I contacted the Critter Control Corporation to deal with moles in my yard. I paid for them to be "gassed" out which cost $500 plus a monthly maintenance fee. My yard used to be emaculate and now it looks terrible. They say they are "gassing" the active mole tunnels but they yard looks worse week over week and month over month. I have sent an email and severall text messages to address the issue and have not received a response. My latest text message was today and they said they would have someone call me, but I didn't receive a response from the company. When I first started the service, everything was great. I dont know what happened to my original technician, however, I truly feel the company is taking my money and not providing an adequate service nor are they addressing my concerns / complaint.

In early December ******************************** my attic. I called critter control and they came out on 12/07/2022. I received a quote for ******* for removal, sanitizing treatment, partial exclusion and parasite treatment. They came out on 12/16/22 and found another area that needed to be repaired so that was an additional ******. A one way door was installed at one opening and the others sealed. They returned on 12/16/2023 to remove the door and seal up the final hole. I was told they would only guarantee the work if i signed up for their monthly service. Reeling from the **** price I asked if I had to decide that now. Their inspector ****** said I could wait up to 30 days. I reached out to her in January for this and never received a response. Since I was not having any issues I did not follow up. On march **************************************************************** the morning I went outside and found the 500$ repair job lying on the ground in my yard. I called critter control and was advised to speak to the technician. I reached out to him and he was very nice and apologetic stating that he should have done a better job. ****** had been fired which is why she never returned my call. I told him I needed it fixed asap and if they could help me out at all since it was had only been a few months. I was told they would see what they could do. They became pretty unresponsive. I offered to get their monthly service, I wasnt opposed to paying for new repairs but I cant and shouldnt have to pay ****$ every few months nor should I really be required to pay a monthly fee for shoddy work. In the end they said wed have to start all over. No one has reached out to me since. This is a predatory business that does c*** work, charges above premium prices then strong arms you into paying a monthly fee. I never received before and after pictures. I cant be sure anything much was done at all.

Hired critter control to treat a gopher and squirrel problem. The first **** was for $798. It was $689 for initial treatment and $109 monthly service to ensure they didn't return. Why was I charged the monthly service fee? Monthly treatments didn't start until the following month.I paid over $3100 for Critter Control for full exclusion repairs to seal up portions of the exterior, which I was told this included painting, so long as I had the paint (which I do), sanitizing and parasite removal. Someone was here for a couple of hours, and the work is very poorly done. My house looks worse then it did. I also don't believe any sanitizing or parasite removal could have possibly been done because the worker had to come and remove the one way door a few days later. How could they disinfect, if the squirrels hadn't left yet?But my main issue is that ****** from Critter Control said when they repaired the damage that they didn't have to go as far down as they thought and I was due a refund of $480. She said they could refund it or use it for woodpecker treatment. I opted for the refund.I was promised in writing this refund in March, and I still don't have it. There is no response to my emails or texts.

Attached are the 2 proposals that ****************** signed, outlining the work that she authorized to perform.  Also attached is the history of payment in which she was charged, as well as the work orders that were completed.  We do not charge a customer until work has been performed.  As you can see, the $489 that ****************** is trying to get a refund on was never completed, therefore it was never charged.  She was only charged for what she signed off on and what was completed totalling $4338.  This includes everything that is itemized on Proposal #2.  Again, the $489 that she is referring to was never charged as it is zeroed out on the proposal, and the workorder was never submitted because the service was declined.  The total of $4338 also includes the initial service on proposal #1, which includes the initial install of any equipment, materials, or anything else the monthly service needs to be initiated as well as administrative fees for setup.  This initial service does not include the first month of service, as it is a separate charge as outlined in the proposal.  Three months of service where performed before ****************** cancelled in which she was not charged again after that last month.

We cannot refund something that was never charged in the first place.  ****************** was told this the multiple times that she reached out.  She was told if it was found that we did overcharge her, we would gladly refund it.  Again, we cannot refund a charge that was never processed.  If it was, the total charged would have been $4827, not $4336.  This is all shown by her payment history, and work order history which again are attached.

I am rejecting this response because:

as I stated in the complaint, the $480 was a verbal/text agreement between ****** and I. I also have the text messages between us, as well as witnesses that were present when ****** originally stated I was due a refund. ****** stated that the work that I was billed for and paid for was less extensive than she had estimated. She gave me the option of using the $480 for either whole house woodpecker treatment or a refund. I opted for the refund. Please review the text messages as ****** clearly stated I would have this months ago. Also, you never addressed the fact that I paid for recurring monthly gopher treatments starting at the same time I paid for the initial treatment. That shouldn't have been charged until the following month. That was an additional $109 plus the $480. Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:
I have not received any refund. The proof of refund given by the company only states that a refund was approved, but does not include any information like the check date or check number. Once I receive the refund, I will definitely close the complaint.
    Sincerely,

Customer paid by check, this has to go through our processing department and sent out.  Check was cut yesterday on 7/5/2022, as we were not open on 7/4/2022.  Usually our refunds go through in 2 - 3 business days with Credit Card, however checks take longer.

Check number is ******** dated 7/5

    Hello,

Please review this documentation more closely, as there is no actual evidence of refund. There is no check number, no date of check or anything specific. It merely says a refund was approved on 6/24/22. Nothing further.

I have not received any refund from the company. They have the correct address on file, *************************************************************** 80905.

Please reopen the case, or contact the company to obtain the refund details. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

As stated in the previous communication I sent to BBB, the check number is 12170379 and is dated 7/5/2022 which is the date it went out.  Address that customer provided has been confirmed.  We are asking for a few more days or so before we put a stop on this check and issue a new one, as it is coming from Georgia.
