I originally texted this company when the job was pretty much complete that it was my pleasure and nice working him, that I thought it looks nice in the backyard seeing the unsightly pool gone. I was happy imagining what it would look like when there's some grass back there etc instead of my pool collapsing and just sitting there filling up with water. But...BEWARE!! Grillo pool is awful! Don't use them. Once they have your money you'll never hear from them again. My in ground pool was removed. They left several pieces of rebar sticking up out of the ground. When I emailed about it I got no response. I texted him a few times got only one response saying he would come out to look at it that day. When he didn't come out to look at the rebar that they were supposed to have removed. Which was part of the in ground pool removal process. I waited two weeks, texting him again no response, texted and emailed him again no response. He's received several emails and texts from me and does not respond. This is going on months! He comes across as a really nice guy at first (great salesman, I'll give him that). But once he has your money forget it, you're not getting it back and you're going to get what you get and he's not going to rectify anything even if it's his error. Which this situation is completely on him/Grillo pool. My situation leaving several pieces of rebar sticking up out of the ground where someone could fall and potentially get seriously hurt. Shame on his company! Everyone I know and everyone I bump into about anything I'm going to mention this to. To get his name/business out there so people know that he's not reliable and unprofessional in the quality of his work.

Sean came out to our property in late July/Early August and told us that our Pool Removal was a textbook job. He said he could get it done in about 2-5 days and that it was important I sign the contract because they would have their equipment in our area during the 3rd week of August. We signed and had him put a start week of August 21-26. He never showed and started giving us the runaround that they were running into permit issues. He strung me along for two weeks until he admitted that he, “hadn’t even started the permit process” and asked us to do it. At this point we terminated our contract and asked for our deposit of $3,500 back. As of September 3, 2024 we still have not received our deposit. He has ghosted us, isn’t answering phones calls, emails, texts or voicemail. This business is a hack and needs to be shut down. Multiple reports on this site have indicated that poor business practices and stealing money is what Grillo Pool Services are known for.

I have also had unresolved issues with Grillo Pool Services. I contacted Grillo Services in April of 2024 to inquire about having my inground pool removed. I was told by the woman who answered the phone that she would have the person who does that call me. Shortly after that call, I was contacted by Sean Grillo who came out to my home to give me an estimate. A few days later, we entered into a contract to have the pool removed. The contract was in the name of Grillo Services and was signed by Sean Grillo. The contract specified that Screened Topsoil was going to be used in filling in the area. When Sean came to pick up his final check, I showed him a large portion of the yard where grass was not growing, and the ground was sinking. I gave him his final payment in good faith since Grillo Services is a respected local business. He promised to send someone within a few days to repair the damaged area. I texted and emailed Sean multiple times with no response. In frustration, I call Grillo Services and spoke to Lawrence Grillo, who is the uncle of Sean. He told me that Sean has no right to use their name as he has not worked for them in 7 years. I talked to the subcontractor hired by Sean to remove my pool. He admitted that the reason grass was not growing is because compost, not screened topsoil, was delivered. When he called Sean about it, the subcontractor said he was told by Sean to use it anyway. I am now left with a contract that has not been fulfilled and worthless guarantees. I have had to hire a new contractor to remove the compost and put down topsoil. Additionally, my house was invaded by hundreds of flies. This has never happened before. I called an exterminator, and they said the flies are coming from the compost that is filled with garbage, animal manure, etc. It should have been made clear to me when first contracting Grillo Services that the individual contacting me was not affiliated with Grillo Services. ** ****

We signed a contract with Sean back in January and paid for a pool removal. He told us he would be done in the spring, and the contract had a deadline of July 1st, as we all know sometimes things get in the way. After emailing him multiple times in May, he finally got back to us and assured us the job would be done by July 1st. Then he ghosted again. July 1st comes and goes and the work isn't done, and he's not responding to emails and phone calls. We send certified letters and he finally gets back to us in early August and offers us a refund, which we accept. And now he's back to not responding to emails- so we're out $5000 and starting the small claims process. Would not recommend giving him money until he's actually done the job.
