      I bought a new top for my JL and paid additional have it installed by one of their reps. ** has never been right, it rattles awfully and one if the struts was bent and keeps popping off. I tried their support team just for them to tell me it would be over $600 to fix, when I pushed for warranty they stopped responding. The product is not great and the support is awful, I wish there were an alternative for Jeep tops.

      They do not stand by their product. The vinyl window on my jeep top cracked within 2 years and they made every excuse that they could to not replace it.

      Hello,

      I have conducted a thorough review of your recent case, documented as CASE143049. Upon examining the photographs you submitted, it is evident that the issue falls under the classification of a cold crack, which does not constitute a manufacturing defect. Typically, such defects would manifest within 30 days of receipt of the item or at the time of delivery.

      I acknowledge that you reside in *******, where daytime temperatures can exceed 70 degrees. However, it is important to note that nighttime temperatures may drop to as low as 45 degrees during rain or 60 degrees on clear days. Excessive pressure applied to the windows can lead to cracks developing in the center of vinyl windows. In contrast, if this were a defect, we would anticipate the issue to occur along the seams, indicating seam failure.

      Please be advised that damages resulting from weather-related conditions are excluded from coverage under our warranty policy. Nevertheless, to alleviate any inconvenience you may be experiencing, we are prepared to extend a 10% discount on the purchase of a new window. While it is our usual policy not to offer discounts on individual parts, we are willing to make an exception in this instance.

      I ordered a CJ7 chair - black denim with gray insert. Trailmax II Pro Front Passenger Seat - Jeep 1976-86 CJ7; 1987-95 Wrangler YJ; 1997-06 Wrangler TJ is the title. Got the chair delivered. Opened it and it was 100% gray and looked nothing like what I ordered. Emailed customer service and they admitted that the real life version doesn't look like what's on line (see below). So, I sent it back. They penalized me $60 because I had opened the box. Seriously?? That's their fault, not mine, that they are either incompetent or falsely advertising. I don't mind the mistake, but don't penalize me. Here is their customer service response when I told them the chair looked nothing like what is on line. Will never order from them again From: ********************** M Sent: 05/14/2024 Subject: Bestop Order ****** Color Discrepancy Hello, It looks like you ordered black denim; unfortunately, with this color, it is more like a washed pair of black jeans and is not a true jet-black color. I did go ahead and have my quality department pull this same seat to double check and it is the same as the seat in the photos you sent.

      The customer brought this issue to our attention prior to writing this review and he was fully refunded for his purchase and was not charged a "$60 penalty". The color of the seat is called Black Denim, because it is not a true black, and the pictures on our website accurately reflect the true color of the product.

      Products from them are not correct for vehicles they say they are. Example- My jeep Wrangler is a factory soft top and the Trektop ( one of their most expensive tops) only works if your jeep came with a factory hardtop because of necessary hardware that comes with the hardtop. The Fitment guide that you fill out shows that it will fit a soft top. They make no provisions to install the top any other way than with the hardtop brackets. Their answer to this. Go to the Jeep dealer and order the Hardtop brackets. Pay $129 for the brackets and bolts then wait 2 weeks for them to come in while you vehicle sits there unusable or completely disassemble the halfway installed unit (about 2 hours) put it back in the box and ship it back to them (at your cost) and pay a 20% restocking fee?

      Hello *****,

      I hope you are doing well. I wanted to provide you with some information regarding the Trektop, which is one of the all-inclusive soft tops that Bestop offers at a starting price of under $1000. Unfortunately, we are unable to lower the price at this time.

      I would like to explain that Bestop works with Mopar as a partnership, and they have certain parts that are assembled onto Jeep Wranglers that we do not offer. Mopar also sets its own pricing, which we have no control over.

