    I hired Honest Tax to do my taxes and enroll me in a tax-saving plan through the government. They did not enroll me in any plan, but they continued not to return my phone calls or emails. Honest Tax refused to send me any supporting documents of what they had done, and now I'm finding out they did not enroll me in the tax-saving plan. I still owe taxes for the years. Honest Tax charged me over $7000.00 to file my taxes. Honest Tax is dishonest about what they say they will do. They should be put out of business for lying and stealing people's money.

    HONEST TAX is a SCAM! I contracted with Honest Tax in 2021 and paid a retainer of $2250 to negotiate a lower tax liability and lower my monthly payments due to hardship. 7 months later they told me theyd reached a settlement offer with the *** of $12,202. Only to discover they never applied that payoff to the *** and I never received any confirmation from the *** that theyd been in any negotiations with Honest Tax. Ive contacted Honest Tax multiple times over the last 3+ years with no resolve. I have reported them to the ****.

    This issue has been going on for several years without resolve. My payoff in September 2021 was NEVER submitted to the ***. Furthermore, Honest Tax has NOT reached out to me. The only contact has been when Ive called them, and then they dont follow up. Ive explained my issues multiple times and they have never acknowledged my payoff in 2021, even tho Ive submitted the final statement they sent me several times. 

    Any correspondence they want to have with me needs to be in writing via email.

    I hired Honest Tax to assist with resolving my tax issues with the **** They claimed to have expertise in tax resolution and promised to negotiate a settlement on my behalf.Issues:1.False Claims: Honest Tax misrepresented the status of my case, stating they had settled with the *** when, in fact, no resolution had been reached.2.Lack of Transparency: Despite repeated requests, they refused to provide a detailed breakdown of their work and the services performed.3.Unprofessional Conduct: Representatives hung up on me multiple times when I inquired about the status of my **************** Loss: I paid $3,900 for services not rendered.Resolution Requested:I demand a full refund of $3,900 and request that Honest Tax take immediate action to rectify this situation.     I had tax problems. I contacted the honest tax group. They made me take a loan out for over $5,000 to complete the work, then they said they negotiated with *** and said I had to take another loan out of $19,000 plus. Then they said the state taxes I owed was $14,000 plus. And made me take out another loan to pay state taxes. I called repeatedly to get updates. They kept trying to put it back on me, saying I was supposed to do the work. What the. And then I got garnished from the State of ****. I called ***** to figure out whats going on again, since this was the second time I have been garnished while having them as my tax support team. I called them multiple times, with no answers, I called ****, I called the collection service for ****. I set up the hardship, I did the leg work to get the garnishment gone. I told honest tax group I wanted my money back. At this time I have paid them for state, over $2,000 and now have been garnished where they took over $3******. They said I would have my money back in 7-10 days. 2 weeks later, they took another ****** out. I called them, and they actually answered. And then they changed there story. They said that the $14,000 plus I took out for a loan was not to pay taxes, it was to pay them for there services. I told them they where crazy! They had been lying to me the whole time. Now I cant get ahold of anyone. They will not answer my calls, emails, texts. I have 30 days straight of emails I have sent with no reply. They owe me a lot of money! I need To get the other loans shut down without affecting my credit, I need paperwork showing exactly what they say they have done. These criminals should be imprisoned. All there reviews state similar experiences. They ate dealing with people with tax problems, therefore I feel we are vulnerable. I expect my $30,000 returned. They really should be looked at for criminal acts and should be prosecuted! They are nothing but liars and are evil

