      On or around April 12th, I paid $2,091 for four accounts that were in collections with ********. Several days later, my husband paid an account off that was on his credit report (but also fell under my account with *********************. Since I made the first payment to Wakefield, I have been trying to obtain a debt deletion/debt paid in full letter from Wakefield to provide to my mortgage loan officer as we are attempting to buy a house. First I was told I had to submit a request to ****************** requesting these letters. After no response from that e-mail, I called more than one time asking for updates or alternative solutions. It was confirmed more than once that I had the correct e-mail. Finally, a rep told me how to obtain the letters on the website. I did so, but the account numbers on these letters DON'T match what is reported to the credit bureaus. I continued calling for help and was finally told they'd given me the wrong e-mail address. I followed the instructions for that and never got a reply. I called back and was given a ridiculous excuse for why they didn't. I have sent numerous e-mails since then to the supposed correct e-mail asking for the letter and nobody will respond to my e-mails. Wakefield refuses to send me these letters, finding a new excuse every time and not ever providing me ANY written communication as to why they will not send me these. I have yet to even get an e-mail acknowledging they received my e-mails and are working on my request. It has been impossible to get any written documentation at all that shows it as paid, even just a receipt. They tell me that they reported to the credit bureaus that it was paid, however, it was confirmed by a credit bureau that on May 8th, Wakefield reported I still owed all of the balances.

      My complaint is not claiming this debt is not valid. I agree the debt is valid, and I have paid it. My complaint is that they refuse to send me a debt paid in full or a debt cancellation letter that I can provide to my mortgage lender to prove I paid the debt.

      Wakefield & Associates, LLC (Wakefield) appreciates the opportunity to investigate and respond to ****************** complaint.  ****************** made a payment of $2,090.73 on April 11, 2024.  This payment was applied to four of the accounts that are listed in our office, bringing those four accounts to a zero balance.  Wakefield currently has thirty remaining open accounts.  The total balance for these accounts is $7,582.50. A letter showing all the accounts and their current balances, including zero balances, has been attached to this response for review.  Credit deletion requests have been sent to the credit reporting agencies for the accounts that ****************** has paid in full.

      First of all, I do not consent to information about accounts not relevant to my complaint being posted here. Second, it took numerous phone calls and e-mails to Wakefield to get the letter in need. There is a severe lack of training with their associates as nearly everybody I talked to told me something different. Every single time I called there was a new excuse as to why they could not provide the letters. Even still, the letter provided is not sufficient for Experian to get it updated. According to the major credit bureaus, Wakefield is still reporting these specific accounts that I paid as owing a balance.

They now recognize that the debt isn't mine and the account is inactive but the debt still remains on my credit report and has not been removed.       Good Afternoon

      I appreciate your support this matter.  This has been frustrating and awful. I have been dealing with this since last year.  I have attached some documents for your review.  I have put some bullets to give context into what is going on.

      -Received a collection on my credit report from UCB Collections in *****  Let them know it was the wrong individual.  The address and phone number didn't match. I gave them my address and phone number in ******** for verification purposes.  This was removed from my credit.

      -Received a collection on my credit report from ****************** Services in **************. Let them know that it was wrong individual.  The address and phone number match and I provided my social security number in full for verification.  This was also removed from my credit. 

      -Received a collection on my credit report in April 2024 from Wakefield & Associates in *********. Let them know that it was the wrong individual. My address, phone, and full social security number match.  I asked them to send me documentation.  I was refused and told that I have to request for an itemize list in writing to be sent to Sounds physicians and then back to me. 

      I have been going back and forth with 3 different collections agencies in three different states on the same collections.  I reported this to the law enforcement.  I was told that it appears that each collection agency has collected my information to update their records and then sell my debt.  Instead of letting the other party know that it is the wrong person.  I have not been to ******* and didn't receive treatment.  I didn't sign any documentation agreed to care to anything related to the care.  I let the police know that I have bank statements and other documents that can show that i was in ******** at the time this other individual was receiving treatment. I have written down every time I have spoken with every collection agency and who including sound physicians on the matter.  If you would like I can give names and dates when I spoke to each party, please let me know. I was told by law enforcement that this is fraud.

