1 starWARNING! If your leased modem fails, you absolutely MUST have CenturyLink replace it before ordering an upgrade your internet service. If not done in that order you forfeit the internet access you have paid for until the new upgraded device is installed, in my case, two weeks in the future. You are allowed to have only one order at a time. After more than six hours working with them online and on the phone, I was told that I would need to cancel my upgrade order without a guarantee of getting the same deal or installation date which I had agreed to and that I needed to talk to Service to "see if they will replace the modem". There are no supervisors, managers, or other leadership individuals to speak with at any level of the company organizational structure. The headquarters' customer service number provided on the ******************** site is answered by a company trying to sell you a medical alert system. Note: I have been a CenturyLink customer since **** and this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced from this company.Review fromKaren H

1 starI have tried at least 10 times to resolve a billing dispute since February to no avail. We would not have ended our relationship with this disreputable company if not for their unprofessional and lack of care for our needs that were due to their lack of concern. 1 starWorst customer service ever. After receiving written assurances from Century Link that our new phone plan would permit outgoing calls from a remote cabin, we switched plans in January to this new plan. Occasional cabin use and deep snow in winter prevented us from accessing the phone, but our son (a backcountry skier) reported that the phone would not make outgoing calls over the President's *** weekend (Feb. 21st). We opened up the cabin for summer use this last weekend only to find that we could still not make outgoing calls. Apparently, this has been a problem since we switched plans, notwithstanding Century Link's written representation to me as follows: [Me, in text to them, after my son reported that he could not make outgoing calls]: "So you are confirming that I should have been able to call my home phone from the cabin phone without a problem, right?" Century Link written response: "Yes, that is correct." This exchange occurred on 2/22/22. We opened the cabin over the last weekend. Still cannot make outgoing calls. I called Century Link today and endured endless pre-recorded questions, to which I replied that I needed to speak to an agent. More recorded messages. Three or four times, the message said to hold on if I wanted to speak to an agent. So, with patience running out. that is what I did. Until a pre-recorded message abruptly announced "Good Bye!" Probably a half an hour wasted.If anyone from Century Link sees this, I want a full refund of the monthly charges beginning on January 1st of this year. I have a phone which is there only for emergency use, to call out if needed. I have paid for that, and I have not received a working phone line in return.Review fromsollie g

1 starAVOID AT ALL COST!! The deserve ZERO stars but I was forced to leave 1. Several of our numbers quit working weeks ago and give a message that they have been "disconnected". We are trying to run a business and LUMEN has had a negative impact on us. We have reported the issue a few times and somehow they cannot manage to correct it. They are totally incompetent. We are switching services. Its almost as if the poor service is intentional because its not possible to s**** up as much as they have. I don't understand how they remain in business. 1 starThis company has the worst customer service of any ISP I have experienced. They promised to give us a date to upgrade our internet and then dropped the call and when we eventually got back to another support agent we got a date 3 weeks later than our previous. They also have been charging us for services we had no knowledge of totaling about $1,800 in the five years we've had them. I would not recommend this to anyone who isn't forced to use it.Review fromLee M

1 starI've been a century link customer for 5 years. I had a home landline because I was supposed to work from home. That job opportunity did not manifest, So at the beginning of February I called to cancel the home phone line and also something called an ease service which I think helps you with service calls. The 1st person trying to remove it but it did not come along and I finally got in touch with someone else who said they could take care of it but there was a glitch with the system and they were unable to do it. So for the 4 months I've been told the end of May I was always waiting for them to reduce the charges to show exactly what was oh because they could not get the billing correct it and take off the services that I no longer wanted.. I was told that there was a glitch with the system and that I should cancel my current account and open it in one. I did that and as of yesterday I was told my order was complete I got my new modem and I should set it up. I set it up still to have no ***************** I started making calls 11 AM today and I just got off the phone finally With no resolve. Supposedly something in my order was not done correctly. I was on one phone call for 60 minutes Another for over 45 minutes and in several chats and other smaller communications throughout the day. I have a phone log and emails from where my billing was being corrected every month so that I would know exactly what I owe because they could not take off the services that I had tried to cancel.. I am sincerely upset that now I must go the whole weekend with no Internet because of someone else's errors. Not to mention that every month I have to be in contact with someone so that they would get rid of these for billing that did not belong there because they could not rectify I rectify it on their end. The time that I wasted is crazy. The fact that I'm sitting here today with no **************** throughout the weekend and it's Friday it's very upsetting. To make matters worse 1st I was told that my service was not activated and I need to talk to a care specialist And then I was told that there was some additional programming that needed to be done on the century and endReview fromCallie C

1 starTerrible service, on the business and personal side. On the buisiness side, i tried to get VOIP service but that was a total mess. they never sent us phones, they added 2 lines without our consent and then when i tried to follow up (multiple times) they "could never find my account information". We found other VOIP service and when we called to get Port over information they told us we would lose our internet speed if we changed anything. After calling as a "new" customer, i was told i could get the same speed without phone service. On the personal side, they will confirm your appointment, then a tech will never show up. you wont hear anything from them ever again. you will waste weeks of your life trying to get the service (that you never had) cancelled and refunded. 1 starI have spent over 40 hours either on your online chat or on your phone service trying to get a hold of agents to resolve my problem due to your negligence my internet was shut off and it's been over a week I've been waiting on a technician to show up to fix my internet it says they showed up at 7:08 this morning and they still don't have Internet working at my residence and I still cannot get a hold of anybody and every time I do they say the problem was resolved yet it is not resolved Upon not receiving an email or paper **** for over 6 months my internet was shut off and all I needed is simply turned back on upon paying all of my past due balances and a $50 reconnection fee it's still been over a week that I am without my internet I need my internet to power my security system and I cannot leave my house because of this if this is not resolved and I am not fairly compensated for my trouble I will be seeking legal helpReview fromSue O.

1 starI called CenturyLink and spoke with ***** in sales team who advised I would have my internet installed on 5/2/2022. The gentleman/technician came by and told us he could not install as he had personal matters and just left... before leaving, he asked me to reschedule another appointment. I called and scheduled another appointment and confirmed my appointment same day on 5/17/2022, I waited all day as they told me they would come by anywhere between 8:00 AM PST - 5:00 PM PST and they do not have an exact time frame. Nobody showed up. As frustrated as it was at the time, I thought I should give them another chance since I am very understanding that things do happen, so I called to reschedule. I rescheduled for 5/27/2022 and again, confirmed with them over the phone morning of 5/27/2022 to make sure my appointment is still scheduled for that day as I knew I have to wait a full day at home, I was told it is. Around approximately 3:30 PM PST, I called as no one showed up. I was told, my appointment was never scheduled for 5/27/2022. At this point, I asked them I have been extremely patient with them and asked them if it is possible to schedule as a courtesy next day 5/28/2022 since I have been waiting and it is clear that they have some internal issues and it is not the client's fault they did not show up. They told me the next available date isn't until 6/1/2022. I asked them to schedule me for that date. 6/1/2022 nobody showed up. I called afternoon of 6/1/2022 and they scheduled me for 6/2/2022. I called in the morning approx 10:30 AM PST and confirmed they will be arriving on 6/2/2022. I just called them at approx 12:30 PM PST to check in they said "field has an error". Spoke with ******* and ****** supervisor. , and was told they have some issues and in fact did not schedule me for 6/2/2022 and that the agent I spoke with previously must be wrong. I have been trying to install my internet service for the past 30 days. Beware and stay away, place is a complete JOKE
