I received a call from Beacon Travel about attending a seminar in ******** and for my time I'd receive $500 dinner voucher & a 2 night 3 day vacation. I went and listened to the seminar & got harassed by their employees and left. I received NOTHING that I was promised. At least in time share presentations, you walk away with the promised vacation. It is 11 PM on a Friday evening. This company contacted me. Not only is this bad business, but it is also against the law to not verify do not call list registry. I see that there are countless other complaints for the same reason. Unprofessional practicesBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because:My contact information should never have been in their database. The business needs to guarantee that they will comply with consumer protection laws related to the National Do Not Call registry. There are NUMEROUS complaints against this vendor for this exact same issue. They clearly think they are above the law when it comes to consumer protection.

Every marketing company that we contract with is explicitly directed to follow all DNC protocol and processes. We subscribe to SAN numbers and provide access for all area codes called. If they do not abide their contracts are terminated. We do not attempt to contact those that wish to be on DNC. We wish this customer the best.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:It is this businesss responsibility to accurately vet the sources they get their call lists from. Not mine.
There are numerous BBB complaints of this business disregarding the National Do-Not-Call Registry.
Their blaming the marketing company they contract with for call lists is just them dodging responsibility.
Sincerely,

My wife and I attended Travel Transparency's travel seminar in ******************* on October 26th. It was not for us at the time, as we had already done most of our traveling for the year, and the cost savings for us wouldnt have been substantial enough to justify the cost at this point in our lives. We had paid $20 in cash at the stand Travel Transparency had set up at the ******************************* the Sunday before to attend the meeting (a requirement of the man tending that stand. He was emphatic that $20 be paid, or we would not be allowed to enter the meeting, and he was also emphatic, when asked, that we would be given our 20 dollars back upon entry to the meeting). We were assured, both at that fair, and in person on the 26th, that we would receive our 20 dollars back right before the seminar, or certainly before we left the building. I wanted that money in cash at the time, so this would not become a drawn-out situation, and asked the woman at the front about it. Before the seminar began, she told me the money would be paid back. However, the woman I spoke to told me that they would pay that out via Zelle, ******, or another digital method instead, to the phone number or email associated. She claimed this was because people would claim they were never refunded, but I suspect this to be a tax-related tactical choice by the business instead, or worse - a ploy at stealing cash from unsuspecting consumers who won't try to retrieve the 20 dollars. I have, to this moment, not received an email or phone message indicating any payment has been made to me. I have neither received any communication from their office, who have my phone number and email address. Please have them send the $20 to my phone number via Zelle, or send via ****** to my email address listed in this complain as soon as possible.Business Response

Company offers a travel promotion (similar to time share but somewhat different).Company promises "free" gifts to induce customers to show up for a "presentation".The product does not meet the specifications of what the company promises and appears to offer no or little value to consumers. The "free" gifts are also presented in a misleading way in that the consumer is led to believe they can fly anywhere in the continental US for free when in fact there are undisclosed expenses and other terms which dramatically limit the true value of the voucher. Now, the business is calling me repeatedly without my consent. I have told them to cease and desist calling me and they continue. The Company should be investigated for its fraudulent practices.Business Response

This company has repeatedly called my cellphone with the intention of selling me some type of travel club membership, even though my number is on the Federal Do Not Call list, and they have been told to stop several times. This last call, my husband answered, to attempt to figure out who was constantly calling us. The rep tried using several fake names to id the company. My husband actually set up a "presentation", and was given the address to go to. We called the hotel at that address, and spoke to the general manager. She told us that the company was called "Beacon Travel", which is the new name for Travel Transparency. We made several attempts to reach out to the company, to resolve the issue, but were ignored. At this point, we need to speak to the company's ATTORNEY or LEGAL REPRESENTATION to get this matter resolved. No other resolution will be considered or accepted.Business Response

