In May of this year, we hired DiGiorgi to replace the windows on our condominium unit. One of the contingencies per our HOA approving this window installation was an agreement to communicate and coordinate services between DiGiorgi and our HOA's new vinyl siding installer, ******** **********. DiGiorgi continues to claim that they did contact ******** but cannot seem to produce evidence that they did when asked for proof. Because there was no communication, we were sued by our HOA and their remodeler for $3,880. The absolute worst. It was in the working contract that they would communicate with ********. Cannot say how blind sided and upset we were by this.

      Business response

      10/17/2023

In response to the complaint filed by Mr. ****** I am hoping this is a big misunderstanding because all parties involved were aware that a third party would come in after we finished our window install to remove and reinstall any necessary siding as well as exterior window trim. Our sales consultant Karen G****** originally met only with ***** ********  back in September of 2022 so maybe the time lapse is a cause for some of the confusion.

        1. On page one of our contract it states: that Homeowner will be billed separately by ******** ********** the siding contractor as stated in note #1 below

        2. Karen had more than one email correspondence with ***** ******** regarding the fact that a third party contractor was chosen by the Condominium Association to remove and reinstall the siding as you will see in Note #2 below

        3. The fact that Mr. ****** claims he is being sued by his homeowners association is just not correct. I am assuming that the invoice he is receiving is the invoice to remove and reinstall the siding by the third party contractor that all parties were fully aware of.

         4. Weather we notified the third party contractor or not is the biggest misunderstanding of all due to it being a moot point. The fact is  that their job was to remove and reinstall siding and trim as needed and their job would be and was identical weather we called them ahead or not. However our field supervisor ***** B***** did call ******** and gave the information to a representative of ******** where he in turn said we are all set.  (we did not think it important at the time to record a name). At the time of the install a ******** representative showed up on site and discussed with our crew leader Justin C**** a tentative completion date. He then took some pictures, made a material list, and we believe handed a report to ***** ******** (this fact I am not sure of but it was said to me that way so I state it here)

      Note #1
******** ***** CONDO COMPLEX: - CONDO ASSOC REQUIRES FULL FRAME INSTALLATION WITH EBONY EXTERIOR AND EXTERIOR FACTORY BRICKMOLD - MGMT COMPANY REQUIRES ******** ********** TO BE NOTIFIED TO REMOVE AND THEN REINSTALL THE NEW VINYL SIDING - DIGIORGI IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEHOMEOWNER IS BILLED BY ******** FOR THE SIDING WORK.

Note #2  ******** was contracted by the Board to install new siding and was responsible to remove/reinstall the siding and the customer was fully aware there would be a separate charge/billed directly to the homeowner. I had a couple email exchanges with ***** asking if he received the price from ******** yet because I will be quoting another job in the complex.  He said he did not hear back from them yet and would keep trying.

On May 27, 2022 we signed a contract and gave a deposit on a new entry door, with sidelights and transom. The installation was to be approximately 12-14 weeks which would bring us to mid to end of August. On August 18th I spoke with customer service and was told it would be a few more weeks. On September 8th I contacted the salesman to see what the holdup was and when he got back to me he said the project had been pushed out to the end of October because they were waiting on materials. I again contacted the salesman on November 2nd and the order was still on hold waiting on materials and again pushed out to the beginning of December. At this point we are now at week 26 with winter approaching rapidly and no idea if this will even now happen before spring. IF that is the case, it will have taken 10-12 months, which is an incredibly long time. Unless we contact DiGiorgi, there has been no communication from them at all regarding updates or even an apology that it's taking so long. We had intentions of possibly hiring them for another project but that seems highly unlikely at this point.

Hello Mrs. ********, I am looking to see if the entry door has arrived, if it has we will arrange to install right away. If it has not arrived as of yet I will get some answers on why. I am sorry for the lack of communication but I will follow up with you until the job is completed.

      Better Business,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. I also received a call from the company and was told that after further investigating, the door is scheduled to be delivered to them next week (Dec. 7th).  They will contact me as soon as that happens to schedule the installation.  I appreciate the immediate response from the window and door manager at DiGiorgi on this matter.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ********

I answered an add by DiGiogi Roofing and Siding for 50% off fencing. On 4/30/22, met with representative from DiGiorgi, was given free assessment and quoted $14,000.00 for materials and labor. The amount seemed hefty but I went along with it because it was being financed. The representative stated the work would take 4-8 weeks. Since signing the contact for the loan approval, this company has never contacted us in person or in writing expressing there was a delay in getting the materials. This information was provided to us because I called. This lack of communication has been ongoing and still exists. On 8/12/22, materials were left in the yard with a promise to start the work on Monday, 8/15/22. On that date, two men came by but said the were missing materials and left. The company did not contact us or gave an explanation why the work could not begin with whatever was delivered...once again, the lack of communication and being taken for granted. I spoke with someone at DiGiorgi who stated someone should have explained what was going on. He stayed the materials are in-stock, work should begin on Thursday/Friday. Today is Friday, 8/19/22 and I have not seen or heard from anyone. I do no wish to do business with this company and I would like them to remove the materials they left in my backyard. I feel we are being held hostage to poor overpriced service ****** ****

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

They have agreed to reduce the amount from $14,000.00 to $13,000.00. The work has begun

      Sincerely,
