We rent a home in ************, and for the first year everything was fine. Then Yes randomly started forgetting to include power every other month, so now our utility bill is doubled every month and still not current. Its hard enough making sure we have rent ready, but when the utility manager decides to just decide when and how many months you need to pay for, it's ridiculous. I'm about to pay almost $500 on utilities purely because they charged me for two months. I feel like we are being punished for something that is not our fault and we have no control over.

4/20/24 Ive been in my apartment for a year and a half with the same average water bill between ***** dollars. My complex recently switched to this third party billing scam and I just got a 97 dollar bill for a 500 sq ft apartment with one sink and one toilet. I noticed a discrepancy in my latest bill, (said previous meter was at 9 million when it was just 50k last month) so I will be contacting my citys water department to verify my higher usage. Coworkers who own 3 bedroom homes in the same city dont even pay 100 dollars for water so thats interesting.

This is my story. I moved in to *************** in June 2023. For the month of January until mid February I could not use stove/oven. Since moving in, I never paid over $11 for my gas bill. My heaters were shut off the entire winter months and I actually ran my A/C because it was ridiculously hot even with them off. Now here comes the charges. February I received a bill for $40 in gas. I called and was told this was for the month of January..which as you just read I had no gas. Luckily this was solved quickly and the manager took the charge off. Then came March. The bill was now $95. Once again I called and the manager this time gave me the worst excuse I heard that since I began using gas mid February that somehow those 14 days I used and then owed that gas, but she agreed to take off $50. Now April: my gas bill is $74 (I was gone 25 days during the month of March so there's still no way I used this much gas) INCLUDING A $133 "gas billing correction" amount. Yes Energy says due to faulty gas meters they inaccurately measured gas usage during the winter months and are now billing back the residents. This $133 is expected to be paid this month and the next THREE MONTHS. Somehow I used $500 worth of gas and was never informed of this. It makes no sense. No one will give me a direct answer. Residents are organizing a lawsuit and I will be first in line. They are taking advantage of people assuming we will accept the illegal activities and shady business they are conducting.

I have never been billed through this company until moving into the complex I am in now. I have been billed trash from $7.00 a month to as high as $13 .38 a month , this is not right.... moved from a house I paid the trash company a flat rate for each month everyone i know pays a flat rate. WHAT MAKES MY TRASH BILL GO UP IN THE AMOUNT YOU CHARGE. My water I never know the longer I live here the higher it gets from ***** to now 52.26....I need someone to explain this to me. I beleive we are paying for the office and trash bin rentals. Also we are having problems with the complex not fixing things and this is the period our bill has gone up. As far as water how do they get around **************** i would rather pay them , then I would know where my money was going. U do not like this YES ENERGY over my water and trash because it is my money they are messing with

4/10/2024 I AM A TENANT OF AN APARTMENT COMPLEX WHO USES YES ENERGY FOR THERE BILLING. IN MY RESEARCH I'VE REALIZE THAT IT'S NO SUCH COMPANY THEY ARE JUST A BILLING COMPANY THAT ALLOWS CORP INDUSTRIES TO USE THEM AS A COVER UP TO MAKE PEOPLE PAY . IN MY CASE MY THE ***** WAS BEING PLACED IN MY MAILBOX BY THE APARTMENTS WHICH IS ILLEGAL . THEY WERE REPORTED BY THE ************* POSTAL SERVICE AND NOW THE APARTMENT LEASING OFFICE PUTS THE ***** IN THE DOORS . WHY ARE THEY PUTTING ***** IN DOORS IF THE COMPANY IS YES ENERGY? THEY ARE OVER CHARGING TENANTS TRYING TO BASE THE WATER USAGE OFF OF PRIOR ***** FROM TENANTS . THE APARTMENT COMPLEX IS BILLED ONE BILL THEN THEY THEN *************** BETWEEN ALL TENANTS IN THAT BUILDING. THE BASE RATE FOR ************* ISN'T BILLED BY THE MARKET RATE FROM THE ORGINAL WATER COMPANY IN THE *********** (DEKALB) . YES ENERGY IS A RIP OFF FOR EVEN ALLOWING COMPANIES TO USE THERE NAMES AS A MEAN TO GET OVER ON RESIDENTS. THE METER THAT WAS PURCHASE FROM ********** AND PLACED IN UNITS DOESN'T EVEN ALLOW TENANTS TO USE THE AMOUNT OF WATER OR SEWER USAGE THE ***** ARE GIVEN . I'M REPORTING THEM TO THE ***** COMMISSIONER FOR INVESTIGATION.

