We visited the office on Thursday 11/11 at around 8pm to treat our dog's eye swelling. Below are problem areas we encountered with our visit. I brought these to the attention of their office via email. - The bill we received that night was on the very high end of the budgeted work. When we were checking out we asked why the bill fell on the very high end. he receptionist was not able to tell us except for stating that one more medicine was prescribed. When speaking to management, the additional medication was only $33. I am not sure why we were charged an additional $277 above the low estimate which fell OUTSIDE the HIGH end of the estimate. - We found the doctor's feedback and care plan to not be clear and led us to additional issues. - Given this lack of clarity, we were forced to see another emergency visit later that week on Sunday night due to increased eye problems. The new vet informed us it was a result of over medication. Something we were never warned about or told about in following up with Canejo directly. This additional visit, on top of an additional follow-up visit after the fact, cost us an additional $300. - When I called to have the records sent to Encino Veterinary Center, they were wrongly sent to a different vet. - During our visit, we were NEVER told our dog was found to have cataracts in his right eye. Only after the additional vet visit did the vet inform us of this finding on Canejo's report. I don't understand how this critical piece of information was not relayed to us but was on the formal medical records. - In an effort to delay increased cataract problems, we visited an ophthalmologist for an additional $280 and informed us he actually does NOT have cataracts. I spoke to their management twice and their position is that they did nothing wrong and would offer zero refund and banned us from any future visits. They were extremely rude. I find the above points to be real problem areas that they want to simply ignore then fix