      If a Jeep Wrangler has a dual top option, the original owner can opt out of those OE parts if they choose only one top. If the part is missing from the *** requirements and not our aftermarket product, we have no way of supplying it. If this is the case, it would be best to bring up the issue with the seller of the Jeep, who would have been the ones to either remove the part or point out any missing parts.

      In cases where the part was not missing from the Bestop package and the item received was whole, we must stick to our return policy, which includes a processing fee of 20% if the item has been installed and is not restockable.

      Bestop claims they have the best Warranty in the industry... BUYERS BEWARE. They have quite an impressive list of complaints on BBB. Nice work Bestop.My Review... Well they discontinued a Tan colored twill NX Glide top that has a lifetime warranty. My back window seam came apart after 3 years. I call them they tell me the Tan tops are discontinued, but it is no problem to warranty the back window... They offer me two choices...1. Buy a complete Black Twill complete top for 15% off retail which came to $1,617.64. 2. Warranty the back window and then buy the other individual black pieces to match for $1,689.52 What a racket, They inflate the individual piece price so much that you are forced to buy a new complete top for slightly less $$. Such a dishonest practice. In addition, they sold 2 complete tops to me in 3 years and did not have to warranty one piece. That is the best warranty in the industry? Sounds like there are some shinanigins going on at Bestop...I feel Bestop owes me an addtional 25% off the price of the new complete top. This is simply bad business and poor customer service. I will continue to pass on this experience... And of course will never buy another top from Bestop.

      ** * Purchased the softopper 2 for a road trip. It was a pain to install but eventually it worked out. I do not like that the new topper has no rollup rear window.. nothing to tie it down with.. you simply must remove it completely.. that's my fault in not knowing prior to ordering. It did it's job reasonably, that was to keep water and prying eyes off my gear during the trip. My main complaint comes from the fact that I have purchased a new vehicle. Tacoma with 5ft bed to zr2 with a 5 ft bed. I contacted customer service for assistance - need to know how to make the topper fit my new rig. Boxes are nearly identical and seems all I would need is new mounting hardware and I got next to nothing from anyone there as far as fitment or instructions. Terrible customer service. They should have informed me of the hardware they sell for the zr2 mounting and I would have purchased it. They did not need to promise fitment. But it was like pulling teeth to get ANY sort of information on what parts are available and how to go about ordering them. In sum, terrible customer service ruins the interaction for me -- and the product itself is just okay. I would not order again. I certainly would not recommend after experiencing the customer service. Spend the extra dough and get yourself a hard top from a reputable seller. They could have simply tried to help a customer out by having my try using updated mounting hardware for fitment but they were too lazy or unwilling to help. Better yet, send me the hardware free of cost to see if it works (it's probably cheap!.. if it's anything like that used on the tacoma) and perhaps I'd be rocking the topper yet today. Instead I'll sell it cheap like garbage on ******** and never buy from them again.

      On 9/06/203 the customer purchased a Supertop for Truck ****************** Tacoma. All our products are engineered to fit by make,model and year for all automobile manufacturers, such as ************* GM, Chevrolet,etc. On 10/21/23 at 1:11 PM we received the following inquiry from ****************:
      I recently ordered a bestop supertop for trucks 2 through affirm finance. My email used was *************************** I have sold the 2008 Tacoma I purchased it for and purchased a ***** Colorado also with a 5 foot bed.
      I want to see if you can help me get mounting hardware for my bestop that will work with my new truck?

      To which we responded on 10/24/23 at 2:46 PM:

      As the top you have is made for a 2005-2023 ****** Tacoma I am unable to advise how to modify this product to fit your new ***** Colorado as any modifications void the warranty. I can however send you the installation instructions for both tops and any parts you would like to purchase can be ordered by calling us at at ************ Monday- Friday 8-4 MST.

      Are you able to confirm the dimensions of both toppers are the same?  The beds are the same size between the two trucks which would leave me to believe the toppers would consequently be the same in size as well.  But I would like to have that confirmed by the manufacturer.

