My partner and I noticed a small leak from one of our indoor fire sprinklers the week of 6/20/22 and were referred to AAA fire protection services by our HOA. The company was prompt in their response and quoted us $1,025 (+parts) to investigate the leak and make any necessary repairs. A technician was able to visit our home on 6/21/22. He inspected the leak we had identified but was ultimately unable to conduct any repairs. We were told by the same technician that the buildings sprinkler system was over pressurized and lacked the necessary pressure relief valve. He reduced the pressure, and before leaving recommended we replace all of the sprinklers in our home, and told us we would only be charged for his time and gas - this was apparently conveyed to him by the companys owner. We thought this was reasonable, and decided we would have him back to conduct the recommend repair work.We have since received an invoice for $1,025 for an emergency service call and repair work. After our initial conversation with AAA in which we explained no repair work had been done we received a discounted invoice of $725 for an emergency inspection. I would understand this cost if they had identified further leakage, or had conducted any repairs, but the technician did neither. We were also not notified when we scheduled the appointment that it would constitute an emergency service charge - we would absolutely have scheduled an appointment at a later date had we known. We would now have to pay potentially thousands of dollars in addition to this service charge to have them come back to our property to actually do the recommended repair work. We have tried filing a complaint with our HOA, and they have reached out to AAA on our behalf, but have not received a response. We would be happy to pay for the technicians time, but feel even a discounted rate of $725 is extreme considering no repair work was conducted.

    Better Business Bureau:

My partner and I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to us. With the information they have provided it is clear that over pressurization caused the leak and our concerns must be addressed with ******** Property Services.

    Sincerely,
