I could enter the loan-forgiveness program. I even sent over scanned documentation my employer had to sign to verify my place of work. It is incredibly frustrating to know that they stole sensitive information of mine, and I have a hunch its linked to recent fraud on my bank account.Charges Details:On 2/2/23 I paid $291.66 On 3/2/23 I paid $145.83 On 4/14/23 I paid $72.91 no payments in May 2023 On 6/1/23 I paid $218 (to makeup for no payments in May)Thankfully, no payments were made in July or August. The decision of my program acceptance was to be made in Sept., but when I received no email regarding the decision, I assumed my lack of acceptance was due to my lack of payment in May, July and August. I called the number I'd been calling today (9/6) and the call went to voicemail, saying the company was fraudulent and under investigation.I have verified that my bank is able to submit a fraud claim for at least two of the payments, but nothing past a 6-month time span. This is incredibly frustrating to say the least, and I hope everyone who has lost money is able to receive it back!
