      I hired Optima Tax Relief in 10.7/2020 to help me with Federal and State tax problems from a previous company I owned, as of 8/30/2023 they have done nothing for me, every time I call and try to get info on my case, I get absolutely nothing, mostly bad attitude. They always tell me a tax professional will call me back, it's always the same run around and double talk, they never give me a straight answer. They haven't done anything with the *** issue, I doubt they have done anything with the state either. They refuse to give me anything that shows what they have done for the money I paid. I constantly ask to speak to anyone that is working on my case, the only person that responds tells me a tax professional is on it. They do not respond to my emails or phone calls anymore.

      I contacted Optima Tax Relief to help with a tax issue. I had previously filed an amendment in 2020 which the *** had not processed and still wanted to collect. Optima charged me $5,185 for resolution which involved what they claimed was significantly lowering the amount owed and further CPA amendments. After paying the $5,185, they had me refile the amendment already filed by a previous CPA and did not amend any other years. The 1040X filed BY ME had a local CPA's name on it, meaning THEY DID NOT UTILIZE CPA SERVICES. My amendment still was not processed, my taxes were not lowered, the *** put me on a payment plan. Optima wants to act like they did something great by getting me on a payment plan. For $5,185 I was expecting more than that and quite frankly I could have set up my own payment plan. I was promised MULTIPLE times my amendment would be processed. There are phone recordings of employees for Optima stating this. At this point, I would like Optima to involve their tax attorneys to force my amendment through since the *** is claiming it needed to be filed prior to 2021 and I have evidence it was filed in 2020 or I would like a full refund of what I paid.

      I have been having a hard time getting people to call me back. They say that someone will call in 24 to 48 hours and they do not. I have tried to get a hold of someone at the corporate and have failed. I cannot find any emails that will get me in touch with anyone at corporate. Because this is deal with taxes it is a time sensitive matter and my issues need to be address at a high level.

      2 request were made for a call back it has been two weeks and no call. I would like a call from someone that has decision power over the company.  I do not want to close the case until I get that call and get a understanding on how my case with Optima will be handled.I do not think this is to much to ask for since it has been going on for 2 years.

      I hired Optima tax to help me get relief from the *** I informed them I had an appointment with the revenue officer in a few days, they instructed me to talk with them and they would communicate with the officer and take care of everything. Once I missed the appointment with the revenue officer he once again resented the levies and garnishments. I called my representative with Optima and he told me he would get with the officer and work something out. He then called me and requested a few documents, of which I sent them within a few weeks. I again called and asked why all the levies and garnishments were still in force. I was told they were working with the revenue officer to come to a conclusion. Two months later The officer sent out more levies, garnishments and seizures, so I called him directly. He informed me that Optima tax had only talked to him on the phone twice. The first time he had told them I needed to keep the setup phone call, of which they had told me not to conduct that they were taking care of it. The second was after I missed the phone call and he informed them he needed some information from me to move forward, that was the information they requested from me that I mentioned earlier. He also informed me that since he had received none of the information that I had sent optima months earlier that he moved forward with collections. Optima had sent him none of the information I had sent them, not one paper. He told me as soon as he received the forms he would release the levies and garnishments. I personally sent him the files I had sent Optima Tax and he is setting up an arrangement as we speak. I paid over $2000 to Optima and they want $9000 more and I feel they did nothing for me.. If there is anything you can help me with or give me a course of action it would be appreciated. Thank You *****************.

      In August of 2022 I received a letter from the *** including a tax bill for approx. $18,000 for additional ********** for my 2020 tax year. I had a copy of the return on which a memo line indicated that a rollover had occurred. These moneys were retirement funds transferred to an annuity. Having heard of Optima's "highest rating with the BBB" I called them. I was so confident that I didn't balk at the price. After paying $2772 on August 26,2022 things deteriorated quickly. I repeatedly told individuals that I couldn't get the portal to work. One gentleman did help to a minor extent telling me that there was little information to ********** should't expect notes, timelines, or any info to help me follow the progress etc. Apparently it's only function is to facilitate the uploading of *** correspondence sent to me (I seldom got that to work). I was left with one option, spend hours on hold listing to a tune that got old and when I spoke to someone they typically said they had no information and the individual who could help would call back in 24 to 48 hours. Since my work lets me answer phone calls on a limited basis I often went back & forth several times limited further by my east coast and there west coast hours. Recently I got an information request from the *** asking for proof of the rollover that I had provided to Optima. I tried to use the portal to provide the letter to OTR but it said "wrong format. I called Optima, I asked for a return call from ****** as she was unavailable. I was not in a position to take the call and was left a voicemail stating that we would speak later. Then instead of sticking to that plan someone representing Optima phoned my wife and told her that the final numbers were now ********* due to the *** . The no call backs and unavailability has been going on for months.I can't imagine that I am the only one with a bad experience with this organization. I've heard that top rating at the BBB could be purchased. I hope that to be misinformation.

