I enjoyed this service, it was pretty straight forward - pay the monthly fee & receive bottles of wine shipped right to your door. Wines were decent enough, certainly nothing prolific but the real value was in the convenience.UNTIL it came time to cancel. The service went unused for months, and as I wanted to make the healthier decision to drink less, they now have refused to cancel my subscription and refund $1,000 of unused credit. Go cork yourself. It was fun until now, and by their own doing they have turned a strong advocate against themselves. Excited to bring my substantial business to another outlet. Cheers!

This business preys on people with their gift cards and promotions. I was given a gift card as a birthday present. In order to use the card, I had to open an account. There was a monthly charge and there is no way to use it without doing so. I contacted support asking how to use the card without creating an account. They said to open the account and they would close it so I wouldn't be charged. That didn't happen and it took a while to notice the charges on my card. They might decide to refund one month, but count on the rest of your money gone or locked behind giving these people more money. Very shady business practices and none of the wine we tried was very good.

My husband somehow got hooked up in this. He thought he was getting some wine, but had no idea that it was a reoccurring monthly charge. We received the case which wasnt great wine and he said he just wouldnt order again. Three years later, he noticed a charge of *****. We found out what it was and called. They have been charging us for 3 years, with no contact ( they put his email down incorrectly). They said they dont call or send letters, just email. Well if you send a couple of emails to a wrong acct, you get a mailer daemon. Did they try to call to get the correct info? No, they just kept charging us. *****+ in credits for crappy wine? I dont think so! We are going to fight all charges. This company should not be allowed to run operations like that.

I had the misfortune of engaging in this wine-based scam. The short version of the review is that you should run away from their deal as fast as possible. Details below.I tried it for 2-3 shipments but could the wine to be average to below average quality? Pricing is not ****** compelling either. Some convenience benefits but not worthy of surrendering choice. Believe it or not, that's the good news.Online research indicates that they just relabel wine overages from other vintners and wrap the product in convenience of delivery. I can't swear to that as I don't have time to research it, but it feels right when combining the quality aspect from above. The bad news is that the subscription model. I tried it for about 3 months and canceled. Standard "You have to take one more shipment". Didn't like but not the end of the world. Then they filed for bankruptcy ( I wonder why?) and I thought others agreed with me. The market works on bad ideas with poor products. Then just this month I noticed a change from them for $59. What? I emailed them and they said, "Oh no you checked a box that agreed to this long ago". Then they went on to say that I have $1,000 of back credits!!! (like I said, run away. Don't walk.) Furthermore, to use those credits I have to reactivate my account...and the monthly $59 charge. I cannot drink my way through that much wine in my life, as each month I have to take more wine! What a scam!! It feels like a college loan with high interest.I'll create a brief website on this that will rise to the top via SEO to warn others. And my attorney will be talking with them. Please like this review to keep it at the top of the list for others to see. It's the least you can do...I just saved you $1,000 and a lot of mediocre wine. :-)

Winc's business practices have to be illegal. Not only do they make it almost impossible to log into your account to cancel the subscription, but their cancellation practices are insane. Last month, I spent a few hours trying to log back into my account to cancel the subscription and use my remaining credits. I ended up having to text back and forth with a service rep who had to physically change my password for me and provide it to me. When I went to cancel the subscription, I was prompted to email customer service. I emailed with an explicit request to cancel my membership. Apparently you are supposed to send them ANOTHER confirmation email within 48 hours or they will automatically "close the ticket." When I saw the email that evening I immediately told them not to close the ticket and once again to cancel the account. They did not. Instead their email told me to change the billing frequency. Lo and behold, when I logged onto the website, I was unable to do so. I will be charged once again tomorrow despite asking 3 separate times to cancel the account. I will be researching how to report these shady and deceptive behaviors to the ****

I dont know what happened to this company, but what happened this last month is unacceptable. First we have been members since 2017 and have had no issues up until now. I placed an order then see that instead of the 3rd its now the 14th, and never received an email ( inbox nor in junk) re the change of date. In speaking with customer service they said that they would push the order and the next one will be Nov in which I agreed to keep the 14th. Then on Oct 20th an email was received saying that an order was placed. An order was never placed and they placed it with PayPal and I never authorized this order. Nor do I ever pay with PayPal. So this is not only fraudulent to place an order that is unauthorized but illegal. Trying for several days to reach customer service and finally got someone who said that a refund would be applied and the error was due to a system migration. I dont care about your system migration. I care that you charged me for an unauthorized order and charged PayPal that is never used. Where do you think its ok to charge for an unauthorized order? Im still waiting on a reply to my several emails from 10/21. This is not good business practice. So, I guess it makes sense they filed for bankruptcy and were bailed out by some other company-which their business practice is no better and shady. Goodbye Winc, Ive cancelled my account.

************ from Imperfect foods to try Winc in 2021. I never signed up for a subscription. I just realized that I have been charged $60 a month since 2021. I tried to login to Winc and they say I don't have an account. I was charged $2000 for wines I've never gotten and don't have an account for. I'm freaking out right now and have to wait until they open tomorrow.

I had a subscription with this company, but the credit card I stored expired. The website then stated that no more shipments would be processed until my payment information was updated. The credit card in question expired on 1/23. No more shipments were processed for several months, as I never updated my payment information. Per the Winc website, no more shipments could be processed until this was updated. Somehow, on 9/6/23, they processed a payment with the card that had been expired for over 6 months. I also never got the usual warning email that my shipment was to be processed, which I usually received a day or two before the shipment processed, allowing me to modify the shipment. I called and emailed to let them know that I was told by the website no more shipments could be processed with that credit card. Their email response stated, "Upon checking, it shows that your account went inactive last 04/10/22. This is due to your billing information being declined after the unsuccessful multiple authorizations to your bank. After a few months of re-attempting to charge the card, the account was frozen until it got charged as of 09/07/23. This happened when the authorization pushed through and was allowed by the bank." This makes no sense. I was told I could have a refund when the shipment was returned. But as I hadn't used the service in months, the shipment went to an old address. So it is impossible for me to receive a refund, as I cannot return something I didn't receive. The return is a matter between Winc and ****** so my refund should not be contingent on something that I cannot control. Charging an expired card after stating that they would no longer do so is an extremely shady practice/.

This is a shady business. I opened an account during the pandemic and then canceled my account a year or so later. In order to use the remaining money in my account I ordered wines. They then started pulling money from my bank again and credited an account without my explicit permission. This is a horrible business with terrible wine.

This is a complete scam. The wines are extremely repetitive and bitter. On top of that, I requested to cancel on two separate emails with surveys attached. They claimed they "never got the surveys" and continued to charge me anyway, and refused to refund me. Then, they sent me "proof" of my survey (the same one they initially claimed they never got) to show that I needed to respond to their email. Their "argument" was they needed my response to my cancellation survey which said "Please cancel my subscription ASAP. Thank you" Not sure how I could be any more clear. They are currently withholding funds that were charged after a cancellation and it's not right or a company than anyone should be doing business with or trust them with personal information.