       As they are different toppers I cannot confirm that they are the same dimensions. I can however tell you that I did have a customer who modified the Tacoma Supertop For Truck 2 to fit his 5 ft Sierra.

      The above represents all interactions **************** had with our customer service team.  As you can see, all responses were completed in a timely manner, as well as providing him with all information that we can supply to a customer.  He had purchased a top for a ****** and decided to modify a product specifically engineered to fit a ****** Tacoma to try and fit a Chevrolet Colorado, which we do not advise, and for liability reasons we cannot assist a customer who decides to make modifications to our product.

      By far the WORST experience I have ever had in ordering a ***********.. The aggravation between ****************************** who gave several excuses on were the parts was. Bestop NEVER email or call me back after stating they will FOUR times. I finally spoke with a supervisor ****** who specifically stated she WILL call or email me back on status, she did not.5th call I requested a refund & was advised they will process it once they can confirm the parts us returned and not damaged (WHAT? THIS IS NOT THE CUSTOMERS PROBLEM!)7-10 business to process a refund, after waiting just as long for the part that never arrived..This is my first and LAST dealing with this company, "WORSTOP" Suits their name better.

      I ordered the twill bed cover for our gladiator. Ordered it in the middle of winter so the Warranty is no longer in effect. Since we've put it in it spends 90%of the time in the garage. The bracket to hold them on don't get right enough so that the corners flap when we drive down the road. I spoke with someone yesterday after waiting 20 minutes on the phone, he was going to send me an email that I could send back with a picture. I didn't get it.

      I ordered a half top from this company. The pictures showed it with a full top, so I thought that is what I was getting. After receiving the half top I returned it same day - perfect condition - I didn't even take it out of the box. They charged me a 15% restock fee, which they say will only be taken if it can't be sold again. It was in PERFECT condition. I called customer care they said there is not ANYTHING they can do. Horrible company - false advertising, do not buy from them.

      The customer purchased the top online through our website on 4/11/2023 and when it was received, he realized he had purchased the wrong product for his Jeep.  When discussing this with our representative he indicated that he wanted to return this product and purchase the correct product.  At that time, he was informed of our return policy, which is as follows:
      What is our return policy?
      All returns must go through your point of purchase, therefore we can only process returns purchased through Bestop directly. If within the first 30 days, Bestop will provide a shipping label for the return. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee, which is determined by our quality team once the package arrives. To return a purchase, you will need your Order Number ready to start the return process. The RMA number given by a representative is essential to be sure the return is done in a timely manner.  
      We also indicated that if he purchased the correct product for his Jeep and if he was charged with a 15% restock fee, we would discount the new purchase by 15%.  When the return was received and inspected by our quality team, it was received damaged and had to be scrapped,so we charged the restock fee on the returned order. At this point in time, the customer has not purchased the product he indicated that he wanted to purchase,but if he does so in the next 30 days, we will honor the 15% discount on that product

      Thank you for your reply - I do appreciate that. It is hard for me to believe that the product was damaged and had to be trashed. I opened the box, realized what had happened and closed and sealed the box. I didn't even take the parts out of the box. If the product was damaged, it happened in transit, not by me handling it. I do appreciate the 15% offer on my next purchase - but there are other customers who have posted about the same problem - the re-stocking fee is not a fair business practice unless the customer tries out the product, removes it and sends it back with obvious ware.and tear. Thank you for your time.

      I ordered my parts back on November 18th 2022. I was told that some of my parts were in stock so they would come earlier then the one item that was on backorder. On 1/23/2023 I received a call saying my order is ready to ship. On 1/30/2022 I still have not received my tracking information, and they are charging me a second time when this order was paid in full upon order.Their products are amazing , however their customer service is horrible. Now I am being told that it was never going to be shipped in separate shipments. and they still cannot give me any tracking info. In Addition to that they can't seem to add my order to reflect on my account. This company is completely unprofessional.