i am currently in ********* , ** and my apartment complex uses YES Energy Management to bill ** for water , wastewater, storm water, and admin fee for water and sewer. My biggest concern is my bill always jumping up and down i went from $5 to $88 then down to $54 the continues i have had issues where they say my meter was dead and it was not transmitting any reading and YET they gave me a bill instead , i called , email them and YES told me since they couldnt read the meter they estimated my bill to the last bill which that makes no sense at all because that is basically guessing my bill. I called the local water services because i want to understand more about this meter reading and a guy came out , opened the box only to find out there is ONE METER to all the *************** , i spoke with other tenants some have higher bills than me some have lower bills. SO HOW IS EVERYONES READING DIFFEERENT FROM EACH OTHER IF THERES ONLY ONE METER ? also we dont have sub meters in our units? this is horrible ! we are based on low income some of us are barely floating and this is what this company does to these people?

I moved to an apartment complex 6 ******* *** have always paid 25 dollars on water & ***** for trash & this months trash bill came back to a double 45 something. I called customer ************** couldn't give me an explanation to why my bill increased, 4 days later i received an email stating that it increased due to their fuel & labor increasing as well, but their service has been slacking because their driver missed multiple pick up ********* caused for our containers to overflow with garbage. That it isnt our fault, it's their. I shouldn't have to pay more for an error on their end.

      01/24/2024

      Hi **************,

Thank you for reaching out to YES Energy Management regarding your concerns. We did want to follow up since you still have concerns.

As mentioned in our original email:

Trash is a per unit fee which means total provider charges for trash services are allocated equally to each unit.  Said charge will vary month to month based on fluctuations in provider charges.  ***** services were not very different for current billing period, provider rates are higher due to increases in fuel prices, labor expenses, and solid waste disposal fees.

We have confirmed this directly off the provider website for the following information that also correlates to rate increase:

      Why did my price increase?

Changes in monthly rates are generally based on changes to the Consumer Price index (CPI), fluctuations in fuel prices, increases in labor expenses, and solid waste disposal fees. For more information on the Consumer Price Index or the National Gasoline and Diesel,Prices click on the links below. CPI | Gasoline and Diesel National Pricing.

***** we understand you mentioned there were a few times the service was delayed and required additional pickups, the master Meter Invoice (MMI)is not implying that there were not any additional pickups during this service period. This is more in line with the mentioned rate increase above.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, you may reply to this email message or contact YES Energy Management at the phone number listed on your statement.

      Best regards,
      YES Energy Management Team

I live in an apartment complex and my water, trash and sewer bill just keeps rising each month. My children and I are gone for almost 10 to 12 hours a day and so we are barely home. I am up to $500 a month for services. The apartment complex doesnt charge everyone living there these fees only those moved in the last 3 years. Why am I being charged for what others use and not just what I use. This is ridiculous and I am paying this on top of the high rent rate I pay. This is absolutely outrageous and as a tenant in ********** I am *********** fair prices for utilities and when I lived in a single family home I never paid this amount in the 9 years I lived there. I am a single mother on a lower income and cant keep affording these rates and amounts. This has got to stop. Also I am to receive a bill showing the amount I use and what the rate for those units I am being charged and that never is down. Stop charging so much to people when they dont use that much.

      12/15/2023

      Hello *********************,

Thank you for reaching out to YES Energy Management regarding your high consumption and cost.

While researching the account we do show since about the 7/2023 statement water usage continues to increase reaching a high for 11/2023 statement. However, for the 12/2023 statement something changed in the unit for the water consumption to drop by almost half the previous month and fall more inline with the usage of 7/2023 and prior. If you had any kind of running wasted water taking place that would explain the higher consumption and cost.Hand in hand with that, if you had any type of maintenance, that would explain the drop.  Or if the overall habits in the home changed, could also show a larger decrease.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, you may contact YES Energy Management at the phone number listed on your statement.

      Best regards,
      YES Energy Management Team
