On 4/13 I received a credit alert notification that this company had added a collection account to all three credit bureaus. I never received any letters or correspondences or efforts to collect from this company otherwise. I ******* the name and found their phone number and spoke to an agent and learned it was for a medical procedure I had. My concern is that I never received any debt validations or notifications prior to Eastern Accounts dropping a negative report to my credit file. Once I confirmed with my insurance company that the outstanding balance was legitimate, I contacted this company again and stated I wanted to pay in full and have the collection account removed from my credit report. I had perfect credit prior to this with a score over 800, it is now 710. They stated they would just remark it paid in full and cannot remove it. My concern is how they violated FCRA regulations by not notifying me prior to dropping a negative on my credit report. I pay my bills, my credit is perfect and this company is ruining my perfect credit by not following the proper regulations and protocols for validating and collecting debt. Today on 4/14, I reached out to the original medical practice with the outstanding balance and paid them in full. I want this item removed from my credit report or I will take further action and continue to highlight their improper practices through all means available through the BBB, FCRA, social media, ********* ********* **********, etc. This is not acceptable.

As we mentioned on the phone, we did send you a letter on January 24th to the address on this complaint notifying you of the debt as well as placed calls to the phone numbers provided by the client.  Since we did not hear back it was listed with the credit bureaus.

The credit bureaus in conjunction with the federal government, have decided to clear all paid in full medical debts from consumers credit files this July, so it shouldn't appear long.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I did not receive a single letter from Eastern Accounts. Nor did I ever speak to them on the phone prior to the negative reports on my credit reports.  This does not follow proper protocol and is a FCRA violation.  Given this, I want this information removed from my credit reports by Eastern Accounts, regardless of what is going to happen on July 1.

      Sincerely,

I applied for a loan last December 2021 but got denied. I ordered my credit report and just to discover there inaccurate items such as accounts I did not opened, addresses I never resided, inquiries I never made and even iterations of my name. Eastern Account System of Connecticut is acting as a debt collector for a healthcare provider and has sent multiple notices or collections to my dad. He has attempted to resolve the original cause of the issue. Through a number of contacts with the original provider, we have gotten the issue resolved. I, on his behalf, have been working on getting this done. I spoke with this debt collector today to confirm that they had been informed the matter had been settled and to receive a written confirmation that the prior notices they have sent could be disregarded. I was told that the debt collector no longer represents the medical provider and has no way to provide anything in writing to confirm there is no open collection activity by them or that the prior letters they sent could be disregarded. I am only asking for some written confirmation but they refused and insist there is nothing they can provide.

We no longer work for the provider on the letter.  All inventory and further account info has been pulled.

this account #******** was opened on 02/18/2021 without my permission and inserted on my credit report for $200.00 dollars. This is considered fraud and is a violation of my rights as a consumer. also this company never validated this account with supporting evidence as mentioned under 15 usc 1692g I want this account to be removed as soon as possible from all credit reporting agencies including Experian, Equifax and Transunion. I also demand $1,000 per occurrence for the violation mentioned above.

We sent multiple letters to the address on this complaint and multiple phone calls to the number on file.  We were never asked for validation.  We would be happy to supply it.

This account was paid and closed years ago. The company has recorded calls and I called and recorded the call myself and the company could not find my ss number address name or any info about me because it was deleted. Yet still shows on my report when it was in fact paid closed and deleted. I have the letter about the pay for delete from the company as well.

Could you please provide payment proof?  Neither we nor the creditor show any payment.  We spoke to you a week ago only and advised as such.

On 2/12 I noticed two credit collections reported from eastern account on behalf of frontier communications. one for 84.00 and one for 100.00 I called in to see what they were about and they were unable to match my birthday or my address to the account, even though they were able to place on my credit report. However since it was only $184 and my credit is important to me, i said well ill just pay this money even though it cant be verified to me if you can remove it from my reports. the lady stated that she cannot do that. However looking through their complaints on line it seems they do it for multiple customers. i guess it just depends on what mood they are in that way. I am asking that these accounts be removed from my credit reports ASAP, or i will have to take action according to the **** and **** that all accounts must be verifiable and accurate. its obvious this isnt verifiable or accurate since they cant match my birthdate or address to this account. I can be contacted at ************ to discuss further also the account can be pulled up through my phone number.