    We are writing to provide an update regarding Mr. ******** case and our ongoing communications with him.
    Initially, Mr. ****** contracted our services to assist with his IRS tax matters. As a courtesy, we extended our support to address his state tax concerns. However, during our investigation, we identified that Mr. ****** is not compliant with the state and is missing tax returns for the years ********* and *********. As we discussed, compliance is essential for any resolution to be reached, and Mr. ****** agreed to gather the necessary documentation. To date, we have not received any supporting documents from him.
    It is important to clarify that Mr. ******** assertion of having completed all necessary legwork is inaccurate. We have proactively communicated his non-compliance status to the state, prepared hardship documents, and successfully released his wage garnishment. Despite our efforts, Mr. ****** chose to terminate our services. We provided him with a detailed invoice outlining the services rendered and their corresponding dates. Additionally, we canceled third-party loans on his behalf and offered a partial refund for services that had not yet been performed.
    Regrettably, Mr. ****** has since engaged legal counsel and has continued to communicate in a manner we consider inappropriate. His case has now been referred to our legal department, which will work to resolve the matter.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    They are master liars, manipulators, thieves and scammers!   The only reason I called them in the first place was to get my state taxes figured out!  Then they told me that I had federal tax issues as well.  These freaking liars not only told me that they had spoken to the **** and had set up a payment arrangement with them for $19,360.. or something very close to that.  But they told me that they had spoken to the state of **** and settled with them for an additional $14,356.00 or very close to that amount.    I took out the loans, that was set up through them, to take care of all my tax problems.  This is on top of the other loan I took out for over $5,000 to pay them for there services.    They told me everything was done.  I thought it was like super fast.  I didnt understand how they could make a single call and get everything settled.    And I should have went with my gut!  Cause they are freaking liars!   The only time they called the *** is the first day I called them.   I did not have a contract with them, they called to get amounts.   I have paperwork showing that they did not call them.  The *** has a call log of every one who called in for a specific person.   And the only date they called was the original date I called them to ask what they could do to help me.  I still dont know what the freaking loan  for $19,360 was even for!   Then I got garnished from the state of ****!   They never got ahold mold of them, they never called them!   So I CALLED THE STATE OF ****.  I called them, they sent me to ************  I CALLED *** services and I WENT THROUGH the hardship request, with the customer service walking me through the process!   I DID ALL OF THAT!!! Those liars!!  I finally got the garnishment shut down after they took $3600.00 from me.   I called to try and get my money back from honest tax group.  They sent me to accounting.  She said if I cancelled then I would be getting my FULL REFUND back in 7-10 days.  I said do whatever you need to do to get my money back!!  Well 2 weeks passed and I never got my money!!   So I called them back.   And he said he was not giving me my money back, cause that was his money.  I was like no, you promised me a refund and I want my freaking check!   He said that was not to pay the state of ****, that was HIS CHARGE he was charging me to do the taxes!   So they lied about that also!!!   So now I have $35,000 in loans to them, that they are now saying is there fees!!   And then to get kicked in the nuts even harder. These scam artist sent me a fake invoice! ????.  They charged me $500.00 to call them after I got garnished!  They never told me I was getting charged for phone calls. They just needed to show something.  So they took the calls I made to them, cause I got garnished and was trying to figure out what the c*** was going on.. and they hit me with like $19,000.00 in fees!   Are you kidding me???  You dont do your job you promised, you lied to me about the money, then due to your lack of work or doing anything, I get garnished  and because I call the company to figure out what the c*** is going on, they start charging me $500.00 a phone call??  I went line by line and proved to them that every line on the invoice was incorrect and fraud.   I received paperwork, FROM THEM, trying to show they did something.   Well the paperwork shows that the last entry, was in March of the previous year!   This report gets updated every time you run it!   My new company did it weekly.  This is what the irs and everyone else sees!    So they lied about the invoice and all its charges!   Then after about 1,00 emails I was finally able to get the loans shut down.   Then they promised me to refund my money!  But the freaking liars told me that I was getting the money refunded to me by the loan companies!   So I called the loan companies!  And they said that that was a lie, the loans where originated through honest tax, so the money went to them.   They kept lying to me and saying no its the loan companies.   So I finally talked the honest tax group into doing a 3 way call with the loan companies!  And guess what?  The loan companies called them liars and said they where lying. The money went back to them.   Well then the honest tax group said well we are not paying you cause we did work ????   And started the bull c*** all over again!  No! I disproved your invoice, all the loan places, go services, irs   These are all recorded calls!  I will gladly call them and get recordings from all of them!  I will gladly get go services to show that they helped me do the hardship! And that I took care of the garnishment myself!  I will gladly do make whatever calls necessary to now show you how evil, and corrupt this company is!  They are stealing daily from people! They are scamming every poor person who calls them!   They caused me to have a mental breakdown! Not only did I have to deal with there lies! But then had to go find someone legit to actually do the work!   So not only did I have to take out over $30,000 on loans for honest tax group.  That still almost 2 years later, I still have not gotten my money back! But I had to now come up with a way to pay the new company. Who did everything in a couple of months!   They helped me with a letter showing fraud on there end!  So I submitted it in   And now I am waiting again, cause now there so called legal team is involved!   All they had to do was refund my money! But no! They have caused me more pain and suffering then anyone can imagine.  They broke me!  And for them to sit there and now lie to you, like they are lying to the rest of the world?  Wow what a slap to the face!  They are criminals! They should all go to jail!  They have got to get stopped!  They are NOT A **************  They are scammers!!!    I want my money from them, and I want them to reimburse me for the garnishment that they caused and I want them to also pay for my pain and suffering that I have had to go through for 19 months, now almost 20 months!   This is so beyond ridiculous!  They need to be stopped!   I expect my money returned!  And I expect them to pay the full amount back  plus I want money for the garnishment and for pain and suffering!  Its the least they can do for ruining my life and breaking me!