      In April 2022, I entered into a contract with Optima Tax Relief. They requested me to send all my tax documentation for 2020-2021 and 2022 taxes, and I forwarded all the information to them through a portal. They instructed me not to communicate with the *** and to forward any letters I received from them. When it got closer to filing my 2022 taxes to ensure compliance. This was our agreement, and they just gave me the runaround. They never got me compliant with the ***, never. So I asked for my money back because did keep there word. However, a woman from their team informed me that I needed to speak to someone on the board and set up an appointment the next day. When they called twice, they hung up before I answered, the phone rang once. I called right back she said they were in a meeting yes I said it was supposed to be with me. Again the runaround. Later, they even sent an email stating that I requested a PIN change, which I didn't. After paying $6000 for their service, they offered me only $695, which I declined. They then sent me a email to contact their legal ***** So I sent a letter seeking arbitration to the email provided, it came back as not a valid email. So i am seeking a full refund, and I wonder if there could be an investigation for their negligence. They did not do what they promised to then they cut me off. They did nothing for me, and I had to do my taxes myself. They removed all information from my portal and they still have it I'm sure. It has been recommended I seek arbitration. So when I sent the email to the address provided it came back as an invalid email. I have been gosted by a company I believe is a complete fraud. You are the BBB and your name is on their website which leads people to believe that they are a trusted company. You should really look into this. Again I am Seeking a full refund and an investigation into Optima Tax Relief for their negligence, ethics, and legitimacy. Why are they not under investigation? Shut it down! SCAM!

      They have extremely rude customer service. They dont stand by their word. I have had three appointments for them to call me. They either dont call, call a different day, or call outside of the timeframe given for the appointment. I spent and still spending too much money to not get common decency and respect. I spoke to a supervisor they scheduled a call back. The person called on the wrong day. Plus, I filled out all of there forms and they said that I did not when they have all my paperwork. And agreed they received it.

      I hired optima to settle my tax debts and lower my amounts on 4/15/2021. They filed 3 years of taxes for me, sent several power of attorneys, and incorrectly submitted a payment arrangement with IRS. I had to settle a deal on payments with IRS myself. I hired another CPA to ammend the taxes submitted by Optima, his words "complete neglegence" on the filing done by optima. I have paid Optima $10,685.00 no legitimate services have been given in return. Multiple complaints have been filed by myself to optima. I spoke with IRS and *******************, no contact has been made by optima to either entities. No amount due has been adjusted/alterred. The longevity of this "resolution" leaves me in a rough situation. I have to sell my home and relocate for work, the balance must be paid IRS. I called Optima for some professional guidance, ***** offered me a ~$1,000 refund and said we would be parting ways. A mere 9% refund of a close to non service provided. I have requested an itemized list of services provided, so far they have not been recieved.

      Optima tax relief representative ensured me they could help me with my tax problem. I had already been on an installment program with the *** before joining the program at $150.00 per month. After spending $700.00 with Optima tax relief all they could offer me was a program at $125.00 per month. I told them this is unsatisfactory and I want me money back. They would not give me a refund.

      Spoke to Optima tax relief on August 21,2023 at 106pm and their response was still the same to only refund me $50.00 out of the $700.00 that I already paid to them for insufficient service. This is bad business practices...They take people money and don't provide a service that is not satisfactory and keep people's money. I am going to launch a class action lawsuit against this corporation with other people listed on tax scam on ********* This is definitely not the end to this situation. Media will be contacted also.

      Optima tax relief is not refunding my money for services not rendered. I paid them over $650.00 for services and they only want to refund me $50.00 of my hard-earned money for no services I do not call this a generous offer. I do not accept their offer now or anytime in the future unless it is a full refund. I have posted on media their fraudulent business practices and probably with the followers that have been scammed out of their money by this business a class action lawsuit will follow in the future. I refuse to withdraw this complaint so many others that have been scammed by optima tax relief will file similar complaints.

      I ******************************* contacted optima tax relief on june 22nd to ask for all my tax documents back and *************************** said she would send my documents thru email and my original documents i sent through mail to optima tax relief i still have not recieved them in the mail its going on 3 months i need them all back!
