I have been a 20 year customer of Ethan Allen. I purchased a dresser and night stand on November 29th; it is May 7th 2024 and I am still waiting on repairs, drawer replacements, and receiving calls about repair appointments. They no longer stand for quality, their service is horrible and Ikea provides better service. What happened to Ethan Allen's quality and workmanship?

Ethan Allen strives to deliver quality products and quality service. We understand there was a concern with the night stand drawer when it was delivered. The local service coordinator for Ethan Allen ordered a new drawer, sending in an existing one to ensure color match. Replacement drawer slides were also ordered. This did take longer than expected but the parts have arrived, updates were provided during the process and the new drawer is ready to be installed. I purchased a bedroom set for my son in the ****** ** location, one of the night tables came defective and also the chest, they send a technician only to see the damaged items, he was not able to do anything, he mentioned that he was going to send the report and we will be contacted by now 4 weeks later no one has call me, longer waiting times to get the furniture and now that arrived is not good product, for the price and the wait time not happy at all

Ethan Allen has come to an agreement with the client. A new top for the night stand and the tall chest will be reordered.

I have owned Ethan Allen couches that I inherited for the last 20 years and they were amazing! The cushions never broke down and some of my guests preferred to sleep on the couch because it was so comfortable. Unfortunately, we lost everything in a house fire. We ordered two couches from Ethan Allen with the feather blend cushions because these are what we had before. Imagine my surprise when the cushions were about 1/2 the height of the sample ones in the store. You can feel the frame beneath the cushions. Every guest that comes over complains about them as well and is surprised when I tell them they are Ethan Allen couches. I have been going through the process of trying to get them replaced for over a year now. I was told they are indeed faulty, but that there's nothing they can do for me. I'm not asking for the couches to be replaced or even all the cushions, just the cushions you sit on. They told me it was my error because we didn't "fluff" them enough. There isn't even enough filling to fluff! I used my insurance replacement money to buy these and cannot afford alternate couches. To say I am heartbroken is an understatement. Not only did I lose all my earthly belongins in a fire, but now I have furniture that is almost unusable. Ethan Allen is now poor quality with terrible customer service! I would stay away if possible.

We have worked out a solution with the client that she is happy with.

Horrible experience!! Bought my first set of furniture for my new house from Ethan Allen and have been very disappointed. First of all, they told me that I would receive my bedroom set in October when I ordered the set in July. Every piece came separate and way later than promised. I JUST received my bed December 30,2023. With that being said, 3 out of the 4 pieces had cosmetic issues. I have had multiple issues with my bedroom set and have not heard from anybody but the store manager. Claims that everybody at corporate is involved but have not heard from a single person from corporate. They want to take my bed set back and "hand paint" it themselves. Delivered the bed with touch ups that are not acceptable. I am not paying this amount for furniture to be hand painted and touched up. Black smudges and missing paint on every piece of furniture except for dresser. Also have not offered any compensation but refunding my delivery fee for all of my troubles. VERY disappointing. DID NOT pay this amount for furniture to get hand painted/touched up items that will not last a long time. I am just so furious that they have not offered to compensate for any of this.

Senior Management from our Corporate Office did have a long conversation with ***** * on 1/3/24 prior to receiving this review from the BBB. We believe that ***** * called our design center asking for the manager who was off that day, then asked for someone from corporate to call her. Our Senior Manager from our Corporate Office called her back that afternoon and we believe in the meantime she posted this with BBB earlier that day before we had the opportunity to address the concerns with her. ***** *’s order came from our manufacturing facility in ******** ******* that has experienced a natural disaster earlier this year which has unfortunately led to delays. As to resolve the delays and quality concerns provided by ***** *, we have reordered her items as to procure new ones, refunded her delivery fee, and provided an additional accommodation. The ******* manufacturing plant has been notified to color match and expedite the replacements, and we will also color match those items to the double dresser she has in her home currently. ***** * seemed pleased with this plan at the conclusion of our Senior Manager’s call with her.

We purchased 2 sofas from Ethan Allen in May 2023. After the sofas were delivered we noticed the sofas piping did not line up properly on the seat cushions. The fabric on the cushions is loose and does not fit properly around the cushion. We contacted our sales associate Emmeline at the ********* ******* store immediately after the delivery. After an exchange of phone calls relaying our dissatisfaction she came out to our home and spent 1 1/2 hours trying to rearrange the cushion fillers on each cushion to make the piping line up and smooth the fabric. She took pictures of the sofa to take back and show the design team. After a two week delay they determined that if we just sat on the sofa it would “break the cushions in”. This did not resolve the problem. I told the sales associate Emmeline that this was not acceptable and asked that she advise her store manager to come out to the house and see the sofas. I have not received a phone call from anyone from Ethan Allen after making numerous attempts to contact them regarding this problem. Ethan Allen states in their advertisements they mail out to customers “we craft all our custom upholstery in our North American workshops. That means you can take advantage of our full catalog of custom options, and the pieces you choose will be hand-tailored by the world’s finest artisans”. We did receive a fine custom order.

The home call went well, I did find that the seat and back casings had puckering along the sides as they were not sewn correctly. also, the seat cushions were mushy and holding up. I am ordering the new all new seat and back casings with inserts. Informed the client that the comfort wrinkle is normal so she will also see them in the new ones. We are doing a dye lot match. We also are ordering a new LAF arm panel as it is also puckering and very loose and was sewn incorrectly. She also has 2-night tables, and one is yellowing went in for credit on that. I explained all this to the client, and she was pleased with the solutions and said she will wait patiently.

Purchased a dining table in November of 2022, it was delivered in December of 2022. This dining table (no chairs) listed for $2700, it was discounted to $1960 for this purchase. Now in November of 2023 the coating (white Sea Salt is the color) of the table top is blistering and chipping. I sent photos to the local Ethan Allen Design Center. In a day they got back to me saying the blistering is due to moisture and is NOT covered under the Limited Warranty (this table is less than a year old). It would have been covered under the Protection Plan, which we declined. So, we purchased a dining table that cannot tolerate spills and normal use. Their technician said that he cannot fix it. We have found a company that will refinish the dining table for use as a DINING table at our expense. In the future we will consider other furniture manufactures before ever make another purchase from Ethan Allen.

Client made a purchase for a dining table and chairs in November 2022. The dining table was backordered and ETA ship date took longer than expected. The shipping priority for the dining table was escalated internally to take care of this order knowing it had exceed the original shipping ETA provided. Ethan Allen offered several tools to aid our clients in protecting their investments. • We offer a complete use and care guide on EthanAllen.com for all of our products. Printed on both, your signed paperwork at point of purchase and your signed delivery ticket on delivery day, there is a QR code that outlines use and care for our products. • Ethan Allen additionally offers custom made table pads to use with our dining tables and buffet/servers. These table pads are moisture resistant, have a heat shield built in and come with a storage bag to put them away when not using them. • We also offer the 5 year accident protection plan for our products, so you can live life, enjoy your furniture and not worry if an accident happens. Ethan Allen stands behind it’s quality and products but cannot repair or replace products that have concerns that are non-quality or warranty defect related. Moisture left on wood surfaces, some cleaning agents used to sanitize or wash a table can break down the finish. It can be a slow migration that has a long-term effect. Ethan Allen has reviewed the concerns, it is deemed to be damage from use. We have extended a technician that has experience in restoration of dining tables. This service would be at the expense of the client. We would also like to extend the offer of 50% off a new dining table if they choose to replace this one and we will add the 5 year accident protection to that new table for no extra charge because we understand that this is an investment and furniture that is enjoyed everyday.
