The invoice dates range from July to Dec 2022 but they were working at my house until March 2023. The ceiling they patched after a flood when they installed refrigerator & connected water caused the ceiling under the kitchen to collapse and part of the room next to it the ceiling was damaged. The ceiling was cut January 21st and a patch was put on in the bathroom they did not finish either repair or properly dry items as I lost the couch, ottoman and chair that were wood and in there due to mold. The deck I was informed by a new contractor 6/6/2023 that the company build is not in code, it is bowing in the middle, the contractor noted that there are not enough screws/ they do not follow the screw pattern to the house, there is issues with what they were supposed to put under the section that touches the house to keep it from rotting, the stairs are not on anything and there should be a concrete slab or something under the steps to stabilize them. The contractor said that the stairs should have another support, material was reused that should not have been, there should be a back to the steps. I was informed that to fix the deck and stairs it would require an engineer to determine if areas could be replaced/fortified OR it would need to be taken off and redone. I had told the company that completed the deck that it felt unstable, I questioned why the stairs bounced, I questioned why things were reused and was told it was fine. I wanted to have a set of stairs and another deck built off the deck to go to a pool which was why I had a new contractor here and learned how unsafe my current deck was. I have paid the company that built the deck over $124,797.2 for total work in the house. I do NOT feel comfortable having the contractor that build the deck come back as they kept saying it was fine when I questioned things I thought were issues is the bounce in the steps

We repaired an existing deck with new **** boards and vinyl railings the original flashing and cement work was not part of job . This is a clean up . Not a new deck and it held all 4 big guys on it perfectly movement on **** is always there on all **** decks . Downstairs ceiling repairs weren’t taped or painted . The leak that caused this was a faulty ice line that was purchased with new refrigerator . Not our fault . But we cleaned up the mess fixed as much as possible for free. And loaned drying fans which she still has . I have no problem   Speaking  with her and working something out we are not here to make problems but help we like *** and look forward to speaking with her . She should have called us. We have had a lot of conversations in the past . I will wait for her call thanks

Hello, I did not respond to the complaint Complaint ID: ******** response from the business yet as all steps have not been able to be finished. I spoke with the business on the phone. The owner agreed to have the City Building Inspector come out to assess the deck and see what is wrong with it. The owner stated he would fix what the city cites as being wrong with the deck to ensure it is safe. I do like that the Building Inspector will be involved as it is an outside party who does not stand to gain money by saying things are unsafe when they are not or noting things need to be done that do not matter etc. However, we have only spoken on the phone this week so the matter has not had enough time to be resolved. It will be resolved once the issues with the deck are identified and the deck is safe to use. Complaint ID: ******** Thank you, Elizabeth I attempted to respond to my case Complaint ID: ******** but it was closed.
