I purchased 2 sofas and a chair at Ethan Allen in Sarasota Florida. One sofa had defective workmanship. Upon delivery the drive saw and noted it and told me to call the store. I did immediately but just got a run around from the sales rep and store manager. I then called corporate asking for the sofa to be repaired or replaced. A repair man came and said stuffing was missing from one leg making them not match and he was afraid to open the leg up. He was to report it. I waited several weeks and called corporate asking for a new sofa but after a month of waiting I had to write this review. Ethan Allen is not the store it once was. I would advise anyone interested in buying from them to look elsewhere as their workmanship is below par. Once they get your money they don’t know you. Buyer bewareEthan Allen Global, Inc.

BBB Review ID: 210521 Ethan Allen order number: 516C994959 Delivery date 11/9/2024 In response to concerns with padding on sofa and request for replacement sofas. The concern pointed out by the consumer is not considered a defect. The way the fabric is pulled around the padding on the front panel of the arms of the sofas will vary slightly as it’s hand tailored on each sofa. Every client concern is important, this was reviewed by the design center t ensure nothing was being overlooked or misunderstood. It was communicated back that after the review, this is normal and shown on both the website and on the product in the Ethan Allen showroom. Following the corporate call asking for the sofa to be repaired or replaced. Ethan Allen approved a tech to visit as a courtesy to see if they could manipulate the padding to achieve a slightly closer symmetry from the right side to the left. It was communicated then, again, this is not a defect, but this was being done to offer another set of eyes and as a courtesy. Technician could not make any adjustments without opening the frame, send in a report this being with in normal standards and no adjustments made. Request for replacement is not approved; this would arrive with the same acceptable variation. The sofas are covered by warranty, if there is any manufacture defect that are under warranty, Ethan Allen will stand behind the product and address the concern.Review fromSHERILYN R

I bought furniture and draperies from Ethan Allen. The furniture was great and Ethan Allen handled the purchase and delivery well. However the draperies are a different matter. It has been five months and I still do not have drapes. I ordered 4 double panels. First two delivered were to long second two delivered to short. Ethan Allen has two of the panels and I have two panels. But they keep telling me they will fix and nothing happens. At this point I just want a refund,Ethan Allen Global, Inc.

BBB CASE #’s 206960/206962 *** ****** *** ***** ***** ****** ****** ******** *** ****** Please find below our response to the complaint filed by *** ****** on 12/12/24. Our client, *** *** ****** ordered and was delivered 5 Ethan Allen Furniture items on June 29th, 2024. An additional item was delivered on November 21st, 2024. On July 11th, 2024 The client reported concerns with the leveling of items and an exposed staple on one of his dining chairs. A service technician was subsequently dispatched on July 18th to review and make corrections. It was determined that 1 bedroom piece and 6 dining chairs needed level adjustments to match the variations in a hard wood floor. Per the technician’s report, the client refused to allow the leveling insisting instead that the items were incorrectly made. We stand by the manufacturing quality of our products, but we also are committed to providing customer satisfaction where possible. It should be noted that it is commonplace for items to need slight height adjustments when placed on a hardwood surface due to the natural variations in wood characteristics and the effects of expansion and contraction of natural materials such as hard wood flooring. Additionally, the client reported spotting on the finish of his dining table. It was determined on that same visit that the spots were a result of the wax coating having unevenly dried in certain areas. These spots were removed by the technician with the use of a cleaning substance designed for the purpose. After receiving the information from the BBB, which speaks to concerns not known or addressed as in the above paragraph, *** ****** has been contacted by the Ethan Allen Regional Manager for the Mid-Atlantic. Following their discussion on 12/17/24, Ethan Allen has made several commitments to *** ****** to satisfy his concerns. We are presently working through these commitments and are dedicated to bringing about the best possible resolution. Ethan Allen is dedicated to the highest possible standards of service and quality. Very cheap furniture what they deliver is not what they show you in the store. I bought a desk and a desk chair based on what I saw in the store. when the desk arrived it would not even stand up and the drawers would not open. The desk chair In the store had a wood bottom and the one they delivered had a plastic bottom. I refuse the merchandise and disputed my credit card and they told capital one that they delivered what they were supposed to deliver and I was charged $1000 cancellation feeEthan Allen Global, Inc.

