I purchased a vehicle from unlimited auto sales that had issues almost immediately. I took it to them over and over to be repaired because my check engine light kept coming on. They would fix ******* things, clear the code and send me on my way, but the engine light would keep coming back on. I told them several times that I felt it was the engine because of how the car was riding and jerking etc. and they kept telling me it wasnt. I had to keep taking it to them as my vehicle was under warranty. Finally last year my engine light came on again so I had a different mechanic look at it and tell me what was wrong and then took it to unlimited auto and told them what the other mechanic said. They really couldnt lie at that point and said that my engine needed to be rebuit. They claimed to have done the work and collected money from me as well as the warranty company. Less than a year later my engine light comes on again and my engine is smoking under the hood. I had auto zone hook it up to their reader and I had multiple cylinders misfiring. I towed it to unlimited auto again and they had my vehicle for a week and claimed they couldnt find out why it was misfiring. Claimed to have checked everything including spark plugs and coils. My warranty expired and they basically told me to take it to a **** dealership. So I did and now Im having to spend almost 10k to repair the engine including spark plugs when it was supposedly already repaired. My new mechanic is stating that there is no way the engine was rebuilt like unlimited claimed. On top of it all I was over changed for the purchase of this car by several thousands dollars and didnt realize it until it was too late and I already owned the vehicle. I feel as through Ive been completely scammed.Business response

Hello *******,
I have spoken with my service advisors and tracked down all of our records on the Jeep that ******* purchased.
******* purchased a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee on 8/12/2022 with ****** miles. Shortly after the sale (9/3/2022 with *******), the check engine light came on and we replaced an oil pressure sensor and an intake manifold gasket. We did not charge the customer for this $569.36 invoice.
The next record for that vehicle was on 2/03/2023 and the vehicle had ******* miles. For that service, we completed a warranty claim and replaced an oil pump. The customer's responsibility on that claim was only $77.80 (taxes and fluids) and the warranty paid $1434.27.
The following record was on 10/10/2023 with ******* miles. This was a large service but again, the vast majority was covered by the warranty ($4314.26) and the customer responsibility was $715.31 for taxes, fluids, AC recharge and her deductible. This service included items like Rockers, Cam Follower, Multiple Cam Shafts, Timing Chain Guide Rail, Valve Cover Gasket, Crankcase Gasket, Radiator Plastic Tank and an AC Recharge.
On 10/17/2023 (******* miles) we replaced an Engine Thermostat and on 12/29/2023 with ******* we replaced a thermostat housing assembly. The cost to the customer for those two services was $398.34. We discounted the second service by $125.
The last visit here was in August of 2024 to diagnose a potential misfire in bank two. We were unable to replicate and diagnose this issue and referred ******* to the Jeep dealership and told her to report back to us what Jeep finds.
******* claims that she had the vehicle in with us over and over but that is not true. She had one repair here a few weeks after the sale that we paid for, after that, her first repair back with us was almost 6 months post sale with almost 7k additional miles (2/3/2023 with ******* miles) on the vehicle. The next repair after that was 10 months and ****** miles later. That is 14 months and 20k miles past the sale. This was a major service but it was at no point communicated to the customer that this was an engine rebuild.
After the last visit in August of this year, she threatened legal action against us and wrote bad reviews everywhere that she could. At this point, we are over 2 years and over 40k miles removed from the sale of the vehicle. We have no control over how the vehicle is driven or cared for by the customer.
Thank you for taking the time to look into this issue. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
