I bought a vehicle 2015 **** ****** from dealership used as is 174,000, they promised me the car will pass inspection and that they personally tested the cars and inspected them themselves, i bought the car 03/03/25 from them, on top of that they said i had to wait 4 days to get the car because they needed to complete paperwork, i take the car register it on 03/11/25 and the car has the check engine light on and will not move when driving, the place scammed me and do not want to offer me a refund. I do not even have a week with this car on the road! This is unsafe and i just noticed the reviews and they took advantage of me and my mom! The guy who also had me test the car will not let me test drive it for a good amount in order for me to determine they really are unprofessional as well.Business Response

The customer purchased a vehicle "AS-IS", per ** State Law. She signed multiple times where it reads "AS-IS", "This means that you will lose your implied warranties. You will have to pay for any repairs needed after sale." We have NOT promised to fix, guarantee, or warranty anything on the vehicle. The vehicle is in compliance with ** State Emissions, per ** State Law, meaning it passed here in **, and did NOT have a check engine light on at the point of sale. We stand behind this position, and will NOT change our views on this matter. Thank you.Customer Answer

Hello, I understand the car was as is however 10 minutes after leaving the lot the car sat in my driveway for about a week and check engine light comes on then i drove it and the car starts over heating i took it to the shop, they wanted me to even do more work but i did not have the money this car is not worth $6,000 for me to be paying in repairs $2,226 i need to be reimbursed for the repairs at least. This situation was preexisting before i purchased the car and was not told about it . They did not allow me to test drive the car at my convenience. These people were unprofessional, unethical and discriminating against women.Initial Complaint

We purchased the Car fron CT Car Co LLC on Dec 21 st 2023 , yes the Bill of Sales states AS IS . But doesnt mean you put a temporary fix , to pass a car through ** Emmission and make the car able to be sold and be registered. After 12 Days of purchase the car started to emit white smoke and provide a milky smell, so we decided to take to a local automotive shop. On Jan 11th 2024 they notified us that car had a bad head gasket and they noticed filler in the system that may be used in the past to avoid the car from not passing emission.Business Response

The vehicle was sold AS-IS, per ** State Law. All vehicles pass ** Emissions testing, at an independent facility, not related to our business. We can not predict the future, nor do we claim to. The vehicles we sell are older (over 7 years old) and higher mileage. Due to the age of the vehicles, we sell them AS-IS, which ** law states "This means you will lose your implied warranties. You will have to pay for any repairs needed after sale.", which the customer signed many times. Therefore, our position will NOT change. Thank You. - CT Car CoInitial Complaint

The company charged an outrageous filing fee which did not include attending the *** for plates and registration. The box indicates the price is negotiable and they would not lower the price even though they do not take care of registry transactions. The vehicle was filthy and never washed. They indicate all prices are final and no warranty even though the prices range up to $5000 for vehicles. The vehicle is purchased started to act up within a week of purchase which required additional work even though the dealer indicated the vehicle was good to go. All vehicles from a dealership should not die within a week of purchase.Business Response

All of our vehicles are sold "AS-IS", per ** state law. We will NOT be providing any sort of refund or repair on an AS-IS Sale. AS-IS means that the vehicle is 100% your responsibility once purchased. All our vehicles are ** Emissions compliant. If you do not like the price and/or cleanliness of our vehicles, then we strongly encourage you to shop elsewhere. Thank You - CT Car Co LLCInitial Complaint

HORRIBLE BUSINESS!! Was sold a lemon in June 2022 and sadly there are no lemon laws in ** which this sketchy business knows. Funny how they don’t have to give a warranty for any car over 7 years old but that’s all they have in their lot. My car started overheating the day after I took it off the lot and spewing coolant everywhere. The AC never worked like it said in the ad. There was no way for me to get the car back up to them as I live 40 miles away and the car was overheating.Business Response

All of our vehicles are sold "AS-IS" Per ** State Law. We would have been happy to take a look at your coolant leak back in June if we had been notified. Unfortunately the customer neglected to contact us until now, in November. We have never guaranteed A/C on a vehicle, ever. We will be doing nothing in regards to this complaint, as legally we have done nothing wrong. We recommend that you find your own local mechanic, and own up to your own responsibilities as an adult and a vehicle owner.Initial Complaint

I recently purchased a vehicle that needed front struts. Was told the price was higher IF he fixed them, and if not the price would be lowered and I’d fix it on my own. After driving over 1 hour each way to check the car out, I finally purchased it and was told that the front struts would be replaced. And how the brakes would be addressed since they sounded rough, and he was not willing to negotiate on price with the current issues, including the A/C not working, and him not being able to tell me why it didn’t work. And the windshield being scratched as if someone wiped it off with a rock in the past. When I came back to purchase the vehicle a few days later, I drove it and it sounded fine at the time. I purchased the vehicle, and was told it takes 24 hours for the paperwork and title to show up, since he does not hold the titles on hand. Knowing I live over an hour away, he did not mention any of this to me, and tells me “I never asked him” since I went in thinking it was a traditional car dealership. It took two more days then expected to “fix the struts” which WERE NOT, I repeat were NOT fixed, and it sounds horrible. He showed no proof of them being fixed, and when I bought the car he then tells me “they are used coming from a scrap yard, and in great shape.” So he is using used parts on cars he sells. And also lying about the repairs he allegedly performed on my vehicle. My car will not pass inspection unless I fix it, and it’s over $400 to repair. Which was near what he charged me($450 more) to “do the repair himself.” Called the dealer after driving home the same day, and left then a voicemail stating these issues, and also how the front undercarriage come off and shredded in the front right wheel well from the tire rubbing on it. When I originally looked at the vehicle, and drove it, the undercarriage was completely solid and had no issues. I still have not heard from the dealer, and I have called again today and it goes to voicemail.Business Response

******* bought a vehicle "AS-IS", which means "AS-IS". There is NO warranty on vehicles under $3,000 or over 7 years old, per ** state law. ******* was never promised an oil change, car wash, etc. Most o* ********* "issues" stem from him not asking questions until days after the sale. We will not be repairing anything, nor refunding anyone in this matter. The vehicle in question passed ** State emissions testing and a safety check. It was sold "AS-IS", which ******* signed his name next to in acknowledgement. We see no further replies needed. Thank You. - CT CAR COCustomer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: I did not mention one thing about an oil change or car wash in my previous compliant. You told me you were going to repair the front struts, hence charging me $450 more out the door, as you said. The front struts are not changed. Again, you said you would have them fixed. I waited until Tuesday for them to be finished with the work that was supposedly done. You told me on Friday you ordered the struts, which were not new, and coming from a scrap yard, and by the following Monday they were not in until late, and you only got one replaced, and how on Tuesday it would be finished. I had to yet again call you back to follow up with the “repairs” and you said Tuesday morning, July 26th 2022 that they were finished and the car drove great. Nothing you promised and charged me more was done. I need to repair what you said you did out of my own pocket now, yet you charged me the extra $450 to again “replace them.” Since they were not changed I should be refunded the $450 so I can turn around and get the front struts changed since they are in horrible shape. The car runs great btw, it’s just this issue that you promised me was done.Business Response

We did not charge $450 for struts. The customer may be referring to our dealer conveyance fee of $498, which was agree upon time of sale. The Vehicle was sold "AS-IS" Per ** State Law. We will be taking no action at this time. This is our final response. Thank you.