    We entered into a contract of service with Honest Tax to provide resolution with our State and Federal Taxes in Dec. 2020. The contract was to address and work with the *** for our *********, 2019 and 2020 taxes. We signed a power of attorney. We were told that they had filed a hardship document with the *** on our behalf and they were working out the resolution. This continued through 2021 and 2022, which we kept sending them our W2s and completing our tax returns with them. Paid them additional payment totally $10,000. In June 2023, we find out that they never filed our State taxes with Hawaii and signed another Power of Attorney. They never contacted Hawaii and our wages were garnished. We had to find an attorney here in ****** and file Bankruptcy. We find out in the process that they had not completed our taxes for 2021 or 2022. They also did not complete any resolution for our taxes from *********. We have filed bankruptcy and Honest tax is now saying that because our 21 and 22 taxes were not filed and we filed bankruptcy there is nothing they could do to complete the resolution.

    We are writing in response to the complaint submitted by ******** ******. We have been in direct communication with *** and Mrs. ****** regarding their case and concerns.
    Initially, we were contracted to address their IRS tax matters. Subsequently, they informed us of issues related to their state taxes, and we agreed to assist with this matter as a courtesy. As noted by the clients, they were missing certain tax returns, which resulted in non-compliance with both the *** and the state. In order to facilitate resolution, we prepared and filed the necessary missing returns.
    Throughout this process, we maintained active communication with both the state authorities and the agent assigned to their case concerning compliance issues. We also initiated efforts to secure a reduction in wage garnishment. An email was sent to the clients detailing the supporting documents required; however, to date, we have not received these documents and were subsequently informed that they had filed for bankruptcy.
    It is important to note that once a bankruptcy is filed, both the *** and the state place a hold on any outstanding balances while the bankruptcy proceedings are underway. We have communicated this process to *** and Mrs. ****** and discussed the subsequent steps.

    I payed honest tax to fix tax misfiling from 2022. I payed them ***** upfront. They have yet to fix the problem l. I never asked them to wipe or make taxs owed as a no collect. I have tried to talk with them and have requested my file 4 times. All they do is pass me to someone else. I still receive letters from the irs. When I spoke to them 2 times this week all they keep saying is I dont understand or here is this form we will fix 2023 taxs. They were payed to do a job that they have not and do not appear to be doing. When I asked for a brake down of there work I was told they would put in a request to see if they can release it to me. They are creating more problems than they are fixing.

    In July 2020 we contracted with this company to help resolve taxes from 2015 to 2020. We paid them around $3000, since the contract is no longer available on the signature platform that we signed it on I cant give you the specifics if this exact second. We were told that that would resolve our debt, and we would owe nothing. And 2021 we were told that we had to pay $7500 and that would clear our debt and not to pay our 2021taxes. So we did not. As this money was our tax money. They came back again and said oh we had to pay more money and provide this alone for legal fees to go to court to resolve this. In the meantime were getting notices from the *** theyre sending us to the collection agencies and theyre saying dont worry about it that doesnt mean anything other than it does report on my credit. Today we get told that all right they ready to settle and its going to be another $12,000 which were already out. I am disabled, my husband is on Social Security, so Im not quite sure where Im supposed to powerless money out. We have taken loans out for them , I have an exorbitant amount of medical bills and they want me to come up with another $12,000. Originally we were told this will only be done for a few thousand dollars. I asked them why my 2021 taxes were never filed and they told me that the *** shows we didnt make money that year, even though my husband had a 1099 for that that was filed with the ***. Obviously at some point the *** will figure out we made money that year. They said well we did your taxes for you so you have tax records. Money that we owed that they told us we go in with the rest of that settlement. I contacted another attorney today and they said that 7500 shouldve been paid directly to the *** and the *** does not show any record of it. That they pocketed that 7500 that was to clear up our debt at that time. I was also told this would be less than a year and we are working on several years now increasing the amount we owe.

    I hired Honest Tax back in 2018/2019 to help me get in good standing with the *** and the ******************************* Since, Honest Tax has been somewhat of a help, but not completely finishing the job. As my bank accounts are being frozen and funds being taken from me while I am a person with terminal health disability. To date I am still receiving tax bills and being told be Honest Tax that everything is taken care off, yet I'm still receiving bills?? I really need this business to respond and be on top in this situation.
