      initial communication started 4/2022. Resolution 12/2022. ********************* was my agent for the introduction.After accumulating some *** debt over the years I needed to take care of it quickly and was told by Optima that I was a good candidate for a reduction of this debt of the interest and penalties accrued. I hired Optima and signed the paperwork 3 months ago.I was pushed from department to department and after the promise of a settlement, I was told the only resolution is monthly payments. I sent them a ton of personal information and signed a POA for financials. After paying them quite a sum of money, I was told that my case is closed and I am responsible for making payments to the **** Now the 843 form, requesting a removal of penalties that I filled out was not even sent by Optima. I had to Fax myself. And now any communications with the *** I have to do myself since my case is "closed". What did they do?? I could have done all of this myself! This is a scam. People are being deceived that Optima can do more than they actually are capable of. I would request a full refund, upwards of $7,000 to resolve my debt with the *** once and for all. After requesting help directly from them, they have gone silent once again.

      This is ongoing.  Optima has offered me a very small refund.  Consequently I called the *** myself and they confirmed that Optima only called them 3 times in November.  They were supposed to make another call and did not but the *** was told that they were having "system issues."  

      Then *** told me Optima did "nothing".  Not even a signed agreement.  They only determined an amount that I should pay monthly and then never called them back.  Absolutely "no actions " were taken as a result of Optima.  

      I have now done my own paperwork without the Optima "tax professionals advice because they left it unfinished.  

      I can confirm that they were having systems issues in November of 22, I had a hard time getting answers at that time.  The *** agent actually felt bad for me.  

      Only now after 3 payments with the signed agreement will they negotiate with me.  I am still out $7,000, approx 1/4 of the amount I owe.  It is now much more of a problem, I created more debt for myself.  Shame on these people.  Seriously, "system issues"??  Unreal.

      I was taken advantage of. I was scared of the **** I didn't know what to do so after hearing Optima tax relief adds I called seeking assistance. I was explained paying $4000 they would help me. Well I didn't know what I needed to do with the *** before paying that money. Come to find out all I needed was 2 years of returns to be filed. That was it and all Optima needed to do for me. To be charged so much money before Optima even knew my situation with the *** I feel is wrong to do to a customer that is reaching out for help.

      Optima's services were being rendered in full as outlined in our service agreement.  Despite diligently working on the client’s case, with no error or wrongdoing on Optima's part. Although it is not typical for us to offer refunds outside the cancellation period, a generous courtesy refund was offered. We regret to report that we were unable to reach a mutual agreement as the client declined our offer.

      April, 2021 - I was having a huge issue with the **** with dire consequences if I didn't file my taxes. I didn't have enough to pay all my taxes, so I contacted OPTIMA TAX and explained my situation. They asked for $495 up front, which I scraped together and paid.I heard nothing at all from them, so I contacted *****************, which immediately responded and helped me and continues to help resolve my tax issues.I finally got a call from Optima Tax a few days (not weeks, but days) before taxes were due. I told them I hadn't heard from them and had another company taking care of this.The ONLY RESPONSE from OPTIMA was a voice mail saying that I didn't seem to want their help.OPTIMA TAX NEVER DID ANYTHING AND NEVER RETURNED MY $495 and that's what this complaint is about.The reason why the delay is I was (and still am) frantic to get settled with the *** that Optima Tax was the last thing on my mind. And I also thought, as a good and ethical business practice, they would return my money because they did nothing - except take my money.If there's anything you can do to recoup this money, I would truly appreciate it. I'm 72 yrs. old, collecting social security and a small pension ($368/mth.). In addition, I've become an insurance agent for Aflac, which is a **** position and I'm really struggling - haven't paid my Jan. rent yet and my medical coverage stopped 10/31 due to non-payment.I sincerely thank you - ****************

      Company did no work on my *** case. They failed to attend a scheduled phone appointment after receiving my documents. I got no follow-up from the company after my spouse and I paid the $295 fee. Apparently our assigned reviewer quit and that is where the ball was dropped.Consequently, I ended up with notice of intent to levy, and lien from the **** I was unsuccessful in getting anyone at Optima Tax Relief to help us, so I ended up having to take a day off from work to settle the issue with the *** on my own.I have had horrible follow-up from Optima Tax Relief, and I have called half a dozen times to complain, and my case has allegedly been "escalated", but that hasn't yielded any results.Considering they did no work on our tax issue, and I ended up having to resolve it myself with the internal revenue service, (or else have my bank account levied, my wages garnished and a lien on my property!), I am requesting a full refund of the $295 fee.

      My spouse and I started a case with Optima Tax Relief to resolve an issue with outstanding tax debt with the **** We paid the initial fee of $295.00 on 10/18/22, and we downloaded all required documents. We received one call from a tax specialist and this person stated we would have a phone conference on 11/1/22. the phone conference never happened. I made attempts by phone and email (I have records of this), reaching out to the person assigned to help us, and she never returned our calls.We did not hear from anyone again 1/5/23. This was after I called to complain because I had been contacted by the *** with a notice of intent to levy and to place a lien on my property, and because I was never able to contact anyone from the company, I ended up resolving the issue myself with the ****In defense of the company, upon review of my phone records and emails, I did find on voicemail on 12/2/22, and also one email on the same date. There was no other follow-up or attempt by the company to call me, nor was there ever any assistance offered by the company regarding our case. I did check the client portal periodically and there was no update or message center notification on the portal.I received NOTHING that I paid for, AND to top it off, I had to lose a day from work to resolve my issue.

