I have purchased tens of thousands of dollars at Musiciansfriend over the years. But never again. Recent order. I ordered over $2000 in equipment including a $1200 mixer.. Website indicated that the mixer was in stock and ready to ship. A day later all items except the mixer indicated "shipped." After a few days, I contacted MF. After 15 minutes of communication, the rep, Daniel, reported that the mixer was on back-order and would not be shipped until it was received. If I would not have called, they would have not informed me. Daniel reported that they don't send out notices of backordered items. I canceled the order for the mixer. One of the other items that I purchased was a cranking sub pole for over $100. The item description indicated that it was a level 1 open box. Level 1 is supposed to be "mint" condition. I opened the box immediately upon receipt, and observed that the item was obviously not in mint condition. Even worse, it was broken. The crank would not work. I called MF and the rep reported that finding good staff is difficult and they don't always inspect the items. Someone obvious broke the crank and returned it. MF sold it to me. Now I have to spend time and money returning the product and wait to get my money back.Review from Alisha S

Purchased an item on back order, waited five months and finally reached out to customer service, only to be informed my order had been cancelled. As they claim, they waited to charge my card until it was available to ship, so my card was declined and they automatically cancelled the order. They also claim emails were sent but I never received them, despite confirming my email address was correct. I won't be taking my business to them anymore.Review from Justin V

I got a MF platinum cc after receiving an offer that I liked. I bought $1300 in items with it including a schecter guitar. They messaged me saying they don't have them in mf warehouse, but they did have open box in guitar centers if I accept. I accepted under the condition that it was inspected and free of damage. They sent me a damaged guitar. The box was fine, so it was damaged at the store at some point. It's been 2 and a half weeks and I'm just getting it today. I sent in feedback, they gave me a $25 credit on my account... Great I guess? Then I bought a Scarlett bundle, they couldn't locate it, so they canceled it. It's been 10 days since then and my credit is still tied up in it. They also contacted by email today to tell me that the replacement I'm receiving today had a charge on my PayPal that wasn't processed, so they needed me to call in to correct it. I called mf and gc and they said the same thing, there's no issue with my order, it was payed for by my mf platinum card, and there's no PayPal used on my account at any point. So, complete hassle, tons of waiting, and endless bs on a relatively simple order. When this concludes in full and I pay for all of this I'm washing my hands of gc and mf, because they're completely awful. Music mill in manchester nh is a much better option, apparently I'm better off buying from locally owned businesses.Musician's Friend, Inc. Response

I’ve done business with Muscians Friend for over 25 years. I’ve bought guitars, studio equipment, etc. I ordered 2 boxes of acoustic light strings, 11-52’s, with a 4 mic wireless set-up. When I got the strings they were 12-54’s. I called to return them and they refused. They said there were no returns on strings, even though they were never opened, the wrong gauge, and in their original sealed package. I stopped doing any further business with Muscians Friend. It’s time to reorder strings and I’m ordering through Sweetwater as Muscians Friend cares more about money than they do customers. So sad. They are NOT the Muscian’s friend. Now they’ve lost thousands of dollars from me (bought a great PA system from Sam Ash) because they wouldn’t provide what I ordered and needed. Stopped shopping at Guitar Center as well. All over two boxes of strings they should have replaced. They won’t care that I don’t do business with them as I’m just one person- same business concept as Gemco and TWA. Hmmmm.Review from John L

Musician's Friend did not honor the backorder price. I ordered an amplifier for $199. A few months later (1/9/24) , I received an email informing me that my order was canceled/"We're sorry, but the below gear is no longer available". They were willing to help me with alternatives. However, a couple of weeks later, the item appeared on their website at full price $399. When I called confronting the issue, I was told it was a mistake and that actually it pertained to a returned item that they were willing to sell me at a $60 discount for my trouble. However, the website continues to show the availability of this item at the original price of $399 as an item now in stock. I do not feel that Musician's Friend is a trustworthy business.Musician's Friend, Inc. Response

I think this company should close for good. Since they don't care to even try to make their customers happy with their purchase. Even sweetwater will do an exchange for you but not this place. Looks like they just lost a customer for good but I doubt they even care..Musician's Friend, Inc. Response

Ordered a Jetslide 8-9 months ago. Requested a refund after 2 months had gone by to no avail. Was told when back in stock I'd receive it. Dec. of '23 money was taken out of my account and to this day I never received product. Stay far far away from these people. Buy elsewhere!!Musician's Friend, Inc. Response

I ordered a hard case for my a-styie mandolin. I received it in less than a week and that was during the holidays! It was very well packaged, firm card board box, padded with packing paper, placed in a static free bag. The case was in excellent condition. New and damage free. Viticulture brass buckles, soft padding cover the inside of the case. It even had feet on the bottom to keep it off the ground. I am very pleased with my purchase. It was priced well below what I had been able to find on the market. I will definately be considering them again for future needs ?. For those who are having issues with receiving too many emails, learn how to manage your email. Mark it as spam if you really don't want to see them. Its not that hard.Musician's Friend, Inc. I recently received my Meinl Tongue Drum sent to me from the Guitar Center in La Mesa, CA. Musician's Friend found this item as an open box offering to get to me faster. I agreed and it arrived fast and was in excellent condition. It's a beautiful instrument with a great sound. I checked the tuning and found it to be spot on ! Even the carrying case was impressive with a bit of a vintage look. The drum and the case are very nice quality. I am very pleased with this instrument and look forward to many happy hours with it. Maybe at some point I can get the rubber cover/plug for the bottom hole,,it was missing. So highly recommend Musician's Friend. Super source for instruments and great customer service. I am having the same problem as arr b. wrote on 10/10/2023 For months, I have been getting about ten spam emails from musiciansfriend.com per day, despite many efforts to unsubscribe. The unsubscribe function on their website doesn't work. I also wrote two paper letters, delivered to their address by USPS, asking them to remove me from their spam list, but they have been ignored. I want Musician's Friend to do what they said they would do for arr b: unsubscribe me from their spam lists. I wish I had never bought the clarinet ligature (which is warped and doesn't hold my reeds on) and I certainly would never buy anything from them again. It appears from my experience and other reviews that whoever is managing this company has low regard for customers, both by sending shoddy equipment and sending out floods of unwanted spam daily. When I goggled Musician's Friend, there were many hits all over the country, so it seems this may be a national franchise. I haven't done business with other MF companies, so don't know if this problem is coming from the franchise or the national company. Where ever the problem lies, it would be in MF's best interests to send only the best equipment and to refrain from hounding customers with incessant spam.Musician's Friend, Inc. Response