Not sure we are understanding.  We have both your dob and ss#.  If we didn't, it wouldn't have credit reported at all.  We cannot pay for deletion, it violates our contract with our clients as well as the credit bureaus.  If it says differently online, that is a mistake, not depending on our mood.  We can update the entries as pif though and we can call you if you wish.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: If you go back and listen to the recording of the phone conversation this morning, when i provided my DOB, the rep says " that doesn't match" so i provide address as asked she again says " that doesn't match" then she asks for last four to verify. however the **** doesn't state that one thing has to be correct. it states that all information must be accurate. it is obvious according to the phone recording that yall have, and i have as well that my address and DOB doesn't match what yall have for my address and DOB, therefore this account must be removed from my credit report ASAP, or i will be entitled to damages according the the ****, and the ***** This also brings up the issue of Eastern Account mailing the notifications to me, well since the address you have isnt my address and never has been my address how can you say you sent me the documentation proving this account? ive lived at the same address for three years now, and this account is not three years old. another violation. we can keep the list of violations going and file a complaint with the **** and seek damages, or Eastern account can listen to the recording of the phone conversation this morning from around 7:15 am PST and admit they are wrong and do the right thing.

In regards to the Pay for deletion, please look at the BBB complaint filed on 1/05/2022 where your response as a company was "Since you made a payment within 30 days, we will send this for removal.  Please allow 4 weeks for it to show.  Please answer the bbb that you are satisfied"  this popped up on my reports on 2/12 today is 2/14 and i was willing to Pay even though it is a inaccurate reporting account for the sake of my credit report. However since that was denied, we have to go the hard route.

      Sincerely,

      **** *******

We can and do remove any entry from credit reporting that was in error.  If you did not receive our letters (they weren't forwarded) we can send for removal from the credit report.   You can call in and pay with our manager Becky at ************ **** if you so choose.  That will prevent any future action on the account by direction of the creditor.  We will send for removal now regardless so please allow approximately 4 weeks for the removal to show.

I have reached out to Eastern Account System to pay off a debt and requested it be removed from my credit report at the Bureau level. I was informed of the settlement amount of $675.33 and offered to pay $655 to settle the debt. The representative declined my payment. After explaining my current financial situation (due to COVID) I explained the payment was only a $20 difference and pleaded to accept the payment but was declined again. I have not received a notice or any inquiries regarding the debt from Eastern Account System. In fact, when I noticed the debt on my credit report I called and spoke to a representative (earlier in the month) and she confirmed there was 1 notice sent to an address in a City/State where I have not resided and am not associated with. I am doing my best to resolve the debt however I am being met with opposition and disregard from the company.

As we explained on the phone, this bill in question is actually $900.44.  The lowest our client will take to settle in full is $675.33.  It isn''t our decision.  We wish we could go lower.

I am rejecting this response because:

The representative I spoke with initially (the week prior) indicated $765.37 as the settlement amount. As I explained this is all the money I have as I my company has laid hundreds of employees off. I was hoping to settle this debt with my final payment at $655.

This is the only time in the foreseeable future that I will be able to clear this debt. Can you text out to the company and ask if an expecting can be made for the balance due?

      Sincerely,

      ******* *****

      Business response

      02/14/2022

Correct, the initial offer was higher.  That's what they usually allow.  We had to get permission for the $675.  It is just $20 higher.  Please consider paying this and we will close out the account right away.  Believe us, we wish we could just accept the $655 but we have to answer to the client.

Notice received on September 23, 2021 for a paid in full of account. In the amount of $139. I was lied to saying the debt would be resolved if paid in full but they refused to delete the account off of my credit Simply because I asked to speak to a supervisor

As we explained on the phone, we are unable to delete an account when it is paid late, we mark it as paid in full.  It is a violation of our agreement with the credit bureaus to do pay for deletion arrangements unless some mistake was made.
