    From 2019-2022, New Direction Trust Company mailed an invoice to me every May (to be paid by May 31) to cover the costs, for the ensuing year, for administrative fees, and depository fees, for precious metals being held in a ***************. Beginning in 2023, the invoice mailed did not include the fee for the depository. No other invoice was ever mailed. This again occurred in 2024, when it was called to my attention that I had late fees that had been accumulating, although I had never received another paper invoice. Neither had I received any communication about this being a change to their system, nor made aware that the only way to see this would be through their portal. As these fees accrued over a years time, no effort was made to reach out, either by mail or by phone. New Direction Trust Company then took it upon themselves to liquidate my precious metals in order to pay off my late fees. Again, no attempt was ever made to communicate with me, in writing or by phone. They simply took my funds. Their perspective is that I should have been watching the portal, as they are attempting to go paperless. So why, if only one invoice is sent out yearly, does it not include all the charges for the entire year? And why would they not communicate with a client, by mail or by phone, about a transaction that involves liquidation of that clients assets? This year, 2024, was an exact repeat, with only one invoice sent - again, not including all fees. The portal says the depository fee is due, but a paper invoice was never sent. These assets were set up in a depository, administered by New Direction Trust Company, to be protected and grown, not stolen. Without communication telling me to regularly monitor their portal, I simply expected to get my yearly invoice, which I had paid every year, in full, up to that point. There should have been no need to watch the portal, as those assets were not active in anyway, nor are they accessible to me for years to come.

    I want to commend your employee ************************ for the excellent job she did while working with me on my confusing withdrawal of some of my *** account today July 8, 2024.I am hearing impaired and she never once became impatient with me when I had to have her repeat herself several times while I was asking questions about the procedure. Often times people get annoyed because they have to take the time to repeat themselves when working with handicapped customers. ***** NOT ONCE was impatient with me and I truly appreciated it. She took the time to explain herself (and spoke louder and slower) for each question I had. The world needs more caring, considerate people in it like ***********************. Thank you for making my experience run smoothly and efficiently today. Gratefully yours, ***************************** P.S. If you had 10 stars she would have earned all ten (10) of them!
