I have taken two loans out with Payoff / Happy Money. There were no issues with the first loan, but just paid another one off back in 03/2025, and nothing has been reported to the credit bureau. Aiming to by a house soon, so this is unfortunate timing. Would recommend another provider after my latest experience.

Paid off loan January 20th 2025, it is now April 21st 2025 and it is still not reported as paid off on credit. Last update was December 1st 2024 I wouldve gotten another loan with them but not after this. Ive talked to them multiple times over the phone. They sent a payoff letter that stated ***** days to update to credit yet when I called they said 90 days and here we are. Still no update.

Happy Money takes a very long time to update your credit report after you payoff your loan. As a result, you caused me to have to pay a higher interest rate due to my debt to income ratio. I requested by phone and email, but they would not comply.

Thiefs! I took out a 36 month loan w/a due date of the 13th of the month. I paid extra and early every month. I made my monthly payment then made a payment of a few thousand dollars. It told me I had a payment due that month, even though I paid way more than my mo they payment. I emailed and was told I didnt have a payment due. I sent screen shots and they confirmed no payment due. Then on the 4th of the following month, it said I owed $300. The balance of the loan was $300 and it shouldnt have been due until the 13th. I paid the $300 to be done. On the 5th, 8 days before my payment due date and after the loan was paid in full 2 years early, I started getting calls, emails, and texts messages from collections!!!!!! They said it was an error and were rude. I paid my loan off in full 2 years early and was getting collection calls 8 days before my due date! WTH!!! I continued to get collection calls for another 2 days even though the loan showed paid in full and wouldnt have had a payment due. They refused to give me a paid in full letter and said it would be 90 days before the credit bureau would be updated. By the way, they were very delayed in reporting to the credit bureaus. Its 8/7/24 and my credit report as of today shows last updated by Happy on 6/1/24.

This company is the absolute worst. After being on hold for over 20 minutes, they have the nerve to ask if I'm still there? Are you kidding me? Whenever I talk to a new person, I have to re-verify my information because the previous agent just passed me off without telling me. You'd think they'd have my info by now! They don't even ask you if can they place you on hold. They say they have to look into it and here comes the music. And don't even get me started on the staffnone of them are friendly. Sure, you're lending me money, but I'm paying you back with interest. That doesn't give you the right to treat me like c*** No wonder this company has terrible reviews on the BBB. Beware! They're sneaky too, adding more payments due than we originally agreed upon. I asked for these extra charges on top of the ***** and no one could explain them. They just kept passing me around, putting me on hold over and over. Then they transferred me to someone named ***** in collections, even though I'm in good standing. She had the worst attitude and gave me smartass responses.STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I'm doing you a huge favor by warning you.

Impossible to get a live person on the phone. Then, once you pay the account off, they stop reporting ANY activity and refuse to report the account paid in full. I would advise you to never use this company. I'm on the phone with a guy now telling me it could take an additional month or two to show paid in full. I told him I have 26 other accounts that all show paid. They even stopped reporting my payments! LOL What a scam! Never again, Sad Money!

**Consumer ************************** purports to enhance individuals' financial well-being by advocating the utilization of money as a means to achieve personal contentment. However, my experience with this entity contradicts such claims. Over the course of three years, I have maintained a loan arrangement with them, diligently settling nearly 95% of the outstanding balance. Nevertheless, a seemingly minor delay in payment application, occurring just one day after the stipulated due date, resulted in the unjust classification of my account as delinquent.Notably, the company imposes restrictions on same-day payments, exacerbating the situation. Despite promptly communicating the circumstances surrounding a delayed payment, attributed to my illness and subsequent hospitalization, the company's representatives displayed inflexibility in considering a good faith adjustment, thereby exacerbating the financial strain on my family due to the ensuing adverse credit remark. While debt consolidation can be an advantageous strategy when undertaken with reputable partners, this particular company's practices are regrettably characterized by ethical lapses and inadequate customer service standards. Continued engagement with them poses a substantial risk of exacerbating financial hardships rather than alleviating them, particularly evident in instances where unforeseen circumstances impede timely payments. In response to these grievances, I am actively pursuing resolution through formal channels, including disputing the adverse credit notation and lodging a complaint with the relevant state attorney general's office.

DO NOT take out a loan with this company. Probably one of the worst experiences I've had. I've asked for financial hardship assistance, due to being laid off, being unemployed for months, and having to take a lower-paying position to make ends meet. I cannot afford the monthly payment amount and have asked to get lowered payments until I'm able to find myself in a better position financially. They have given me the runaround for months telling me I could only skip payments and to ask about financial assistance in the future. I've finally used up all of my skip payment options, chatted with an agent about the next steps, and specifically chose chat so I could have a paper trail of the correspondence. It was a terrible experience but I expected nothing less. They of course denied me help and tried to shame me for the amount of time I've requested assistance (which is honestly comical), and then when I asked for a copy of the correspondence to be sent to me, they told me I needed to manually download it myself from chat but their system does not give you the option to do that. So I needed to take 20+ screenshots of the tiny chat window to make sure I had a copy. Awful company with the least helpful staff who will just give you the runaround instead of answering your questions straight. Make sure you keep a copy of all your correspondence if you find yourself accepting a loan from them. If you're considering it but haven't signed the dotted line... just turn around and work with a credit union.