      15 U.S. Code 1692g - Validation of debts

      I have not signed for any services in ******* as I have never been to *******. I have bank statements and other supporting documentation that I have been in ********.  I have also filed police report on different agencies taking my information to match it to their information to try to collect money. Per the law enforcement this is illegal.  I called the agency and gave them the police report number if they wish a copy. If the business sends me another person personal and medical information they will be violating HIPAA and privacy laws as i have notified  them know that I am not this person multiple times  I have recorded the date and name of person I have spoken to.  Please find correct *********************** and stop messing my credit up as the last collection in **** let me know that multiple people have similar information. I welcome any questions.

      On 11/18/22 I experienced stroke like symptoms and went to the local hospital ER. I was discharged on 11/19/22. I received 2 different physician bills for ********************************* Services from App of Tennessee HM, PLLC. One included both dates, 11/18/22 and 11/19/22, and the other included only 11/18/22. I called App of Tennessee at 11am EST on 1/11/23 to question why I was being charged twice for 11/18/22. They admitted it was a mistake, that they had created duplicate account numbers - ********** and **********. They said I only owed the amount on account **********, and that they would remove the second duplicate account that had been created. I offered to pay that bill with the person on the phone and was given a discounted self-pay price of $506.40. I have receipt of that payment. In January of 2024, when I notice on my credit report of a collection account for ***************************** I called them to find that they had bought the debt from the duplicate account. I called Sapientes Funding who had taken over the App of Tennessee accounts since App of Tennessee had apparently closed permanently, and confirmed that my account was a zero balance. I provided this proof to **************************** and was told they would be conducting an investigation. I also requested a proof of debt from ****************************. I continued to be called about this collection account that I had told them was paid in full. Two months later after no proof of debt, I filed complaints with the credit bureaus. After the 30 day investigation, I suddenly received the proof of debt, which was the second duplicate account that App of Tennessee told me was removed. I would like this collection account to be removed from my credit report.

The date of service listed on the documentation provided is not the same as the date of service that was placed in our office. An itemized statement was sent to ****************** on May 15, 2024.  A copy of this itemized statement has been attached to this response.  A credit deletion request will not be completed as it is the position of Wakefield that no violation has been committed.

I have enclosed proof of my identity and a copy of my FTC Identity Theft Report.In accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am asking you to stop collection proceedings against me and stop communicating with me about this debt, except as the Fair Credit Reporting Act allows.       I have attached the requested supporting documents for my most recent disputes with Wakefield and Associates. I have sent several requests for debt validation, the most recent in January. The company still has not responded. Since this debt does not look familiar to me, I filed an identity theft report which is also attached. Even though this collection is in dispute, it still shows on my credit report. This is affecting my credit in a very negative way. I am requesting that this account be permanently removed from all three credit bureaus.

      This is all the recent communication from Wakefield and Associates through the ************************************* This is information requested since January. They responded on 3/20/2024 that they would send out the debt validation and never did. I am not sure what else I can provide. Ive provided two attachments from the **** website and an identity theft report.

      Wakefield and associates has multiple accounts in collections for me. I called out to them to request additional information about the medical account. The agent informed me of a date of service from 2019 i informed the agent i was not seen in the emergency room on that date. I then proceeded to speak to him about 2 accounts on my credit report from 2022. I asked him various questions and explained to the agent i had health insurance. The agent then proceeded to say of course i see that here you had ********** BLUE SHIELD. I said well if i spoke to all the healthcare facility's and they inform me i didnt have insurance and i was "Self Pay" Why would you know who i had insurance from if i didnt provide it. The agent then tried to continue to string me along saying they filed it against my insurance and they denied it. This also was a lie because i spoke with BCBS and got my letter confirming coverage so i know there was no claims. VERY SHADY COMPANY after he knew his back was aganist the wall he talked about "Timely Filing" I stated that has nothing to do with the emergency provider not filing his claim on time for my insurance to process. I was so very appalled to come here and see i was not the only victim to this issue. Its pulling my credit down as we speak.       Wakefield & Associates, LLC (Wakefield) appreciates the opportunity to investigate and respond to Ms. ********* complaint.  Wakefield currently has three open accounts in our office.  The first account is for date of service July 18, 2019, for physician services rendered to ******************************* while at ****** Emergency Department.  The current balance for this account is $1,487.00. The other two accounts are for date of service July 20, 2022, and August 20, 2022, for physician services rendered to ******************************* while at ****** Emergency Department.  The current balance for these two accounts is $1,246.00 and $720.00.  The first account does not fall within the coverage dates; therefore, the balance is patient responsibility.  The other two accounts do fall within the coverage dates; therefore, we will attempt to file Ms. ********* insurance.  Itemized statements have been requested from our client and will be mailed to ******************** within 30 days.
