I purchased a vehicle from this dealership and I drove it for approximately 2 months. The car was purchased on 10/6/22 and the engine seized sometime in the beginning of December of 22. After getting it towed to a mechanic it was said a starter was need and after it was installed I was told the engine was seized. After the warranty company sent an adjuster they said it was a recall on the car which is a 2015 *** ******. Through the *** dealership I learned there was a recall since 2020 on the car. I didn’t qualify for the recall due to the engine seizing. The warranty company and *** told me that the car should’ve have been serviced before selling it to me. I was unaware of the recall nor was I told about it when I purchased the car. Since then I have lost my job, I paid 1000 down payment for the car plus payments to the bank for that will total to 12,000. They refuse to take responsibility for selling me a car that they claimed to have serviced beforehand. They won’t help me with any thing claiming there is nothing they can do for me and now I’m stuck in debt and jobless paying a car they sold me that is now inoperable after 2 months of use.

We did everything in our power to help thid customer with this situation. The car was serviced and safety checked at the time of sale . The customer should have received a recall card from *** after the car was registered . Not sure if he did or not, but it is a very unfortunate situation. We tried to talk to the warranty company , they want nothing to do with it. Customer could request refund on warranty , and use that money to fix the vehicle. We understand his frustration but its out of our hands.

I purchased a 2014 ****** ****** on 8/3/2022 from CT Auto. I am the owner/ ****** ****** was co-signer. The salesman & owner Nate indicated there were no issues w/ the car & that the tires were relatively new. My mom & I contacted the following morning as the car was making a load knocking noise & pulling. We were told this would be a priority. It has been 2 months with no call back. Each email that was sent has been returned with the following message: Thank you for your inquiry and interest in one of our vehicles. We appreciate the opportunity to earn your business and will contact you as soon as possible. If you need immediate assistance and its within our scheduled business hours please call ***** ********. Thanks Again, CT Auto The owner finally reached out asking for my phone number which he already had. I provided it to him again but he did not return calls & emails. Even the plates arrived after the temporary reg had expired. The car was brought to ****** on 8/22 as that was their first available service date. ****** indicated there were significant issues with the front end, the tires were not new, & the car needed an alignment. Since I had purchased a warranty, ****** contacted the ********* Insurance Company. An adjuster came out & said none of the issues would be covered as this was due to heavy duty wear & tear from previous owner & that the issues caused the need for alignment & tires. The following is what was replaced & serviced on my car: rear bulb, one strut overhaul, coil spring mount, wheel alignment, & ball joint. I was advised to replace the bald "not new" tires in the next few month which I have not as I do not have the money to do so. If this was not all horrific enough, I did not receive my car back from ****** as parts had to be ordered and I lost out on employment offered to me during the 40 days as I did not have a working car. More importantly, I was unable to start graduate school the last week of August.

This car was sold AS-IS , being that it was over 6 years old. Customer was also offered an extended warranty, which she did purchase, incase of any mechanical issues in the future . She clearly states the car was covered by ****** at no cost , so im not sure what the complaint is about. The tires were good, car passed ** safety inspection at the time of sale. They were not unsafe, if she chooses to change for any reason , that is up to her. We also are NOT responsible for getting her son to school in a timely manner incase car ever needed repair, so that complaint is also a moot subject .

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because I was told the car was in good working condition with "relatively new tires".  This morning I found the receipt for the "new" tires from the previous owner that were purchased and installed on 6/15/2019. These tires are over 3 years old and that is not relatively new. There was much wrong with the car within 24 hours of leaving CT Auto. This list includes:  replacement of coil spring front, strut mount front, one strut overhaul, bolt flange, ball joint CP, cotter pin, nut castle, and rear driver's bulb.  This does not include the need for new tires. The warranty I purchased was for unexpected issues, not issues that were there and are considered wear and tear.  Additionally, I would like to see a copy of the CT State Inspection. This car was falsely advertised and sold dishonestly. This business should have to pay and be put on notice.  This is not only for me but for all potential customers.  It is not ok to let businesses in CT to be running a shoddy and dishonest operation like this one. It is the customer who suffers.

      Sincerely,

      **** *****

We also reject the accusations . This car was NOT unsafe , it was road ready. It is a used car , customer could have opted to have his/her own mechanic inspect the vehicle prior to purchasing a vehicle AS-IS. Customer test drive and obviously didn’t see any obvious issues prior to signing all documents as-is . ****** dealers will always try and up sell a customer for all things NOT “PERFECT”. I’m sorry you are not totally satisfied with your USED 11 year old vehicle , but we did nothing wrong and did not misrepresent anything .