      I started an account with Optima Tax Relief in 2019, in good faith that they can resolve my tax issue with the **** I got in touch with them after hearing their advertisement on the radio numerous times. I made some payments to them that totaled $4,500 to $4,600. The thing that is puzzling to me is that I came to them and already had my back taxes prepared and finalized already by a tax agent. So I was thinking they just had to look over my documents and present my case to the *** and come to some resolution. It has been about 3 years and nothing has been done to my understanding. I just want all this to be over with. If they can't help like they advertised then its only fair to refund my money and I go else where. Because I have missed out on any stimulus moneys and that could have really helped me. Or any tax relief do to your yearly income and or drop any funds owed with the fresh start initiative. I've started going back to college last fall but still have this *** issue hanging over my head. I'm so frustrated with this company. I never know anything unless I call them and unaware of any emails sent till I call to check the status. Me having to be still dealing with this going on three years is very ridiculous. Optima tax stopped excepting documents in 2019 and now I have 2020 and 2021 taxes that needs to be added to whatever they have going on with that my account. With this experience I will surely not advise or recommend anyone to this company. From what I'm assuming that it's a scam. Because now a few years have passed and nothing has been done at all in my favor. They are supposedly be tax professionals, But I'm still getting *** letters!

      This company is the WORST rip off artist ever. I only contacted them due to Covid issues in the ** and the *** not answering the phone. I had truly made a mistake on my taxes, had never had any issues in 35 years. I called Optima and the very first contact you have is great. They make you feel like they really want /can help you. I owe more now and will continue to owe more even after paying $333 a month due to all the interest. This company is a total sham. I had so many different people over a year period and the last person I had gave me about 30 seconds to decide if I agreed with their proposal and that they had "the *** on the other line". I of course agreed because they told me that the *** would be more interested in giving me a break and actually helping me. After I paid them almost $3000 for their service, they got me $895 dollars total off my case for one year of penalties. After they deducted that, they added the interest back and I was worse off than when I called. You have no way to contact the people you last spoke to, they will only take a message. There are also no emails for a paper trail. I will be paying off this issue till I die most likely. I even called the *** and explained but they told me that I had already had a deal and that Optima had completed my case. That's it, now I owe $26K and have no outlet. I can't give them any stars, PLEASE **** use them, save your money. I am very unhappy and hope that by reading this no one else will fall for this. They are NOT legit. The least they can do is refund my hard-earned money so that I can pay the *** directly and feel like I am really making a dent in what I owe since they made my situation only worse.

      I'll do my best explaining my concern with Optum Tax relief services.November 2021- I signed up with Optum Tax to get assistance/resolution with the past due taxes I owed to the **** Completed everything they requested of me however, when I would call for updates I was always given the run around, meaning I was told someone would give me a call back. May 2022 I followed up with a call, spoke with yet another rep who advised me that they needed copies of my most recent bank statements as well as check stubs. I provided them with the requested information. I'm Sorry by this time I've paid them/Optum in full over 5-thousand dollars. Because I want a step by step up date on my case one of the Managers told me that they do not send out any updates on cases. I found this to be very Odd, so I call the **** They explained to me that the only information they received from Optum was a signed arbitration to back in January 2022, nothing requesting resolution or a pay off. I requested a full refund from Optum and was told that they would only refund me $244.00 do to the work they put in. However they did nothing, I was able to work out a pay off myself with the *** and I would like Optum to give me a full refund of the money that was paid to them and they did nothing but get upset with I ask for updates. I pray no one ever goes through what I went through with them. And I'm sure this is not their first complaint. Please help me with getting some if not all of my money back as they had not provided me with the services I requested. Thank you in advance. ************************* ******

      Optum Tax has continute to call me threatening intimidating words that they will only refund me now $200.00.  The rep continues to say that I'll be give $200.00 and only $200.00 now.  And because I've not taken my concern/complaint down.  That I will not get anything.  Please help me with any steps to take this concern further.

      To reiterate, Optima ************** had already been in discussions with the client last year and the client agreed to return to servicing on 11/18/22. After an agreement has been reached, Optima Tax had been working diligently to keep consistent communication with the client by sending follow up emails reminding the client to submit the documents needed to move forward with the clients file.

      It was explained to the Client that these documents are needed in order to move forward with their case. However, the client did not submit any of the pending documents.

      On 1/26, in good faith effort to reach a mutual agreement, Optima ************** reached out to the client to address  their concerns. Although it is not typical for us to offer refunds outside the cancellation period, a generous courtesy refund was offered. Unfortunately, the client declined our offer.

      Optima Tax regrets that we were unable to reach a mutually agreeable resolution in this matter.  Our courtesy offer will remain on the table should the client wish to accept.

      This is not accurate, as they continue to call and tell me that will not refund me. The amount they are asking me to accepted is $218.00, The total amount paid to them was over 5-thousand.  ************ did nothing per the IRS.  I need to know if there are any other steps  I can take with this company.