August 19th 2024 In response to the complaint about an Ethan Allen product quality, cancelation policy and refund processed. Ethan Allen offers the vast variety of custom options; our products are custom made for each individual client order and final sale. No returns or refunds on those items. If there is concern on delivery day or warranty related concern thereafter, the policy is we will correct, if not correctable, it would be replaced. Things that are naturally occurring (like wood expansion and contraction) are not covered under warranty, so a drawer that might be tough to open, will acclimate. Our service team would always review any concern reported and we’ll find resolution even if there is no defect. When client is unwilling/unable to accept delivery, the order will be canceled, and deposit held back to restocking. This is printed in the terms & conditions, contract signed when the order is placed. This order was refused on delivery day due to preference and a drawer that was difficult to open. There was no defect found with the ordered items that were refused. We never want a client to be unhappy with their order. This order can be reinstated and scheduled for delivery to avoid the restocking charge if the client would like. At that time, the 30 % would be applied back to the order and delivery scheduling would collect the balance for any amounts due for the furniture order to schedule it for delivery. Good afternoon, Jaqueline Thomas purchased the Ivan Storage Ottoman from our ********** ** Ethan Allen on 5/15/2024 and accepted delivery on 8/7/2024. The client contacted the store after delivery thinking they had received the wrong fabric. The designer then visited the client's home with our store sample to compare against the ottoman received in home. The sample and customer merchandise matched. Ms.Thomas then escalated to management persisting the fabric was incorrect, at which point the District Manager advised a reorder would bring the same results as the fabric on the ottoman matches what was ordered. The client, dissatisfied, was then provided an option to return the ottoman, but we have not heard from the client since with confirmation either way.Review fromAmanda B

I have been a 20 year customer of Ethan Allen. I purchased a dresser and night stand on November 29th; it is May 7th 2024 and I am still waiting on repairs, drawer replacements, and receiving calls about repair appointments. They no longer stand for quality, their service is horrible and Ikea provides better service. What happened to Ethan Allen's quality and workmanship?Ethan Allen Global, Inc.

Ethan Allen strives to deliver quality products and quality service. We understand there was a concern with the night stand drawer when it was delivered. The local service coordinator for Ethan Allen ordered a new drawer, sending in an existing one to ensure color match. Replacement drawer slides were also ordered. This did take longer than expected but the parts have arrived, updates were provided during the process and the new drawer is ready to be installed. 1 starwe purchased our mattress and boxspring on 3/01/21. it came with a ten year warranty. after 6 months our sleep indentations were of the nature that we basically had to roll out of the indetations and could not turn, nor get comfortable. we have had the company out 2 times to look at it and they say its not bad enough to replace. i spoke to customer service at their headquarters and they said they would get back to me but never did. we have been a long time customer of this company with only this one product complaint. ethan allen is not an inexpensive product and i am a disappointed customer.Review fromHolly A

We got exactly what we had ordered and it was it impeccable condition. Their delivery team was excellent. 1 starFraud! I ordered over 22K in furniture in August. Although, they charged my card in August, I still do not have my furniture. I know the final piece reached "a warehouse" the week before Christmas, but nobody will tell me when I will get my furniture. The store rep (Carol B**** - ******** **) that I bought from stopped retuning my calls and emails two months ago. I've called support 3 times. Each time they can't tell me exactly where my furniture is and when I will receive it. Each time they promised to find out and call me back. They have not called me back even once. I did manage to connect with Susan, a market leader for the ******** store. She again promised to find out when I would receive my furniture but never called my back. This company charged me almost 23K almost six months ago, but refuses to deliver my furniture or even tell me exactly where it is. The support workers REFUSE to escalate my case. This is FRAUD!!!!!!! I purchased a bedroom set for my son in the ****** ** location, one of the night tables came defective and also the chest, they send a technician only to see the damaged items, he was not able to do anything, he mentioned that he was going to send the report and we will be contacted by now 4 weeks later no one has call me, longer waiting times to get the furniture and now that arrived is not good product, for the price and the wait time not happy at allEthan Allen Global, Inc.