My husband and I attended a presentation by the company 9 months ago. They showed a very convincing presentation where their company could provide us with discounts of around 50% off what other places charge for traveling. This could be cruises, stays at hotels or resorts, etc. The only thing they didnt guarantee a discount on was on airfare. They showed a cost comparison between their website and others to prove their point. We decided to sign up with them so that we could afford to go on nice vacations. They charged us $3,000 for the membership. We paid $600 down with a $199 processing fee and then have been paying $100/month with a $5 fee. The first flag was them not taking our first monthly payment and having to call a few times to get it going. Then a few months ago I got an email talking about renewing my account which made no sense. I made a comparison myself a few different times with cruises. Our savings would only have been about $50-200. This is significantly less than what we were shown. Had we known this, we wouldnt have signed up. I then looked up the company with the BBB and saw the other complaints. We cant afford to have the issues everyone else has experienced. I called the company and tried to cancel my account, but was told I couldnt because there are still payments on my membership. Theres no cancellation policy in anything I signed. Nowhere does it say I am required to pay the entirety of my membership. Theres an annual fee for their service as well and I asked how I would know they wouldnt charge me. The guy I spoke with said that it will be sent to their team for cancellations. He said I could deactivate my account and he would walk me through it, but later said that same team would handle it. I have tried to get credits through my bank, but have been unsuccessful.Business Response

The savings are undisputable. Although there may be properties with savings of a few hundred dollars there are also countless options with savings of thousands of dollars. The platform is currently saving travelers over $1M per month. Like many purchases consumers are provided a cancellation period when they become members, but not 9 months later. We're happy to help this customer find value in what they purchased if they contact member services.Customer Answer

Although we can understand the frustration of a reservation issue, it can be beyond our control. ********* hotels overbook, have construction challenges etc. These challenges represent a small fraction of Travel Transparency reservations.Customer Answer

Complaint: 21983800
I am rejecting this response because:So then explain to me why it has been stated that the customer can then go ahead and make a reservation through the place they have arrived at for vacation for the same time period that they had reserved with Travel Transparency? This would indicate the issue lies with yall not the location (hotel, resort, etc.)

My name is ****** ,on 07/1/2023 I went to this seminar at travel, transparency.I was looking for a trip for my sister ****** and I to take together. At the end of the seminar I decided to sign my sister and I up for a trip.I paid 929.00$ for a 5 day 4 night trip to **************the deal was we had 5 years to plan and make the trip.If we liked it we would have a opportunity to become a member and travel to others places.About 4 months after paying ,my sister fell into a serious health issues. She has stage 4 colon cancer and she was not able to travel..Transparency had called me and asked if I was ready to renew .I told them that I had not used the package and explained that I would not be using the package. The member on the phone was pushing me to renew ,I explained again we wont be using it at all.I told him what was going on and he replied to me sorry for your situation we will put it on hold, you have up to 5years to use it,maybe down the road you can put it to use. I kept getting phone calls about the renewal.again telling them I wasnt going to use it.I was already knowing I was going to lose out on the money I paid already ,but I was ok with that. On 6/26/2024 I revived a letter from a creditor ****** credit corporation stating that I owed ******** as of May 15, 2024 And that they are the debt collector..I had told Travel Transparency that I was not renewing and or taking the package.I never asked for my money back ,I went over the paper work that I had been givien and they seemed to initial all the boxes with my initials with a computer sign my name with the computer I only signed one document and that was the receipt for the money that I had given that day, so I was never informed what I was getting into. It was never explained to me, but they initial .The only signature is the receipt for the payment that I gave them that day was $929.They should not be able to ruin my credit over something that I never used or agreed to.please help me get justice.Thank youBusiness Response

It appears this customer became a member. According to their contract they made an initial deposit and selected financing. A couple things to note. The annual dues they are referring to are optional. They can choose to not pay them for one year or 3 years. When they're ready to travel again they can simply pay the dues and make reservations for an additional 12 months. It is extremely fair and flexible. Unfortunately, we cannot control the personal circumstances as the financing is sent to a lender/bank after initial purchase. They will require the customer to abide by their contract. We are happy to help this member with their future travel whenever their lives allow. Hope things get better for them.Initial Complaint

I was pressured into buying a travel club membership which was reported to provide steep discounts. They showed many example of this during the presentation. After signing up I was not able to book a single deal because the discounts were all false and inflated. The travel club provides no services beyond those available for free as a search engine like Expedia or Travelocity. I stopped paying the fees will approx 900 left (of ****). I told them I will not pay the remaining balance due to never having used the services or received any benefits. I requested a supervisor and was told the person calling was the supervisor. He threatened to send to collections immediately and impact my credit. This company has many unsavory practices and is a blatant money grabbing scam. They provide nothing for clients and use their contracts they make you sign as a backup to take and keep your money for nothing.Business Response
