      True car is using illegal tactics and price gauging to collect customer's private information and disclose it to the dealer without the consumer's consent.True car committed fraud for collecting this customer's personal information and sold them to different dealerships including Trinity ******** for a fee. Consumers are prohibited to get pricing information on a vehicle unless there is complete disclosure of customer private information. ********************** is also involved in price gauging and giving bad advertising. They disclose lower prices online and inflate it excessively when the consumer contacted the dealer. I'd like to request a formal investigation against True.car.com for violation of privacy. I thought that's wrong and completely unacceptable. This is bad business, and this should be investigated

Per our Terms of Service, when prospecting on a vehicle, this does permit the dealership to connect with you via phone, email, or SMS. We recently connected you with one dealer and requested they cease contact with you. We have also blacklisted the phone number and email address that was on your profile.       I decided to use TrueCar when I learned about it through the partnership they have with ***'s *************** Due to the long standing relationship I have had using ***'s, I naturally trusted that if they approved of TrueCar than I would be ok with using them. The service was basically an extended service should a car have issues after purchase that they would reimburse 20% of any repairs and a couple of other small perks of using their service, free calls to a mechanic, etc. At no time I was told once purchased I needed to call and register during their sales pitch. In any case, a month after I purchased a $35K Mini ****** it needed service that resulted in over $2k of repairs. My husband called and then we were told we had to register to obtain this. In any case, we missed this benefit and my husband signed up as instructed. Additionally I stated they should clearly express this during the process as due to the relationship with their dealers, it was assumed it was established immediately. Most recently, another issue came up with the care resulting in $800 in repairs. We submitted the claim and they stated that the title had to be registered under the person listed on the TrueCar agreement. The car was purchased in cash and done under my husband's name. As a married couple, I never would have thought this would be an issue and yet we have lost our money again. They made no effort to attempt to assist in any way and again just apologized as they did before. It isn't much money, as I've seen far worse reviews on this site, but it is the principle. Their word means nothing and they don't care to help their customers whatsoever. Ultimately, I just wanted others to be forewarned when doing business with them as I wish I would have know ahead of time.

      I bought a car (3/15/23) I'd found through TrueCar.com. The selection was awesome, and I was able to find the exact car I wanted. They linked me seamlessly to the dealership which had the car. I could not have asked for a better experience -- and the car I bought was ***** miles away from me so one might have expected some snags along the way. If buying another car, I would not hesitate to go through TrueCar.com. I am truly thankful to TrueCar.

      True car is very helpful to the general public . Consumers ( at least ) need to know what folks are paying for a new specific model car .Just remind the dealer when you get your out the door prize from True car that they will honor it. Then have them send you a personal e mail to you, saying they will sell the car at the agreed price . Most dealers will honor the True prize, but I personally like something in writing from the dealer, so I can call them out as a poor dealership .

      I would not have found my vehicle if not for TrueCar, I was looking for a very specific vehicle, very specific price with very specific miles, TrueCar made this search easy and the vehicle ended up being 2 1/2 hours away, but in the same city that my son lives in!       I've used this website several times to purchase my vehicles and they always show a good amount of cars I'm searching for as well as a true price calculator so I know how much I'm paying whether I'm paying too much or a good price match. Definitely my go-to when searching for a new vehicle.
