The company visited my property on December 7, 2022 and gave me an estimate of $1,500 to spray our hemlocks in the spring of 2023. I gave them a $200 deposit. I have called them on 5/2/23, 5/22/23, 5/27/23 and 6/4/23 and have left messages requesting a call back to establish a date for them to fulfill the contract. I have not received a call - not sure what the issue is, but this is unacceptable. The invoice I have paid for the deposit is #*** which was processed on 12/7/22 at 8:39 am. Please help.Initial Complaint

In December, 2022 I contracted with Eric's Tree Service to cut and remove a number of trees from my yard. This transaction cost a few thousand dollars and was paid in full. Trees were cut within a day or two and then I never received another call from the company. I called the company in April (after the winter and since the trees were on the perimeter of the backyard, I was fine with the delay) and asked when they would remove the trees now that the weather cooperated. I received a VM on 4/17/23 that they would have a team stop by and bring the logs to the front of the house so another team could remove them. The logs were left in front of the house on 4/21. As of today (5/23), I have not heard from the company. I have left numerous VM's on both of their telephone numbers, written a comment on their "Contact Us" section of their website and even had my state representative call them. They returned his call yet they still have not called me nor have they removed the logs. I need those logs removed as my grass is now destroyed and it could be a hazard if the pile becomes loose. I have never experienced such poor customer service. The complete lack of common courtesy in not returning phone calls is unacceptable. This job has been paid in full and not completed. It has been almost 6 months, enough is enough. I have been more than patient.Business Response

On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, a crew from Eric's Tree Service trespassed on my property, cutting down multiple (at least 14) healthy tree limbs. They not only trespassed, but also diminished the appearance of my yard, compromised my privacy and caused emotional upset. They had been hired by my next door neighbor to work in her yard, not mine. They had no contract with me - written or verbal to do so. The only verbal communication was that I told a crew member they could remove any limb(s) on my trees that posed a threat to my neighbor's property. That occurred minutes before I had to leave home at 11:30. When I returned home at 5:00, it was dark and I did not see the damage. After several calls from me amanager and an arborist did appear and took note of the situation, but apparently they have now either quit or been fired as I was told by the secretary. Many phone calls later, followed by a letter, I received a call from the service this past Monday indicating that someone would come to my home to discuss the matter. No one came and no one called to explain why, Today, March 15, I received a call from a secretary who informed me that the company would have nothing to do with me or my complaint and I could take the case to court if I wished. I do not want to do this, but I cannot imagine this action having no consequences, except frustration, a feeling of exploitation and sadness on my part, so I am seeking your help and advice. On November 29th, 2022 Eric's Tree Service completed a job at ** ****** ****** **** ** ****** ******, which is ******** neighbor. On February 16th, 2023, One and a half months later we received a phone call in our office from Sylvia who was very rude to our office staff that we had to hang up on her, for we do not tolerate being disrespected. Sylvia then sent an email to our company on March 2nd, 2023 (attached). This email states in the first sentence that she gave our crew permission to cut some branches on her property and in the same sentence she said that we trespassed.
Our Company will always rectify a issue when it is brought to our immediate attention. Almost 2 months had passed by since the job was completed and she is just reaching out now ? The branches that were trimmed on her property, she gave us permission to do so and there was no charge to her for removing them as stated in the attached email
Thank You,

I am responding to the letter I got from Eric's Tree Service after sending BBB a letter of complaint. Their letter said my response to the damage done was sent too late for them to deal with. Unfortunately I had been ill and could not deal with this issue in the immediate aftermath.
As I said in my letter, they trespassed on my property when I was not home, cut multiple (at least 14) healthy limbs from my trees and gave no explanation as to why this was done when they were hired by my neighbor only.
Just last Monday a male called and said he would meet me at my home to discuss and remediate the situation. He never showed up. Then I received a call saying they would have nothing more to do with me.
Yes, I was upset and perhaps even rude, when I first called them, but that is no excuse for their response to their mistake.
I do not accept their rebuttal.

In the attached email that was sent to us on March 2nd, 2023 you CLEARLY state that you gave our crew permission to cut limbs on your property. We did this out of good faith and generosity, free of charge and you did not contact us until 2 months later to give any indication of an issue. You continually have harassed our office staff, been extremely rude our employees on numerous occasions. You admittedly, in the attached email gave our crews permission to go on your property.
Thank You,

I am rejecting this response because: What you've written is an outright lie and indicative of a company that lacks honesty, accountability and responsibility. What about the fact that I was not home when this happened? About the fact that I gave permission to cut only those limbs that threatened my neighbor's property? Who called to say that he would met me on behalf of the company and never showed up? Answers to these questions have not been given.A landscaper came to my home today, was appalled at the condition of my property, and could not believe that a mere apology and explanation was not forthcoming.
Insofar as your letter stating that you did this as a favor and, out of the goodness of your heart, did not charge me is a monumental prevarication. Your secretary told me that Ms. ***** paid for it. Does Ms. ***** know this?
I believe that you know you're in the wrong, that you may have organizational problems, and that, like many others who wrote complaints, find you are running a less than stellar corporation.
My goal is to inform as many people as possible about this - through the spoken and written word - and recommend them to find a trustworthy company to work for them, not against them.
Sincerely,
****** *******Initial Complaint

December 27, 2022 Erics TreeService removed tree that had fallen on my roof and debris. They were to remove all remains of tree from the yard. I paid them in full upon completion even though nothing had been removed from the yard. They were to do that within the following week. As of now (March 8, 2023) they have not returned. I have called them several times over the past few months and they told me they have truck problems, etc. but would be there soon. They have not come. Now when I telephone them I am told the phone number doesn't exist anymore and there is no response or pick up on their primary phone number. Are they out of business???? It will cost me several hundred dollars to hire someone else to remove all that they have left behind. Please advise and help.....Customer Answer
